What to study
You should do all the exercises in the unit but here are some suggestions: Section 1 Grammar exercises 1.1 and 1.5 and pronunciation exercises 1.6 and 1.7 are the most important. The grammar casino (1.5) is good fun! If you find the listening exercises 1.3 and 1.4 too difficult, leave them and do the listening exercises in Section 2.

A2.1 English
Section 2 Listening exercises 2.1, 2.3 and 2.4 and grammar exercises 2.5 and 2.6 are the most useful. Consolidation exercises: Exercises 3.1 and 3.4 are the most useful. All the exercises are self-correcting, so you do NOT have to post them to the Forum.

Compulsory tasks: describing what you did last summer

There are two parts for this activity:

Part 1: Write about last summer

1. Tell your classmates how you spent last summer. Write between 80 and 100 words. 2. Send your text to the folder Act1_lastsummer in your classroom Forum. Do not send attachments and do not upload your text to your Continuous Assessment Register.

Part 2: Comment on what your classmates say

1. After sending your contribution, read your classmates texts. 2. Choose one or two and leave a comment or ask a question. If somebody asks you a question, don't forget to answer!

The deadline for these tasks is Sunday 16th March. You can still post them after that date, but you are recommended not to leave your work to the last day. And remember, if you send in your work late, you may have to wait a while before you see your mark on the RAC.

Assessment
Your teacher will assess your contributions using the following rubric: Text: completion of the task, length, effective communication Respond to classmates texts: completion of the task, effective communication Good use of grammar, vocabulary and expressions from the unit Total mark 0-4 0-3 0-3 _ /10
