THIRSTY SPONGE
Materials: Water, measuring cylinders, beaker, sponge A, sponge B, sponge C, ruler, and stopwatch. Procedures: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Measure the thickness of each sponge and record the reading. Pour 300 ml of water into a beaker. Place sponge A into the water and leave it there for 10 seconds. Take sponge A out of the beaker by using forceps. Measure the amount of water left in the beaker with a measuring cylinder. Record your measurement in the table below. Repeat steps 2 to 5 by using sponge B and sponge C.

My Observations: Sponge A B C 6 marks Thickness of sponge (cm) Volume of water left (ml)

1. Besides the initial of volume of water, state another thing that is kept the same. 1 mark ____________________________________________________________________
