Sample TEEL paragraph for Telegraph newspaper article on Alex McKinnon:
A recent Telegraph newspaper article about the injured Newcastle Knights player Alex
McKinnon demonstrates Australian values as held by the team players and people of their
local town, Newcastle. Alex McKinnon recently suffered a horrific spinal injury, and the
telegraph article compares this tragedy to the Newcastle earthquake and the closure of BHP
to relate that Novocastrians value mateship and compassion for those in need. A quote from
Kurt Gidley expresses that the town certainly gets right behind the team and its players in
tough times. From this, we see that the article really emphasises community and mateship
as significant Australian values.
