Dear Parents,

On Tuesday next week we start our grade 9 and 10 exams. You will find in this bulletin an
outline of the exam schedule. We understand that for some grade 9 students this first lot of HS
exams can be a worrying experience and for that reason we have been careful to prepare the
students as best we can. Teachers have provided a summary sheet and devoted at least one
lesson to review. In addition this year we have been able to reorganize the schedule so that
most students will have time on Wednesday to study for their Thursday exams. Grade 9 and
10 students do not need to check in with teachers during their exams, but instead report
directly to the exam room. In addition if a student does not have an exam they are able to
leave the campus to go home to study for their next exam, however students may not then
return to campus later the same day.

With exams, the holidays on November 27th and 30th and our annual ICARE experience, we
have just eight and half days left of instructional time before the December holiday break. It is
very important that junior and senior students use this time efficiently in order to be in the best
possible shape as we head into 2010. In addition to college applications, extended essays and
IB internal assessments, we continue to run a full array of school activities. IASAS MUN is on
in Bangkok this weekend and next weekend we host a pre- IASAS basketball tournament.
Also please check out the poster advertising the special screening of the film “The Age of
Stupid”, which we are show casing on Tuesday December 1st as part of a program building up
to the UN Conference in Copenhagen on Climate Change.

Next week I will write more comprehensively about ICARE, but if you have any questions
about our destinations, activities or preparations, please do not hesitate to contact either
myself or Mr. Neil Woods.

If you enjoy dance then you simply must come along to the recital at 3pm tomorrow, Saturday.
Where else do you get to see in one setting dancers from 5 to 18 years old perform with
passion, skill and energy! I hope you enjoy our ISM dancers!

Kind regards,

William R. S Brown Michael Dickinson
