ASSET provides a one-stop-shop for planning and optimising

SUPPORT
ASSET features multitechnology support allowing
simultaneous modelling of
multiple technologies in a
single project. Modelling
of the interaction between
technologies is also possible.
ASSET supports GSM, UMTS,
LTE, CDMA, DVB-H, TETRA,
AMPS and other technologies.
GIS MAP VIEW
At the heart of ASSET is a GIS
designed specifically with the
radio network planner in
mind.
It features a comprehensive
set of display and layering
functionality including the
ability to display Web Maps
and to edit cell parameters
directly from the GIS.
PROPAGATION
MODELLING
Included with ASSET are a
number of empirical and
deterministic propagation
models as well as the option
to add 3rd party models from
providers such as Siradel,
Wavecall and AWE
Communications.
Models can be automatically
or manually tuned and their
accuracy can be improved by
using measurement data.

COVERAGE MAP
GENERATION AND
PRINTING
ASSET coupled with
ARRAYWIZARD can schedule
and produce nationwide
coverage plots and statistical
reports. These can then be
published over the Web or
printed.
TRAFFIC MODELLING
Traffic modelling with ASSET
allows traffic forecasting and
capacity analysis as well as
the modelling of new services
prior to implementation.
Running What if? scenarios
ensures the best design is
deployed.
NEIGHBOUR PLANNING
ASSET features the most
powerful neighbour planner
on the market. Neighbour
relations between cells
including IRAT handovers
can be planned and analysed.
Neighbour relation parameter
planning including
frequencies, scrambling codes
and BSICs is also included.
MEASUREMENT TOOLBOX
Network measurements from
multiple sources such as
drive tests, carrier wave
measurements and mobile
measurement reports can be
imported into ASSET to tune
propagation models and
enhance neighbour planning.

SECURITY
Excellent security provides
a true multi-user environment
for large scale corporate
deployments. Privileges
may be specified to manage
individual and group access
at multiple levels within
the tool.

The ASSET database can be
shared across multiple users

current view of the network

integration based on SOA
compliant web services

Integration with CONNECT

3 key themes of Visualisation, Planning
Capability and Efficiency.
To understand and analyse complex planning
scenarios requires effective visualisation.
ASSET 8.0 introduces significant steps forward
in this area. Planning is core to what ASSET
does and version 8.0 introduces several new
planning components and further enhances
others. Understanding the needs of our
customers to do more in less time has led
AIRCOM to add a number of features which
greatly improve efficiency.
All these enhancements allow you to confidently address the challenges ahead
and maximise the performance of your network.

VISUALISATION
Effective visualisation is the
key to evaluating the results
from complex planning
scenarios.
Web Maps
Support for Web Map layers
means maps from Bing,
OpenStreetMap and others
can be shown as layers in
the ASSET GIS.
Google Earth exports
ASSETs GIS export feature
now includes KML raster and
vector file generation which
allows users to display
prediction arrays such as
coverage and best server
plots in Google Earth.
Analysis Zones
Analysis Zones allows
engineers to focus their
analysis to a specific vector
or polygon, streamlining the
optimisation process.
GIS view measurements
A new distance ruler provides
enhanced functionality
including the ability to
quickly measure the distance
between two points as well
as the total distance between
multiple points on the map
view.

PLANNING CAPABILITY
Sandbox
The Sandbox allows an
engineer to share proposed
network changes with other
members of their team
creating an environment
of collaboration around
planning network changes.
Neighbour planner
Coverage prediction or
network measurement
neighbour plans can now
be refined with neighbour
statistics imported from
the live network.
Emergency area planner
The identifier of a geographic
polygon into which a cell
propagates can be
automatically assigned to
that cell, allowing for
emergency area planning.
Location based
services planner
Automatically defines the
centre of gravity and radius
of a cells service area, useful
for external applications such
as those providing location
based services.
LAC and RAC planner
Automatically plan the LAC
and RAC of a cells taking
into account hierarchy,
neighbours relations and
user-defined rules.

EFFICIENCY
Enabling engineers to work
faster and smarter was a key
focus for ASSET 8.0. Major
enhancements in this area
include:
Antenna configuration
workflow enhanced and
streamlined.
Interference Matrix
generation and full LTE
support added to
ARRAYWIZARD.
Support for higher LTE
elements such as MMEs
and S-GWs added.
New SOA interface for
ARRAYWIZARD allows
easy integration to
external tools.
Maximum prediction radius
can now also be specified
by received signal strength.
Carried traffic is now
aggregated up from cell
level and stored at higher
level nodes for easier
dimensioning exercises.
This along with improved
integration with CONNECT
also allows ASSETs
Carried Traffic Analysis
functionality to be used as
an input for CONNECTs
capacity and routing
functionality.

PRODUCTIVITY
PACKS

ASSET includes optional productivity packs

to accommodate a multitude of requirements
and provide for significantly increased
network engineering efficiencies.
These packs can be added as and when
required, to ensure ASSET can deliver a
custom solution, ready to cope with the
continually changing requirements of the
network design team.
These packs cover automatic cell and
frequency planning, complex propagation
models, financial analysis modules, external
interfaces (including to the live network),
automatic array creation and support for 64
bit simulations and multi-core distributed
predictions.

ADVANTAGE (ACP)
An Automatic Cell Planning
(ACP) module, designed to
enable operators to make
better business decisions
by assessing the impact
of different network
configurations, maximising
capacity, coverage and
network quality, whilst
reducing OPEX.
ASSET-ACP
The core functionalities of
a full blown ACP product are
introduced into the everyday
planning activities of an RF
planner using ASSET. This
results in improved efficiency
and effectiveness of radio
planners.
MYRIAD
(PROPAGATION MODEL)
AIRCOMs MYRIAD model is
able to automatically adapt
to all cell sizes from micro to
macro, to all environments
from dense urban to maritime,
and to all technologies in
frequency ranges from
400MHz to 5GHz.
ARRAYWIZARD
ARRAYWIZARD automatically
maintains up-to-date arrays
and predictions, ensuring
that detailed and up-to-date
statistics on predicted
national network coverage
are produced reliably and
regularly.

SONORITY (AFP)
Using the SONORITY
automatic frequency planner
allows frequencies, BSICs,
HSNs and MAIOs to be
effectively planned, taking
into consideration intertechnology interference.
SONORITY delivers a
powerful new way to visualise
and interact with frequency
plans, utilising user-defined
criteria.
I-VIEW LIVE PLAN
A fully automated solution
which updates ASSET with
the latest live network
configuration and parameter
information. This allows
network expansion plans
and optimisation changes
to be performed using
the actual live network
configuration to ensure
maximum integrity of
the design.
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
ASSETs Financial Analysis
module has the power to
effectively tell the user if
there is even a business
case for rolling out a new
technology (e.g. LTE). It also
allows for detailed OPEX
and CAPEX what if planning
scenarios to be completed,
maximising revenues and
operating margins.

ENHANCED
MEASUREMENT SUPPORT
Allows third party
interference tables to be
loaded into ASSET. Planning
efficiency and accuracy is
then improved through
measurement based
neighbour planning, path loss
correction and propagation
model analysis.
ASSET EDS
For seamless integration of
ASSET information from any
source. Typical use cases
include the integration or
interaction with inventory
data, site acquisition and
rollout systems, performance
management data and the
live network itself. This new
solution affords users the
ability to consolidate
information from many
disparate sources ultimately
leading to faster and more
informed decisions.
ASSET WED
Web Enabled Data (WED) is
a simple method of viewing
data from external systems
inside ASSET. This allows
site plans, performance
management data, customer
care data and other useful
information to be displayed
within ASSET alongside the
relevant cells.
