Passover Haggadah -

Israel365 Presents
"Next Year in Jerusalem!"
Thank you for downloading our eHaggadah!
Shalom,
The Seder is the oldest ritual in Western Civilization and has been observed by Jewish families in an unbroken
chain for thousands of years. Each year, dozens of new Haggadah Commentaries are published adding to the great
repertoire of Jewish literature. With all of the brilliant Haggadot published over the generations, it is safe to say that
never before in Jewish History have we had a Video Haggadah! What you are holding in your hands or viewing on
your computer screen or tablet is entirely revolutionary for the People of the Book, but with the power of video
in our day and age, we hope that our Haggadah contributes to your preparation for Passover and appreciation of
the holiday.
In addition to the unique video commentary is a complete version of the Passover Haggadah in Hebrew and
in English along with the transliteration for key passages for the Hebraically Challenged. We have included
instructions along the way to make this Haggadah perfect for Passover Pros and Seder Newbies.
Id like to thank our incredible photographer Yehoshua Halevi whose photos of Israel help bring the Land to life and
add glorious color to these pages and Cantor Jack Chomsky of Columbus, Ohio for graciously sharing his audio
Seder melodies. This Haggadah would never have been possible without the creative fair of Lorien Balofsky whose
tireless dedication and attention to detail resulted in this one of a kind work. Thanks also go Aliza Abrahamovitz
for watching hundreds of videos and selecting the best ones as well as her meaningful commentary and to Jillian
Ezekiel, Ayal Kellman and Avery Ratz for their support in producing Israel365 each day. Their passionate dedication
is an example to all how every one of us can help support Israel and make a big diference each and every day.
With the Blessings of Israel,

Israel Moment
Understand the inspiring connec-
tion between the original redemption of
the Jews and our modern State of Israel.
The Hebrew word Seder means
order because the night consists of ffteen
orderly steps that each Seder follows. Why
cant each person simply celebrate our
night of liberation as he or she sees ft? To
demonstrate the important lesson that
true freedom is not achieved by everyone
doing whatever he wants, but following the
word of God. Despite the seemingly rigid
parameters, go visit any two Jewish homes
and you will not fnd two identical Seders.
Each family adds their own customs and
personality so that, in the end, the Seder
is a charming balance between structure
and spontaneity. This is the secret recipe for
how an ancient story never gets old!

This is the bread of afictionthat our fathers ate
in the land of Egypt. Whoever is hungry, let him
come and eat; whoever is in need, let him come
and conduct the Seder of Passover. This year we
are here; next year in the land of Israel. This year
we are slaves; next year we will be free people.
What makes this night diferent
from all other nights?
On all other nightswe eat chametz or
Matzah, but and on this night only Matzah.
On all other nightswe eat any kind of
vegetables, but on this night Maror.
On all other nightswe do not dip even once,
but on this night we do so twice.
On all other nightswe eat sitting upright or
reclining, but on this night we all recline.

We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and the
Lord, our God, took us out from there with a
strong hand and with an outstretched arm. If
the Holy One, blessed be He, had not taken our
fathers out of Egypt, then we, our children and
our children's children would have remained en-
slaved to Pharaoh in Egypt. Even if all of us were
wise, all of us understanding, all of us knowing
the Torah, we would still be obligated to discuss
the exodus from Egypt. Everyone who discusses
the exodus from Egypt at length is praiseworthy.
It happened that Rabbi Eliezer, Rabbi Yehoshua,
Rabbi Elazar ben Azaryah, Rabbi Akiva and Rabbi
Tarphonwere reclining at a Seder in B'nei Berak.
They were discussing the exodus from Egypt all
that night, until their students came and told
them: "Our Masters, the time has come for recit-
ing the morning Shema."
Rabbi Eleazar ben Azaryah said: "I am like a
man of seventy years old, yet I did not succeed
in proving that the exodus from Egypt must be
mentioned at night-until Ben Zoma explained
it: "It says (Deut. 16:3), 'That you may remember the
day you left Egypt all the days of your life;' now
'the days of your life' refers to the days, and the
additional word all' indicates the inclusion of
the nights." The sages, however, said: "'The days
of your life' refers to the this world; and 'all' indi-
cates the inclusion of the days of Messiah."

Uncover the Matzah and say:
Magid
The central focus of the Seder is
the section of Magid. Magid (( means
to tell and shares the same root as in
Haggadah (( based on Exodus (13:8):
- vehigad'ta l'bincha: "And you
shall tell your children, on that day, saying:
that on account of this the Lord took me
out of Egypt." However, the same Hebrew
root -- has another meaning as well and
that is to bind, join and connect. What is
the connection between telling a story and
joining together? By recounting the story
of the Exodus, we are doing more than
recalling events that occurred long ago.
Telling our story connects one generation
to the next, joining us to our grandparents
and our grandchildren.

The Four Sons
30,865 views - 4:08
We all have families comprised
of different personality types. It
may be the quirky adolescent, the
rambunctious toddler, the aunt that
talks too much or the introverted uncle. And who knows what
will happen when they all come together for a traditional
family meal?! In the story of the four sons, four different
types of children arrive at the Seder, each with their own types
of questions and attitudes. This cute video animates their
different personalities, and provides a glimpse as to how they
can all still get along as a family.
Blessed is the Omnipresent One,
blessed is He.Blessed is He who
gave the Torah to His people
Israel, blessed is He.
The Torah speaks of four children: One is wise,
one is wicked, one is simple and one does not
know how to ask.
The wise one, what does he say?"What are the
testimonies, the statutes and the laws which the
Lord, our God, has commanded you?" (Deut. 6:20)
You, in turn, shall instruct him in the laws of Pass-
over, up to 'one is not to eat any dessert after the
Passover Lamb.'
The wicked one, what does he say? "What is
this service to you?" He says 'to you,' but not to
him. By excluding himself from the community
he has denied that which is fundamental. You,
therefore, blunt his teeth and say to him: "It is be-
cause of this that the Lord did for me when I left
Egypt" (Ex. 13); 'for me' - but not for him; If he had
been there, he would not have been redeemed."
The simple one, what does he say? "What is
this?" Thus you shall say to him: "With a strong
hand the Lord took us out of Egypt, from the
house of slaves." (Ex. 13:14)

As for the one who does not know how to ask,
you must initiate him, as it is said: "You shall tell
your child on that day, 'It is because of this that
the Lord did for me when I left Egypt.'" (Ex. 13:8)
One may thinkthat the discussion of the exodus
must be from the frst of the month. The Torah
therefore says, 'On that day.' (Ex. 13:8) 'On that day,'
however, could mean while it is yet daytime; the
Torah therefore says, 'It is because of this.' (Ex. 13:8)
The expression 'because of this' can only be said
when Matzah and Maror are placed before you.
In the beginning our fathers served idols; but
now the Omnipresent One has brought us close
to His service, as it is said: "Joshua said to all the
people: Thus said the Lord, the God of Israel, 'Your
fathers used to live on the other side of the river
- Terach, the father of Abraham and the father of
Nachor, and they served other gods. "And I took
your father Abraham from beyond the river, and
I led him throughout the whole land of Canaan.
I increased his seed and gave him Isaac, and to
Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. To Esau I gave Mount
Seir to possess it, and Jacob and his sons went
down to Egypt." (Joshua 24:2-4)

Abraham: The First Hebrew
Ever wonder where the word
Hebrew - eev-REET comes from? It
is based on the root - ah-VAHR, which
literally means to pass. Father Abraham is
called (av-rah-HOM ha-iv-RI)
because he literally came from the OTHER
side of the river. God took Abraham from the
other side of the river, and brought him into
the Land of Canaan. Abrahams ideas also
seemed to be from the other side since
they were so counter-cultural. The Jewish
people were intended to be the worlds
moral compass by serving as a reminder not
to conform to what is currently popular, but
to remain loyal to our Hebrew roots.

Blessed is He who keeps His promise to Israel,
blessed is He.For the Holy One, blessed is He, cal-
culated the end of the bondage, in order to do as
He had said to our father Abraham at the "Cov-
enant between the Portions," as it is said: "And He
said to Abraham, 'You shall know that your seed
will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and
they will enslave them and make them sufer, for
four hundred years. But I shall also judge the na-
tion whom they shall serve, and after that they
will come out with great wealth.'" (Genesis 15:13-14)
This is what has stood by our
fathers and us. For not just
one alone has risen against
us to destroy us, but in every
generation they rise against us
to destroy us; and the Holy One,
blessed be He, saves us from
their hand.
Go forth and learnwhat Laban the Aramean wanted
to do to our father Jacob. Pharaoh had issued a decree
against the male children only, but Laban wanted to
uproot everyone - as it is said: "The Aramean wished
to destroy my father; and he [Jacob] went down to
Egypt and sojourned there, few in number; and he
became there a nation - great and mighty and nu-
merous." (Deut. 26:5)

"And he went down to Egypt"- forced by Divine decree.
"And he sojourned there" - this teaches that our
father Jacob did not go down to Egypt to settle,
but only to live there temporarily. Thus it is said,
"They said to Pharaoh, We have come to sojourn
in the land, for there is no pasture for your ser-
vants' focks because the hunger is severe in the
land of Canaan; and now, please, let your ser-
vants dwell in the land of Goshen." (Gen. 47:4)
"Few in number" - as it is said: "Your fathers
went down to Egypt with seventy persons, and
now, the Lord, your God, has made you as numer-
ous as the stars of heaven." (Deut. 10:22)
"And he became there a nation" - this teaches
that Israel was distinctive there.
"Great, mighty" -as it is said: "And the children
of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly,
and multiplied and became very, very mighty,
and the land became flled with them." (Ex. 1:7)
"And numerous" - as it is said: "I caused you
to thrive like the plants of the feld, and you in-
creased and grew and became very beautiful
your bosom fashioned and your hair grown long,
but you were naked and bare." (Ezekiel 16:6)

The Hebrew word for distinctive,
metsuyan (( might sound familiar. It is
derived from the same word as Zion ((,
teaching us that Gods holy city is not just
a location, it is a way of life. God created a
special place on earth which would be the
ideal incubator for spiritual growth. The
word Zion therefore describes not only
where we live but how we must live.

they multiply and, if there should be a war against
us, they will join our enemies, fght against us

"And they made us sufer" - as it is said: "They

them sufer with their burdens, and they built stor-

"And they put hard work upon us" -as it is said:

groaned because of the servitude, and they cried
out. And their cry for help from their servitude
rose up to God." (Ex. 2:23)

The Hebrew word for bad here
also contains the exact opposite meaning,
friendship. The Haggadah is making a
subtle observation and describing the
origins of Hebrew slavery. At frst the
Egyptians befriended the Jews and only
gradually did they begin to institute
discriminatory laws, persecution and fnally
slavery but it started with friendship. This
pattern has repeated itself throughout
Jewish history where a host nation invites
Jews in and ofers protection, but as the
generations go on, the hospitality runs
out and anti-Semitism begins to appear.
The pattern always follows Genesis (12:3)
"Those who bless you will be blessed and
those who curse you will be cursed." As soon
as the host country begins to curse the Jews
through discrimination and persecution, its
days are numbered and it soon follows the
trajectory established frst by the Egyptians:
from a major world empire to a historical
footnote.

Rabbi Yossi the Gallilean said:How do you know
that the Egyptians were stricken by ten plagues
in Egypt, and then were struck by ffty plagues
at the sea?
In Egypt it says of them, "The magicians said to
Pharaoh 'This is the fnger of God.' (Ex. 8:15) At the
sea it says, "Israel saw the great hand that the
Lord laid against Egypt; and the people feared
the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in
His servant Moses." (Ex. 14:31) Now, how often were
they smitten by 'the fnger'?Ten plagues. Thus
you must concludethat in Egypt they were smit-
ten by ten plagues, and at the sea they were
smitten by ffty plagues.
Rabbi Eliezer said: How do we know that each
individual plague which the Holy One, blessed
be He, brought upon the Egyptians in Egypt
consisted of four plagues? For it is said: "He
sent against them His ferce anger, fury, and
indignation, and trouble, a discharge of mes-
sengers of evil" (Psalms 78:49): 'Fury,' is one; 'Indig-
nation,' makes two; 'Trouble,' makes three; 'Dis-
charge of messengers of evil,' makes four. Thus
you must now saythat in Egypt they were struck
by forty plagues, and at the sea they were strick-
en by two hundred plagues.

Wonders of Water
The Hebrew word for sea is -
yahm, while the word for water, - may-
EEM, is quite similar. The word for water, ,
ma-YEEM provides an interesting example of
how the Hebrew word expresses the essence
of the thing it names. This word is made
from two of the letters (mem) and one
letter - (yud). Science tells us that a water
molecule, H2O is made up of two atoms of
hydrogen surrounding one atom of oxygen.
In the Hebrew word, this exact structure
is refected; the letter (mem) represents
the hydrogen while the (yud) represents
the oxygen. From Letters of Fire by Rabbi
Matityahu Glazerson.

Rabbi Akiva said: How do we know that each
individual plague which the Holy One, blessed
be He, brought upon the Egyptians in Egypt
consisted of fve plagues? For it is said: "He
sent against them his ferce anger, fury, and
indignation, and trouble, a discharge of mes-
sengers of evil": "His ferce anger," is one; "fury,"
makes two; "indignation," makes three; "trou-
ble," makes four; "discharge of messengers of
evil," makes fve. Thus you must now say that in
Egypt they were struck by ffty plagues, and at
the sea they were stricken by two hundred and
ffty plagues.

The Hebrew word Dayenu loosely

song (feel free to add your own verses):

forty years, and fed us the manna, and gave us
the Shabbat, and brought us before Mount Sinai,
and gave us the Torah, and brought us into the
land of Israel and built for us the Chosen House
to atone for all our sins.
Rabban Gamliel used to say: Whoever does not
discuss the following three things on Passover
has not fulflled his duty, namely:
The Passover Lamb,
The Matzah,
and the Bitter Herbs.
The Passover Lamb that our fathers ate during
the time of theTemple - for what reason did they
do so? Because the Omnipresent passed over
our fathers' houses in Egypt, as it says, "You shall
say, It is a Passover-ofering to the Lord, because
He passed over the houses of the children of Is-
rael in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians with
a plague, and He saved our houses. And the peo-
ple bowed and prostrated themselves." (Ex. 12:27)
This Matzah that we eat for what reason? Be-
cause the dough of our fathers did not have time
to become leavened before the King of the kings
We dont automatically recognize
the two words in "Passover" but the holiday
name is really a combination referring to
when God "passed over" the Jewish homes
before the Exodus from Egypt. The Hebrew
word is Pesach and is used not only in
Exodus (12:23) when God "passed over",
but in Isaiah (31:5) where God promises
to guard Jerusalem from all harm, "Like
fying birds, so will God protect Jerusalem,
protecting and rescuing, passing over
(pasoakh) and delivering."

Baking Matzah in Israel
5,433 views - 6:21
The Matzah we eat on Passover
reminds us of the haste in which the
Children of Israel left Egypt. Matzah,
made of only four and water, must be
prepared quickly. Watch how Matzah is baked today in this
informative video.

of kings, the Holy One, blessed be He, revealed
Himself to them and redeemed them. Thus it is
said:"They baked Matzah-cakes from the dough
that they had brought out of Egypt, because it
was not leavened; for they had been driven out
of Egypt and could not delay, and they had also
not prepared any other provisions." (Ex. 12:39)
This Bitter Herb that we eat for what reason?Be-
cause the Egyptians embittered our fathers' lives
in Egypt, as it is said: "They made their lives bitter
with hard service, with mortar and with bricks,
and with all manner of service in the feld; all
their service which they made them serve with
rigor." (Ex. 1:14)
In every generation a person is obligated to
regard himself as if he had come out of Egypt,
as it is said: "You shall tell your child on that day,
it is because of this that the Lord did for me when
I left Egypt." (Ex. 13:8) The Holy One, blessed be He,
redeemed not only our fathers from Egypt, but
He redeemed also us with them, as it is said: "It
was us that He brought out from there, so that He
might bring us to give us the land that He swore
to our ancestors." (Deut. 6:23)
Thus it is our duty to thank, to laud, to praise, to
glorify, to exalt, to adore, to bless, to elevate and
to honor the One who did all these miracles for
Raise the Bitter Herbs and say:
I was a slave in Egypt. I received the
Torah at Mount Sinai. Together with Joshua
and Elijah, I crossed the Jordan River. I entered
Jerusalem with David, was exiled from it with
Zedekiah, and did not forget it by the rivers of
Babylon. When the Lord returned the captives
of Zion, I dreamed among the builders of its
ramparts. I fought the Romans and was banished
from Spain. I was bound to the stake in Mainz.
I studied Torah in Yemen and lost my family in
Kishinev. I was incinerated in Treblinka, rebelled
in Warsaw, and emigrated to the Land of Israel,
the country when I had been exiled and where I
had been born, from which I come and to which
I return. I am a wandering Jew who follows in the
footsteps of his forebears, and just as I escorted
them there and then, so do my forebears
accompany me and stand here with me today.

our fathers and for us. He took us from slavery to
freedom, from sorrow to joy, and from mourning
to festivity, and from deep darkness to great light
and from bondage to redemption. Let us there-
fore recite before Him Halleluyah, Praise God.
Halleluyah - Praise God, ofer praise, you ser-
vants of the Lord; praise the Name of the Lord.
May the Lord's Name be blessed from now and
to all eternity. From the rising of the sun to its set-
ting, the Lord's Name is praised. The Lord is high
above all nations, His glory is over the heavens.
Who is like the Lord, our God, who dwells on high
yet looks down so low upon heaven and earth. He
raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy
from the dunghill, to seat them with nobles, with
the nobles of His people. He restores the barren
woman to the house, into a joyful mother of chil-
dren. Halleluyah - praise God. (Psalm 113)
When Israel went out of Egypt, the House of Ja-
cob from a people of a foreign language, Judah
became His holy one, Israel His dominion. The
sea saw and fed, the Jordan turned backward.
The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like
young sheep. What is with you, O sea, that you
fee; Jordan, that you turn backward? Mountains,
why do you skip like rams; hills, like a pool of wa-
ter, the fint-stone into a spring of water. (Psalm 114)

Judah His Holy One
- Ye-hu-dah (Judah) was the
name given by Leah to her fourth son. The
name Judah / Yehudah means thankfulness
as Leah said, let me gratefully praise God
(Genesis 29:35). Leah was especially grateful
now that she had been granted more than
her rightful share after giving birth to
the 4th of the 12 sons of Jacob. The Jews
have come to be called Ye-hu-dim, after
Judah, because of the vital characteristic
of always being grateful to God and always
recognizing that He has given us more than
our rightful share.

Jeru-Shalom
The frst Hebrew word most
people learn is Shalom - which has
three meanings: Hello, Goodbye and Peace.
It is the word with which friends greet
one another, it is how Israelis answer their
phones and begin emails. But, Shalom is
more than a greeting, it is also a blessing.
Peace is the most important gift we can ask
from God, on an individual level, as families
and between countries. It is therefore of
most signifcance, that the worlds holiest
city, Jerusalem - - has the word
at its core because it is meant to be
the source for all peace on earth.

The Hebrew word for mercy, /
ra-chem isnt only an adjective, its also a
noun that means womb /re-chem
because a mother has a natural love for her
ofspring. Gods mercy towards us is like the
instinctively tender and warm love that a
mother has for her child.

While in previous generations, Jews
had few friends in the world, thankfully
today, millions of non Jews stand
proudly with Israel. One such hero is
Pastor Umar Mulinde who was viciously attacked in his home
country of Uganda in response to his passionately pro Israel
views. Meet Pastor Mulinde and hear his incredible story!
He is a tower of salvation to His king, and be-
stows kindness upon His anointed, to David and
his descendants forever. He who makes peace in
His heights, may He make peace for us and for all
Israel; and say, Amen.
Fear the Lord, you His holy ones, for those who
fear Him sufer no want. Young lions are in need
and go hungry, but those who seek the Lord shall
not lack any good. Give thanks to the Lord for He
is good, for His kindness is everlasting. You open
Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living
thing. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
and the Lord will be his trust.
Blessed are You, Lord, our
God, King of the universe, who
creates the fruit of the vine.

And they shield Your people Israel from their

Pour out Your wrathupon the nations that do not
acknowledge You, and upon the kingdoms that do
not call upon Your Name. For they have devoured
Jacob and laid waste his habitation. (Psalms 79:6,7) Pour

Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to Your Name give
glory, for the sake of Your kindness and Your truth.
Why should the nations say, "Where, now, is their
God?" Our God is in heaven, whatever He desires,
He does. Their idols are of silver and gold, the prod-
uct of human hands: they have a mouth, but can-
not speak; they have eyes, but cannot see; they have
ears, but cannot hear; they have a nose, but cannot
smell; their hands cannot feel; their feet cannot
walk; they can make no sound with their throat. Like
them should be their makers, everyone that trusts
in them. Israel, trust in the Lord. He is their help and
their shield. House of Aaron, trust in the Lord. He is
their help and their shield. You who fear the Lord,
trust in the Lord. He is their help and their shield.
The Lord, mindful of us, will bless. He will bless the
House of Israel; He will bless the House of Aaron;
He will bless those who fear the Lord, the small with
the great. May the Lord increase blessing upon you,
upon you and upon your children. You are blessed
unto the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. The
heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth
He gave to the children of man. The dead do not
praise God, nor do those that go down into the si-
lence of the grave. But we will bless God, from now
to eternity. Halleluyah Praise God. (Ps. 115)

Throughout the Bible, the Jewish
people are known by the name Yisrael. The
name Israel / refers to both the
Land and the People and contains great
insights. It begins with the smallest letter
of the Hebrew alphabet - - and concludes
with the largest letter - . This contrast
alludes to both its humble origins as well
as its glorious destiny. Additionally, the
name Israel / contains an acronym
for every one of our spiritual ancestors,
the three Patriarchs - Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob, and the Four Matriarchs - Sarah,
Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah:
Yod = Yaakov, Yizhak;
Shin = Sarah;
Resh = Rachel, Rivkah;
Alef = Avraham;
Lamed = Leah.

I love the Lord, because He hears my voice, my
prayers. For He turned His ear to me; all my days
I will call upon Him. The pangs of death encom-
passed me, and the agonies of the grave came
upon me, trouble and sorrow I encounter and I
call u upon the Name of the Lord: Please, Lord,
deliver my soul. The Lord is gracious and just, our
God is compassionate. The Lord watches over
the simpletons; I was brought low and He saved
me. Return, my soul, to your rest, for the Lord
has dealt kindly with you. For You have delivered
my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my foot
from stumbling. I will walk before the Lord in the
lands of the living. I had faith even when I said,
"I am greatly aficted;" even when I said in my
haste, "All men are deceitful."
What can I repay the Lord for all His kindness to
me?I will raise the cup of salvation and call upon
the Name of the Lord. I will pay my vows to the
Lord in the presence of all His people. Precious
in the eyes of the Lord is the death of His pious
ones. I thank you, Lord, for I am Your servant. I am
Your servant the son of Your handmaid, You have
loosened my bonds. To You I will bring an ofer-
ing of thanksgiving, and I will call upon the Name
of the Lord. I will pay my vows to the Lord in the
presence of all His people, in the courtyards of
the House of the Lord, in the midst of Jerusalem.

Delight
Sometimes rearranging the letters
of a Hebrew word uncovers a fascinating
lesson. Oddly enough, - oh-NEG
(delight) contains the same three letters
as - ne-GAH (plague). The key to the
mystery depends on where one places the
letter (ayin) which in Hebrew means eye.
It is through our eyes that we are aware of
our physical surroundings as well as our
spiritual reality. When the word begins
with (ayin), which indicates a spiritual
awareness, then a person is aware of the
spiritual in this world and therefore enjoys
it (). However, when the (ayin) is
placed at the end of the word, an outlook
on life where spirituality takes a back seat, a
person lives a life of sufering ().

The Hebrew word for confnes
-- is closely related to the word for
Egypt - meetz-ra-YEEM. On a mystical
level, Egypt symbolizes the agonizing straits
that constrict us. Each of us occasionally
fnds ourselves trapped, sometimes for
physical reasons, such as poverty or illness
and sometimes for psychological reasons,
such as depression or despair. Passover is
the festival of hope and faith, teaching us
that the Almighty saves us from the narrow
confnes.
Praise the Lord, all nations. Extol Him, all peo-
ples. For His kindness was mighty over us, and
the truth of the Lord is everlasting. Halleluyah
Praise God. (Ps. 117)
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His
kindness is everlasting.
Let Israel sayit, for His kindness is everlasting.
Let the House of Aaron sayit, for His kindness
is everlasting.
Let those who fear the Lord sayit, for His kind-
ness is everlasting. (Ps. 118)
Out of narrow confnes I called to God; God
answered me with abounding relief. The Lord is
with me, I will not fear what can man do to me?
The Lord is with me, through my helpers, and I
can face my enemies. It is better to rely on the
Lord, than to trust in man. It is better to rely on
the Lord, than to trust in nobles. All nations sur-
round me, but I cut them down in the Name of
the Lord. They surrounded me, they encom-
passed me, but I cut them down in the Name of
the Lord. They surrounded me like bees, yet they
are extinguished like a fre of thorns; I cut them
down in the Name of the Lord. My foes pushed
me again and again to fall, but the Lord helped
me. God is my strength and song, and this has been my salvation. The sound of joyous song and sal-
vation is in the tents of the righteous: "The right hand of the Lord performs deeds of valor. The right
hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord performs deeds of valor." I shall not die, but I
shall live and relate the deeds of God. God has chastised me, but He did not give me over to death.

You are the Almighty God in the power of Your strength;the Great in the

He who dwells for eternity, lofty and holy is His Name. And it is written:

By the mouth of the upright You are exalted;
By the lips of the righteous You are blessed;
By the tongue of the pious You are sanctifed;
And among the holy ones You are praised.
In the assemblies of the myriads of Your people, the House of Israel, Your
Name, our King, shall be glorifed with song in every generation. For such
is the obligation of all creatures before You, Lord, our God and God of our
fathers, to thank, to laud, to praise, to glorify, to exalt, to adore, to bless, to
elevate and to honor You, even beyond all the words of songs and praises
of David son of Yishai, Your anointed servant.
And therefore may Your Name be praised forever, our King, the great

The Holy City
Holiness is a central theme in
the Torah and Judaism. How do we, mere
mortals, try to achieve holiness? The
underlining meaning of the Hebrew word
- ko-DESH is separation. So when
Leviticus (19:2) tells us, You shall be holy
the best approach is to separate ourselves
and stay away from immorality and bad
infuences.
Blessed are You, Lord, our
God, King of the universe, who
creates the fruit of the vine.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the uni-
verse for the vine and the fruit of the vine, for
the produce of the feld, and for the precious,
good and spacious land which You have favored
to give as an heritage to our fathers, to eat of its
fruit and be satiated by its goodness. Have mercy,
Lord our God, on Israel Your people, on Jerusa-
lem Your city, on Zion the abode of Your glory, on
Your altar and on Your Temple. Rebuild Jerusa-
lem, the holy city, speedily in our days, and bring
us up into it, and make us rejoice in it, and we will
bless You in holiness and purity (On Shabbat add:
May it please You to strengthen us on this Shabbat
day) and remember us for good on this day of the
Festival of Matzot. For You, Lord, are good and do
good to all, and we thank You for the land and for
the fruit of the vine. Blessed are You, Lord, for the
land and for the fruit of the vine.

Midnight Escape
22,260 views - 3:41
This video depicts a cherubic
messenger delivering freedom's light to
those in need of her precious gift. Each
one spontaneously runs to the source...
Zion, which also brings them together and connects them. This
contemporary take on our Passover liberation, "In the Middle of
the Night", renews the message that we are freed so that we
may run to be our real selves; to love the Land; to cherish our
peoplehood; and to get as close to our Maker as we possibly
can.
And it Came to Pass, at Midnight
You made miracles, at night
When watchers blink to see through night.
Abraham conquered four kings by night,
And it came to pass, at midnight.
You blighted Gerar in a dream by night,
You warned Laban on the night.
Before. Israel wrestled with an angel all night.
And it came to pass, at midnight.
You crushed Egypt's frst-born seed. The night-
Mare of a loaf of bread doomed Midian one night.
You cut down Sisera's armies under starry night.
And it came to pass, at midnight.
You turned the taunter's army into a corpses'
camp. Overnight,
The dragon Bel fell from his pedestal, while in the
night.
Daniel dreamed mysteries of coming night.
And it came to pass, at midnight.
Belshazzar perished in God's cups that night.
Daniel, reader of the words, stayed with lions for
a night.
Haman the hater wrote his letters late at night.
And it came to pass, at midnight.

On the frst night of Passover,
recite:
45
Nirtzah -
You toppled Haman during Ahasuerus' sleepless
night.
You tread the winepress; asked, "What of the
night?"
You answer, "The day cometh, and also the night,"
And it came to pass, at midnight.
Bring quickly, Lord, the day which is not day or
night.
The day is yours, God, and so is the night.
Set guards about your city day and night,
Give us vision clear by day by night,
And it came to pass, at midnight.
And You Shall Say: "It is the
Sacrifce of the Lord's Passover."

You showed your power on Passover;
As our frst festival you made the Passover;
You visited with Abraham on Passover;
And you shall say:
"It is the sacrifce of the Lord's Passover."
You rapped upon his tent fap in the heat of day,
on Passover;
He served your messengers unleavened bread
on Passover;
And sacrifced a tender calf for Passover;
And you shall say:
"It is the sacrifce of the Lord's Passover."

On the second night of Passover,
recite:
Arise and Let Us Ascend to Zion
5,381 views - 4:01
Close your eyes and imagine it is
hundreds of years ago and you are on
your way to worship the One True God
of Israel along with thousands of other
believers in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Now, turn up your
speakers and sing along to Jeremiahs uplifting words, Arise
and let us ascend to Zion!
46
Nirtzah -
Sodom was consumed by fre on Passover;
Lot, spared, baked unleavened bread for Passover;
You desolated Egypt on the Passover;
And you shall say:
"It is the sacrifce of the Lord's Passover."
Egypt's frstborn you destroyed that Passover;
Death passed us over, passed our doors, that
Passover;
No evil came to Israel on Passover;
And you shall say:
"It is the sacrifce of the Lord's Passover."
Jericho's walls tumbled after Passover;
Gideon dreamed of Midian's fall at Passover;
The Assyrians were consumed by fames on Passover;
And you shall say:
"It is the sacrifce of the Lord's Passover."
Sennacherib would still be at Nob, if not for Pass-
over;
The handwriting on the wall was read at Passover;
While Belsahazzar's feast was set on Passover;
And you shall say:
"It is the sacrifce of the Lord's Passover."
Queen Esther called a three-day fast on Passover;
Haman hung from the gallows tree on Passover;
Those who hate us will be punished twice on
Passover;
By your right arm, then as in Egypt on the Passover;
And you shall say:
"It is the sacrifce of the Lord's Passover."

The Hope
As long as in the heart within,
The Jewish soul yearns,
And toward the eastern edges, onward,
An eye gazes toward Zion.
Our hope is not yet lost,
The hope that is two-thousand years old,
To be a free nation in our land,
The Land of Zion, Jerusalem.

"300 years ago, there came to the New World a boat, and its name was the Mayfower. The Mayfowers landing on
Plymouth Rock was one of the great historical events in the history of England and in the history of America. But I would like to ask any Englishman sitting here on
the commission, what date did the Mayfower leave port? How many people were on the boat? Who were their leaders? What kind of food did they eat on the boat? More than
3,300 years ago, long before the Mayfower, our people left Egypt, and every Jew in the world, wherever he is, knows what day they left. And he knows what food they ate. And
we still eat that food with every anniversary. And we know who our leader was. And we sit down and tell the story to our children and grandchildren in order to guarantee that it
will never be forgotten. And we say our two slogans: Now we may be enslaved, but next year, well be a free people. . . . Now we are in the prison of the Soviet Union. Now, were
in Germany where Hitler is destroying us. Now were scattered throughout the world, but next year, well be in Jerusalem. Therell come a day that well come home to Zion, to the
Land of Israel. That is the nature of the Jewish people."
