Water quality

Water pollution is occurred when the water is affected by other materials into the
water. There are many sources that causes the water pollution. The pollution is usually
occur when the pollution substance is flowing directly into the water. The construction of
the Kelau dam cause the increase of the river flow and corrodes the river banks, make the
water of the around river become polluted and shallower. This not only cause water
pollution, but also cause flooding, which give bad effects to all people.

When the water quality decrease, it will also affect the people around, especially who that
is still consume water directly from the river. Besides, there are so many aquatic life that
is also affected because of the water pollution.


2. Air quality

In the works of finishing the kelau dam, it was using lots of heavy machinery,
vehicles and machine. This equipment used is producing lots of smoke released to the air,
which affected the air quality. This cause the air polluted and effects the people. Besides,
it also effects the ozone layer, which is thinning from day to day.

The air quality become worse, and cause air pollution. This may cause health
effect, whether long term effect or short term effect. The smoke that is released in the air
may affects the inflammatory and respiratory system. It can also affect the environment
and animals.
With lots of trees is being flooded and cannot function anymore as the oxygen
supplies, the air quality is become worst because of the decrease of trees that helps to
absorbs carbon dioxide from the earth.


3. Vegetation impacts

In order of constructing kelau dam, about 1540 hectares of vegetation is flooded with the
water of the dam. Too many vegetation was effected which decrease the production of
oxygen that is important to all lives in the world. There are about 88 types of plants that
is damaged, which about 18 of them is known that having medicine value. With the
damage of all the species of vegetation, which may not be found in other place, it was so
waste in the sight of flora and fauna values.

Besides of that, it also affect the water quality when the plants is damaged because the
oxygen produced is decreased. It can be concluded that so many trees and plants was
being flooded and for sure affect the life of people and environment.
