Starting point: I decided to research and write about sex trafficking in the United States for many reasons, one of which is because this subject it near and dear to my heart. I am a criminal justice major and have always been interested in sex crimes. I had always thought that sex trafficking happened in other countries and that something that harsh and degrading could never happen in the United States, but just recently my eyes were opened to a whole world of crime and disgust. I want to write this paper to open others eyes to this horrific tragedy many women and children are going through right here where we live. 4. Working knowledge: May 19, 2011|By Jeff Weiner, Orlando Sentinel (author is simply a reporter for the Orlando Sentinel) When researching my topic I came across many police reports stating that the offender (trafficker) posed as a modeling agent in order to lure girls into his home or allow him access to theirs, he would then force them into his ring of sex trafficking through physical abuse and manipulation.

http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2011-05-19/news/os-sex-trafficking-arrests20110519_1_records-show-rodriguez-kidnapping-and-battery-modeling-agency Posted January 2, 2011 (Could not find one author for this fact sheet but rather multiple references he or she listed) Sex traffickers use a variety of ways to condition their victims, including subjecting them to starvation, rape, gang rape, physical abuse, beating, confinement, threats of violence toward the victim and victims family, forced drug use, and shame. http://facts.randomhistory.com/human-trafficking-facts.html After doing a bunch of research on my topic I have decided to keep my question as it is. Although my question could be considered to broad I plan to focus/ key into a few many points within my paper. One subject being how they capture their victims, next how they control their victims and finally what happens to these victims (death, escape etc.).
