Ordinance No. 09 series of 1999 to address the effects of exploitation of these areas in the past resulting to the depletion of the coastal and marine resources diversity in the area

MPA Management Plan was adopted on September 8, 2011 through Resolution No. 226 s.2011
Biodiversity conservation was one among the identified activities in the Management plan

BACKGROUND
Proposal on Restocking and Grow-out of Abalone (Haliotis asinina) in San Jose Marine Protected Area was submitted and approved by DENR MOA on Biodiversity Conservation Project was signed on December 4, 2012 LGU assists the PO in the over-all implementation of the project with technical assistance from DENR, BFAR and CSU-Aparri Coral Cover Inside MS 52.25 Biomass Fish Families Outside MS 8

GENERAL AND SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES


The project aims to improve the coastal and marine habitats around the community and species enhancement through the establishment and management of abalone restocking and growout project. Specifically, the project aims to: Institutionalize sustainable management through improved fisheries along tidal flats and coral reefs where abalone usually thrive Increase knowledge and awareness of community members on the importance of tidal flats, coral reefs and other coastal and marine resources Strengthen partnerships and linkage with other MPAs through sharing of ideas and inputs in relation to the management of the MPA and respective conservation projects Provide an alternative livelihood for the fisherfolks as well as develop the organizational and financial capacity of the PO

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
15% mobilization fund released on February 27, 2013 amounting to P100,500.00
