9/11 Terrorist Attacks

Aneel Anwar
4 Causes
Deliberate attempt by terrorist organization
to attack the foreign policy of U.S.
U.S. garnering a lot of hostility because of its
support for the establishment and
continuation of Israel.
Islamic fundamentalists calling on the U.S. to
withdraw from region and stop supporting.
Terrorist belief that giving their lives in order
to kill many of their western enemies was a
holy act given by god.

4 Figures
Hijackers- Saudi Arabians that knew what
they were doing.
Both Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda- Claimed it was
their doing after some time.
Government- Its foreign policies caused the
attacks.
Firefighters, policeman, and citizens of New
York- They were there when it happened with
firefighters helping with their best effort to
save people.
4 Details
There was an attempt to crash a plane into the
white house but it failed due to passengers
overtaking the terrorist control of the plane.
Hijackers aboard flight 77 crashed the plane into
the western side of the pentagon in Washington
D.C.
North tower was attacked first and then the
south tower after 17 minutes, killing many
people instantly.
All flights had to be grounded immediately to
the nearest airport due to this tragic event by
the FAA.
4 Effects
Unity is gone- When Americans were unified in
tragedy, legislation passed quickly and things got
done, but now voters had to wait four months to get
debt crisis solved.
No more money- Government floundered with failure
to keep U.S. moving forward, all of this due to wars
after the attacks.
Economic Recession- Because of all military and war
spending added to bailouts, now putting American tax
payers on disastrous foreign policy measures.
Ultra-Conservative Backlash- Because military hasnt
cut spending, budget cuts have to come from
somewhere. So cuts in domestic spending or others
programs.

Three things to know about the
situation
On this day, nearly 3,000 people were
killed, 400 were police officers and
firefighters.
9/11 was not the first terrorist attack on
World Trade Center. A bombing in 1993
killed six people.
9/11 was the single largest loss of life
from a foreign attack on American soil.
