The capital of the Vanuatu islands group, Port Vila, is a small waterfront town that bustles with the local markets, duty free and souvenir shops and lots of people just relaxing along the harbour, under a coconut tree. Outer islands such as Tanna, with Mt Yasur volcano and Santo with the President Coolidge dive wreck, are less than an hours ight away and the resort can book a day or overnight visit if youre wanting to see more of beautiful Vanuatu whilst you are here. Getting to Vanuatu
Just a few short hours ight from Australia and New Zealand, booking your ights to Vanuatu is easy. Visit the websites of the airlines and check out the best fares for your dates. Usually, the earlier you book, the cheaper the seats and if you have Qantas Frequent Flyers or Virgin Velocity Rewards point, you can use your points to book online too. For Australian and New Zealand passport holders, you dont need to apply for a visa. Simply book your ticket, making sure you have used the correct spelling of your rst and last name as shown on your passport. Your passport will need to be valid for a minimum of 6 months from your departure date from home so check its expiry now and re-new if you need. Theres no extra departure or arrival tax to pay. All taxes and government charges are included in your ticket price. The resort can arrange your airport transfers for you when you book your accommodation. Youll be met and greeted by your smiling Ni-Vanuatu driver and its just a 15 minute drive to a nice cool Welkam Coconut Drink.

Air Vanuatu

Enjoy the best of both when you stay at either Erakor Island or Lagoon Beach - They are sister resorts, less than 15 minutes apart and you will be very welkam to use the facilities at both, for free.

Booking online
Its easy to book online with secure credit card payment. Just Check Availability on the resort website with your preferred stay dates and the available packages, rates and specials will be displayed.

Deposit & balance

To conrm your accommodation booking the deposit amount is AUD$250 and the balance is not due until 30 days before you come. The booking and payment methods and terms are shown on the booking page of the resort websites.

Sightseeing & Activities

Theres lot to see and do in Vanuatu whether you want to sunbake, swim, snorkel, dive, sh, sail, hike, horse-ride, dance, bungy jump, abseil, visit villages, drink kava, party at a Melanesian Feast or just relax in a hammock under a coconut palm, theres something to suit every holidaymaker. In and around Port Vila, youll nd local craft markets, cultural museum, cascading waterfalls, botanical gardens and more. A day trip around the main island of Efate will show you even more of island life, natural attractions and remnants from the past. You can visit the WWII Museum and collect from US army Coke bottle souvenirs, watch a re walking display in a local village, take a dip in the hot mineral springs, swim and snorkel in blue waters and soak up the wonderful feel of Island Time. Our resort guest relations teams will help you to experience the best of Vanuatu. Handy Travel Tips

Climate
Temperatures in April to October range from 22-30 C. November to January is warmer but still lovely. February and March are usually the hottest months to around 35 C so a good time for a cool swim.

Power & Mobiles

Power points are 240v (3 plug) the same as Aust & NZ. If you are bring your mobile phone, you need to set up International Roaming with your service provider before you come.

Currency
Vatu is the national currency and you will get a better exchange rate in Port Vila than at home. AUD and NZ dollars, as well as credit cards are accepted in most shops, restaurants etc.

Transport
The local buses and taxis are readily available, day and night. There are also several care hire companies so just bring your drivers license from home if you are thinking of hiring.

Health
Port Vila has a private health centre and hospital as well as ambulance service. There are also 2 large chemist stores in Port Vila. Remember to arrange your Travel insurance before you come.

Vaccinations
No vaccinations are required to visit Vanuatu. Malaria is not prevalent around Port Vila but you may want to ask your doctor about preventative medication if you are going to visit the outer islands.

Packing
The climate is warm and lifestyle is casual so you can pack light. Beach towels are provided to guests at both resorts. Reef shoes are a handy thing to bring and are readily available at home.

Visas
Visas are not required from most countries (incl Aust & NZ) however you need a return or ongoing airline ticket and your passport must be valid for 6 months past your stay.

Pikininis
There are no seat belt laws or car seats in Vanuatu but most drivers go slow to avoid the potholes! The resorts have portacots, highchairs, strollers and more so just let us know when you book.

Water
The town water supply is quite safe to drink however, if you prefer, bottled water is readily available everywhere for purchase and is quite inexpensive.
