1.1 Introduction

Throughout the world, marriage is regarded as a moment of
celebration and a milestone in adult life. Nowadays, early
marriage among teenagers increases day by day.For example,in
Kedah, statistics from the state Islamic religious department show
a 35% increase in marriage applications involving underage
individuals between 2008 and 2010.The department receive 75
marriage applications from underage individuals in 2008,99 in
2009 and 101 in 2010.Of total 90% involved girls under 16.One of
the reasons cited by parents for consenting to their underage
daughters to marry was that the girls were too wild and beyond
their control. They felt that getting them married would be the
best solution. Another was for economic relief. The statistics are
worrying as they show child marriage to be a significant problem
in Malaysia.

1.2 Definition of key term

Early marriage: married in a young age

1.3 Statement of problems

It will come as no surprise that people are not agree about early
marriage among teenagers today. It is due to several factors.
One of the factor is because of teenagers not fully understands
yet about the responsibility in marriage. They do not know their
character as a husband or wife. Actually, we should hold very big
responsibility as a wife and mom, while husband and dad.If they
do not responsible in their character, their family will in trouble.
Next, teenagers not really know how to take care of their children.
After married, of course they will have their own child. But, as a
young teenager they do not know how to take care of their baby.
Apart from that,in their young age, teenagers still not achieve fully
puberty. So,it will give bad effect as they are pregnant in young
age.It also will effect for their baby in the future.

1.4 Justification of the problem

This research is very important to see people in society agree or
not about early marriage among teenagers today.Furthermore,
this research, we can make teenagers change their mind that early
marriage is not good at all.
Actually, after marriage husband and wife must hold big
responsibility in a family. So, of course teenagers will not have
enough time to separate their time for study and take care of their
children.Besides, in early marriage, teenagers still not have
enough money to earn their family.Teenagers should focus on
study first and successful to have a good job, good salary to earn
their family.

on early marriage among teenagers is not good because:
i. Teenagers not fully understands yet about the responsibility
in marriage
ii. Teenagers not really known how to take care of their child
iii. Teenagers cannot make right decision for themselves and
not matured in thinking
iv. Early marriage can cause an increasing of divorce cases
v. Early marriage can disturb teenagers successfulness
vi. This problem of early marriage still can be barricade

Chapter 2
2.0 Introduction

This chapter outlines the research approach adapted in this
research study. This research study investigates early marriage among
teenagers. This chapter gave an overview of the appropriate research
assumption and case study strategy adapted in this research study.
Furthermore, the analytical framework to be used to analyse the
materials are given. The research approach detailed in this research
will assist in the answering of the research question posses. The
succeeding chapter discusses the process of gathering of the materials.

2.1 research sample

The respondents are all among the students of Kolej Mara Kulim
(KMKu). They are all among the age of 18 and 19 which is very
suitable with our research project. There were no significant race
grouping, where all of the student here are Malay. There were 60
females student (60%) and 40 males student (40%) with total 100
students.

2.2 reseacrh instrument

A set of questions has been developed to distribute to all of
selected respondent. The question have contained 9 questions with
objective question.
Each respondent are required to tick their gender and write
down their origin and their program. At early phase of questionnaire,
the question just asking about their opinion on agreement about early
marriage. The development of question required respondent to think
about the disadvantages of early marriage. Through our observation
and interview, least of the respondent like to marry early and most of
them dont want to marry early.

2.3 Data Collection

Data collection was done by distributing the questionnaire to
the respondents. After the respondent completed the forms, the
questionnaire was collected to carry on the analysis process. They
spent 5 to 6 minutes to finish the question without rushing. The
researchers will analyse the data obtained and come up with a
pattern of answers before plotting them in charts.

3.0 ANALYSIS OF THE FINDINGS

3.1 Gender of the Respondents.

Figure 1: Number of respondents gender

100 questionnaires were distributed to 100 students in Kolej
Mara Kulim. Out of 100, 60 respondents were female and 40

Chapter 4
Conclusion
This chapter details the concluding remarks of the dissertation.
The purpose of this research study was to identify about the early
marriage among teenagers. The review directed the study in order to
study the phenomenon. The research approach and analytical
framework for answering the research questions were justified. The
gathering material and the use of the analytical framework to
analyses, interpret and discuss gathered materials were detailed. The
analysis, interpretation and discussion produced a numbers of points
that assisted in answering the research questions.

The first objective of the study was to investigate if teenagers
understand or not about the responsibilities in marriage. The
investigation turns out those teenagers not fully understands yet
about the responsibility in marriage. This is because they still young
and only think about enjoying themselves. The second objective of
the study is did teenagers know how to take care of their child? The
result is teenagers still need to learn more about how to take care of
their child from adult. This is to prevent something like child abuse
case from happening. Teenagers cannot make right decision for them
and not matured in thinking. Thats why many child abuse cases
were recorded. Teenagers always got emotional when its come to
babies. They think that babies are annoying and kept crying when
something is wrong. From that statement, we can say how teenagers
thinking. We cannot deny this fact. That is our third observation from
the investigation.

More than that, we also got to investigate that early marriage
can cause an increasing of divorce cases. The result turns out those
73 respondents out of 100 agree about the statement. Last but not
least, we also came out with objective that early marriage can
disrupt teenagers successfulness. That objective is true because
teenagers cannot divide their time yet between marriage and
studies. This will make them confuse to think about which one is the
most important, marriage or studies.

Few procedures were involved in promoting data and
information collection. Hence, validate their thesis statement. All the
methodology involved was preparing the questionnaire, observation
through senses and team members experience.

The data collected were processed to produce useful and
meaningful information for future reference. Graph and graphical
means were taken from the information for case of pattern
observation.

Researchers hypothesis was early marriage among teenagers is
not good. Based on the respondents comment, most of them agree
with the hypothesis. So, as conclusion, our hypothesis is accepted.
