SCIENCE LESSON PLAN FOR YEAR 3 11.45 a.m 12.45 p.m 3 Alpha 34 students 4th April 2011 (Monday) Magnets The Strength of Magnets That magnets attract some materials At the end of the lesson, students will be able to: i. state that stronger magnet can attract more objects than a weaker magnets based on the observation. ii. demonstrate that magnets have different strength based on what they had learned. iii. form a conclusion about the strength of the magnet based on the observations. Strength of magnets

Teacher state that magnets also have different strength and the lesson today is about Strength of Magnets based on their textbook (page 46) Teacher do a SPS: demonstration of Observing magnet strength Identifying Teacher asks pupils to form a group. Teacher distributes some paper clips and different kind of magnet for each group. Teacher let students to do the observation among them. Teacher asks pupils to Teaching aids: : paper clips, magnets, worksheet Values: : Cooperative among pupils

Restructuring ideas (20 minutes)

Classifying the strength of magnets

identify the strength of magnets by following the instruction given. (appendix A) Teacher asks pupils to present their answers in the worksheet given (Appendix A) Teacher discusses and explains the topic and the finding together. Pupils are required to complete the exercise in their activity book (page 27 & 28) Teachers checks and discusses the answers with pupils. Teacher asks pupils to summarize todays lesson. Teacher ask question: a) What we have learned today? b) What is your conclusion from the observation?
