Dear father Knowing you would like to know my wharebouts and how I am getting allong thought I would drop you a few lines

I have got over my feaver but I am still pretty weak. I arrived here with some seven others of my Company on the 10th inst after dark. I got off lucky for I expected to have a long run of it I think my disease was a sort of Billious feaver

I wrote you a letter before I was taken sick I wrote that I would like a pair of boots if you have not ordered them I wish that you would order a good thick pair of soles put on them. Have the legs made larg around but I do not care about their being very long.

We are in very pleasant quarters and we get good care but we are not fed very well if my appetite comes back I will be oblidged to buy some thing to eat for I like good food and a plenty of it.

I learn that we can not receive our pay this pay day coming that is here, at the Hospital but may be I will return again before our regiment is payed off.

But for fear that I should miss I wish you would send me a little money when you answer this I have $4.00 now with me

There are a great many sick in our Regiment there were about 80 of our regiment came down on the boat with me all bound for this place Gloucester at this season of the year is very unhealthy besids our boys have had to much duty to perform.

This is the last of the unhealthy months I believe. Well I think I have done pretty well writing so much. When you answer this direct to Hampton Genl Hospital Ward 2 Hampton Virginia love to all aff your son G.H. Wing
