ARMS (make 2)
Row 1: With larger crochet hook,
attach MC at either corner of arm
opening, ch 1, sc in same st as beg
ch-1, holding arm opening closed and
working through both thicknesses,
work 6 sc across rem of opening,
turn. (7)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, working in top lp
only, sc in next 6 sts, working in rem
free lp on opposite side of Row 1, hdc
in next 7 sts, sl st to join in top of beg
ch-2. (14)
Rnds 38: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc
around, sl st to join in top of beg ch-2.
At the end of Rnd 8, fasten off.
Hand
Rnd 9: With smaller crochet hook,
working in back lps for this rnd only,
draw up a lp of skin color yarn, ch 1,
sc in same st as beg ch-1, sc in each st
around. (14)
Rnd 10: [Sc in next 5 sc, dec 1 sc
over next 2 sc] twice. (12)
Rnd 11: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 12: Sc in each sc around, sl st
in next sc, leaving a length of yarn,
fasten off.
Stuff arm lightly with fiberfill.
With yarn needle and rem length of
yarn, weave through rem sts of Rnd
12, pull tightly to close, secure and
fasten off.
Sleeve trim for girl doll
With hand facing and smaller cro-
chet hook, attach CC yarn in rem free
lp of Rnd 8, ch 1, sc in same st as beg
ch-1, ch 3, [sc in next st, ch 3] rep
around, sl st to join in beg sc, fasten
off.
Sleeve trim for boy doll
With hand facing and larger cro-
chet hook, attach CC yarn in rem free
lp of Rnd 8, ch 3 (first dc), dc in each
rem st around, sl st to join in top of
beg ch-3, leaving a length of yarn, fas-
ten off.
With yarn needle and rem length
of yarn, fold cuff upward onto sleeve
and tack in place.
BOTTOM TRIM
With fiberfill, stuff head and neck
firmly. Stuff body fully, but not tight-
ly, with fiberfill to within 1 inch of
bottom.
Rnd 1: Making sure head and
arms are lined up correctly, hold bot-
tom edge tog, with larger crochet
hook, attach CC in corner, ch 3 (first
dc), work 1 dc in each next 53 sts, sl st
to join in top of beg ch-3. (54)
Row 2: Ch 1, fold Rnd 1 flat
across, working through both thick-
nesses, work 27 sc across, fasten off.
Cut a 16 (16-20) inch length of rib-
bon. Starting and ending at center
front, weave through dc sts of Rnd 1,
pull ends to gather, knot ends tog and
tie in a bow.
HAT
Row 1: With larger crochet hook
and MC, ch 31, hdc in 3rd ch from
hook, hdc in each rem ch across, turn.

Row 2: Ch 2, working in front lps
for this row only, hdc in next 28 sts,
hdc in top of beg ch-2, turn. (30)
Row 3: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc
across, turn.
Rows 410: Rep Row 3.
Row 11: Make sure rem free lps of
Row 1 are facing outward, fold Row 10
in half, ch 1, work through both thick-
nesses work 15 sc across, fasten off.
Hat trim for girl doll
Row 1: With opening of hat facing,
working in rem free lps of Row 1, with
smaller crochet hook, attach CC, ch 1,
sc in same st as beg ch-1, [ch 3, sc in
next st] rep across, turn.
Row 2: Working in same rem free
lps of Row 1 as previous row, [ch 6, sc
in next st] rep across, fasten off.
Hat trim for boy doll
Row 1: With opening of hat facing,
working in rem free lps of Row 1, with
larger crochet hook, attach CC, ch 3
(first dc), dc in each st across, leaving
a length of yarn, fasten off.
With yarn needle and rem length
of yarn, turn Row 1 upward onto hat,
tack first st to hat, fasten off. Tack
last st to hat in same manner.
Pompon
Set aside a 12-inch length of MC
and CC yarn. Holding 1 strand each
MC and CC tog, wrap around 2 fin-
gers 50 times. Tie tightly in center
with both 12-inch strands of yarn.
Holding pompon by the strands used
to secure pompon, cut loops and trim
pompon to desired size. Pull strands
used to secure through back point of
hat, knot to secure.

Bunting Doll

FINISHING
Weave rem length of ribbon
through sps at neck edge of hat.
Stretch hat slightly so it fits snugly
around neck and knot ribbon ends,
tie ends in a bow.
With yarn needle and length of
MC yarn, tack hat to head around
neckline edge and around front of
hat.
