Conflict Style Inventory

Dr. Marshall Sashkin

This instrument assesses individual approaches to conflict and shows how to make conflict a constructive, rather than destructive, force in your workplace. This revised and improved edition includes new scales that measure a teams approach to conflict as well as each individuals approach. The instrument consists of 10 vignettes that describe realistic workplace conflicts. For each vignette, participants are presented with five possible responses to the conflict, and are instructed to indicate which ones most closely describe how they would actually deal with the situation. The results give respondents an accurate assessment and understanding of their own natural approaches to dealing with conflict and provide a starting point for developing the skills necessary to begin managing conflict constructively.

These are trying times. The economy has created an environment that forces customers to make more decisions, be more selective and cut back on items they may not have given a second thought to only a year ago. How can you ensure your company survives and thrives? The Constant Customer has the answer. It lays out the necessary guidelines to establishing the proper environment for the constant customer who comes back again and again and again.

The final chapter offers actions to be taken immediately including always taking care of your customer, getting to know your customers business as well as you know your own, establishing trust, willingly educating your customers on your business, surprising your customers daily with your service, and dealing with service problems and issues immediately.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Project Management

With the downsizing of businesses, project management is no longer a specialized profession but rather a set of competencies, skills, and behaviors that have general application. These tools must be easily understood and usable right away, in real time. The Partner is composed of step-by-step performance tools such as checklists, worksheets, guidelines, and other valuable support materials that will help plan and work through project events. These tools are organized around 20 key action items that guide the project management process.

Learn what skills are required to be a successful leader in todays business environment. The Competent Leader concentrates on the interpersonal skills required to be a great leader. Most people in supervisory, managerial, or other positions of leadership have exceptionally strong technical skills but are not equally strong in their interpersonal skills. This is because most people are hired and promoted based on how well they perform the operational functions of a position. This book will aid both new and experienced leaders in concentrating on the necessary skills to fine tune their relationship-building skills. The Competent Leader is written in an easy-to-understand how-to format; it offers action planning guides and assessments that help transfer newly learned skills back to the workplace.
