Q1. Who delivers Cisco certification exams?
A. Pearson VUE is Ciscos primary vendor for test delivery. For more information, visit
www.pearsonvue.com/cisco.
Q2. What is Pearson VUE?
A. Pearson VUE is the global leader in electronic testing for regulatory and certification boards. The company
provides a full suite of services, from test development and delivery to data management, in 165 countries.
Pearson VUE delivers exams through the worlds largest network of test centers, providing services for IT,
academic, government, and professional clients. In 2007, Pearson VUE was chosen as Ciscos primary
vendor for test delivery.
Q3. How can candidates locate a Pearson VUE test center in their area?
A. Pearson VUE has more than 5000 test centers in 165 countries worldwide. The quickest way to locate one
is to use the Test Center Locator. After selecting your country and city, you will see a list of all Pearson VUE
authorized test centers in the area that offer the exam.
Q4. How can candidates register for an exam at a Pearson VUE test center?
A. Pearson VUE offers three methods of registration:
Online, candidates can sign in to their accounts using a Pearson VUE username and password.
Candidates who do not have a username and password can create an account.
Another way to register for an exam is to contact a Pearson VUE representative.
Candidates can also call or visit a test center. To find the address and telephone number of a Pearson
VUE test center, use the Test Center Locator.
Q5. What special accommodations can be made for candidates with disabilities?
A. Candidates with special testing needs should contact Pearson VUE and ask for the special accommodations
department. Candidates must make the request at the time of registration. Special accommodations include
time extensions to accommodate learning disabilities or physical challenges. Vision-impaired candidates
who require a reader will have twice the amount of time to complete their exams in a separate room with a
reader and recorder. Other requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Q6. Are there any restrictions or special arrangements for candidates under the age of 18?
A. At testing workstations, a dialog box asks if the candidate is 18 years of age or older. Younger candidates
can take the exam, but before they receive their certification number, a parent or legal guardian must sign a
form to accept the terms and conditions of the Cisco Career Certification and Confidentiality Agreement. The

form must be returned to Cisco by mail or fax. The form and information on where to send it are available at

Q7. When I try to log in to Pearson VUE to register for the exam, my user credentialsusername or
password or bothare not working. Who can I contact to resolve this issue?
A. Contact Pearson VUE.
Q8. What if I scheduled my exam but did not receive any information?
A. After you have scheduled the exam, you should receive instructions and a confirmation email from Pearson
VUE that includes exam and appointment information, directions to the test center, instructions on what to
bring, and other pertinent information. If you have not received this email, contact Pearson VUE.
Q9. What are some recommended resources for preparing to take a certification exam?
A. Candidates can access resources through the Cisco Learning Network Certifications site.
