WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS

ABOUT THE FUTURE
October 24 & 25, 2009 Tierce Green

“The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and

self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other
deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer
hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should
use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully
administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:7-10 (NIV)

WHOSE AUTHORITY?
THE LAST DAYS CALL FOR LASTING CONVICTIONS

• What do I believe about THE BIBLE?

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true
and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when
we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”
2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)

• What do I believe about JESUS?

“‘But what about you?’ he asked. ‘Who do you say I am?’
Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living
God.’” Matthew 16:15-16 (NIV)

“For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the
Lord Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 4:2 (NIV)

• What do I believe about CHURCH?

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but
encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is
drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)

“Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they
never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is
the Christ.” Acts 5:42 (NIV)

MAKE THE MOST OF THE TIME

“Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk – not as unwise people
but as wise – making the most of the time, because the days are
evil.” Ephesians 5:15-16 (HCS)

a. 1. KEEP YOUR HEAD CLEAR

“The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-
controlled so that you can pray.” 1 Peter 4:7 (NIV)

• Tie up LOOSE ENDS

“ … Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin
that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God
has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)

• Live today WITH THE END IN

MIND

a. 2. KEEP YOUR HEART WARM

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a
multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8 (NIV)

“By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one
another.” John 13:35 (NIV)

a. 3. KEEP YOUR HOME OPEN

“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” 1 Peter 4:9 (NIV)

“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may

become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a
crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in
the universe.” Philippians 2:14-15 (NIV)

a. 4. KEEP YOUR HANDS BUSY

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others,
faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)
