MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 4-6; Luke 19:1-24 Monday, April 28 behalf. Job 36:2 Suffer me a little, and I will show thee that I have yet to speak on God's TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 7-9; Luke 19:25-48 Tuesday, April 29 John 16:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. Glorious Lord: What is the grief I feel today? The apostles sorrow was your death and subsequent absence. Even that was turned into joy when you rose from the grave and showed yourself alive. Do that for me today, Lord! The sorrows of the saints will be transformed (even ones that look like they will remain fountains of bitterness forever), if you will just appear in the midst while I pray. Then, the more sorrow the more joy. If I have loads of sorrow today, the Lords power will be present, and turn them into tons of joy, as it says in your word, 2 Cor. 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. The more bitter the trial, the sweeter the teaching. The swing of the pendulum far to the left only causes it to rebound further to the right. The deeper the valley, the higher the height on the other side. Use the remembrance of grief, Lord, as honey to sweeten the flavor of satisfaction. The brilliance of the diamond is more clearly seen because of the blackness of the velvet and the brightness of the light. I need the light, but I also need the dark pain. So cheer my soul today as I continue to pray. Make me as glad later on as I am gloomy this morning. Jesus promises that by a quantum chemistry my sorrow will be turned into joy. I do not understand it but I believe it. So let me begin to praise right now by way of anticipation. Psa. 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Thank you Lord Jesus! Amen. FRIDAY CHURCH PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 16-18; Luke 21 Friday, May 2 1 Cor. 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Merciful Lord and Master: We have a burden to lay before you and ask for your help. We grieve over the condition of Christianity in this city, because on every side we see saints living like sinners. Time was, when people got saved to live separated, but now there is hardly a sin of the world that is not found coming to church. And those who pretend to be spiritual are sometimes the first to speak against judging it. Lord, our hearts just sink when we hear about someone else who has fallen, or left our fellowship. We feel like we need to lay our hand on the ark to steady it, but we know it is in your keeping. So having spread this burden before you in prayer, we leave it there today. Many a Rabshakehs letter have we read lately, a tale of deception and sin. We bring it into the sanctuary and spread it before you, Lord. Rebuke the unbelief and carnality of those who drag the gospel back through the mud with their lives. Clean us so we can be set apart for the Eternal Purpose of God! We ask you to do this: revive a deep desire for spiritual growth in the hearts of everyone at our church. Help us live so near the Great Shepherd that we know his voice, so we wont be led away. Help us abide in the truth and walk in the power of your grace over time, because then we will impact this community. Revive us together in respect to your mission. Give us more intense faith in eternal realities. Burn into us by experience the way we should go. May we never be ashamed to glory in the hard but right path, the way trod by saints of old. Help us validate it even by bearing reproach for it. Put your life into us, so the Spirit of God will go with the words we proclaim, for Jesus sake. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 10-12; Luke 20:1-23 Wednesday, April 30 Deut. 7:22 And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee. Dear Heavenly Father: Thank you for not expecting me to win all my victories at a single blow or get all my growth in one day. Evil principalities and evil practices both die hard. In some spots it has taken me years of hearing preaching, coming to you in prayer, and going through pain just to drive-out even one of the many devices that defile my heart. Give me encouragement to prosecute the war without letupeven when there is no apparent successuntil we have revival! Help me not compromise but conquer. Let me never stop waging war against iniquity because of the temptation to seek popularity. Everything that is against your will and against your ways is to be put out by little and little. Only you can accomplish this, Lord! We have many servantsboth in our church and who are out of our church laboring in some other harvest field. Do not just work through them; work faithfully today in them. Work in their lives, as in mine, to put out those nations that are opposed to your plan, and be revived. ! Do it by degrees so I can learn endurance. ! Do it over time so I can learn patience. ! Do it through trials so I can increase faith. ! Do it in the night so I can be taught to watch. ! Do it by little and little so I can avoid carnal security and fleshly success and pride. And make me pray for more. Teach me to never sheathe the sword until the whole land is won. Give my heart a dose of courage. Lead me on little by little, because when many littles are added together they make a great work to your glory (and many little things will make a great week!). So I ask for this style of revival in Jesus glorious name. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 19-22; Luke 22:1-35 Saturday, May 3 Psa. 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace. Jesus Mighty God: The mountain of my sins has jumped into your grave, and is buried in the Red Sea of your blood. Consume all my corruptions, and kindle a flame of everincreasing love and holiness. The hurricanes of my life only prove the power promised from you. Why am I weak when I have your strength at hand? Why am I troubled when your peace is mine? Let me sing during the thunderstorm, Psa. 30:1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. The Devil and all my spiritual enemies are not allowed to win over me. I give all the glory to you, Lord! I was brought from the brink so I could tell about the patience of God with me. Nothing but grace keeps me out of the lowest hell. Grace drew me out of the ditch of sin. Because I love my Deliverer I should offer a song. You lifted me to the heights of the family of God, so now I sit in union with Christ in heavenly places (Eph. 1:3). I should lift your name just as high! Psa. 30:4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. I cannot praise you enough unless I unite with the hearts and voices of others. We are set-apart on purpose: to offer the daily sacrifice of praise. Help me abound in that heavenly duty, for I am all too often critical. Let my songs express a thankfulness, so your mercies can live again in joyful remembrance. Past mercies can tune my hearts harp when present joys are lacking. Let the joy of the Lord chase out intruding sorrow, for Jesus deserves my praise TODAY. Amen.

God and Almighty Redeemer: I know I cannot promote my integrity, nor seek notice for my zeal, but at the same time it is a sin for me to hide what you have given me for the good of others. Im not supposed to be a village in a valley, but a city set upon a hill. I must not be a candle hid under a bushel, but a put in a candlestick giving light to those who surround me. There is a time to be humble (and a time when hiding my praise is modesty), but the hiding of Christ in me cannot be justified. If I keep the truth of the gospelwhich truth has been so precious to meback from __________ or __________, then I both sin against them and offended God. Help me Lord, not to indulge my shyness lest I be useless to your cause. Christ was not ashamed of me. Make me willing to treat my feelings violently, to break-through my inhibitions, and tell others what Christ told me. I may not be able to speak with a trumpet tongue, but I can use my still, small voice. If I dont have a pulpit and dont own a press, I can still say with Peter and John, Acts 3:6 Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. Help me talk boldly to the Samaritan woman at the break table. If I cant preach a sermon, let me say praise the Lord, not just in the temple but also house to housein the cubicle and the store, in the midst of my own household as well as in the family of man. Let sweet water flow from hidden springs within me, so the streams of my testimony point others to the Savior as their source. I want to trade with my talent (not hide it) and bring good interest in souls to the Master. Lord, unloose my tongue for Jesus sake and the gospel! Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 13-15; Luke 20:1-23 Thursday, May 1 Josh. 3:5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the Lord will do wonders among you.

AWAKE, my soul, and with the sun thy daily stage of duty run; Shake off dull sloth, and joyful rise, to pay thy morning sacrifice. Thy precious time misspent, redeem, each present day thy last esteem, Improve thy talent with due care; for the great day thyself prepare.
By influence of the Light divine let thy own light to others shine. Reflect all Heavens propitious ways in ardent love, and cheerful praise. Wake, and lift up thyself, my heart, and with the angels bear thy part, Who all night long unwearied sing high praise to the eternal King. Lord, I my vows to Thee renew; disperse my sins as morning dew. Guard my first springs of thought and will, and with Thyself my spirit fill. Direct, control, suggest, this day, all I design, or do, or say, That all my powers, with all their might, in Thy sole glory may unite. Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

# INTERCEDE WITH GOD # INSTRUCT SAINTS # PROMPT PETITIONS # KICKSTART DEVOTION

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
