General Safety Guidelines
The system is a Class 1 continuously operated moveable equipment
without applied part and signal input/output parts.
This product is designed and manufactured to ensure maximum safety of
operation. Operate and maintain it in strict compliance with the safety
precautions, warnings and operating instructions contained in this
manual.
The product meets all the safety requirements applicable to medical
equipment. However, anyone attempting to operate the product must be
fully aware of potential safety hazards.
There are no user serviceable parts in this product. The product must be
installed, maintained, and serviced by qualified service personnel

Safety and Regulatory Information
according to procedures and preventive maintenance schedules
contained in the product service manual. If your product does not
operate as expected, please contact your Service Representative.
Personnel operating this product should receive training in its proper use.
Only properly trained, fully qualified personnel are authorized to operate
the equipment. An authorized operators list should be maintained.
The Z-Cart must be assembled according to the instructions contained in
the Z-Cart Installation Manual.
Specific Safety Guidelines
Lifting
The Z-Cart, equipped with scanner and accessories, weighs 98 kg (216 lb).
Lifting heavy equipment may result in serious injury to personnel and/or
damage to equipment. Do not try to lift the cart or scanner by yourself
Electrical
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK:
Rear and main covers of the system should be removed or opened only
by qualified service personnel. Internal wiring uses high voltage that
can cause serious injury. Do not place any liquid or food on any part of
the system.
CAUTION:
Connect the Z-Cart to the mains power using the isolating
transformer only. Connecting the Z-Cart directly to the mains
outlet will cause the leakage current to exceed the allowable
limit. Do not attempt to bypass the isolating transformer using
any alternate electric cable.
CAUTION:
Do not connect any electrical devices to the unused outlets that
are part of the Portable Multiple Socket Outlet. These are for
future use only.

Laser
LASER WARNING:
The scanner on the Z-Cart is a Class 1 Laser product, which emits
laser radiation when the cover is removed. No service allowed during
laser operation. Class 3B Laser inside.
Explosion
CAUTION:
Do not operate the equipment in the presence of explosive
liquids, vapors, or gases. Do not plug in or turn on the system
if hazardous substances are detected in the environment.
Moving
The Z-Cart may be rolled over obstacles no higher than 20 mm (3/4"). If you
try to roll over stairs or other higher obstacles, the Z-Cart may tip over.
CAUTION:
The Z-Cart weighs 98 kg (216 lb). Roll the Z-Cart slowly and
carefully so as not to bump it into people or objects while
transporting it.

The system may have labels with one or more of the following symbols. These
symbols indicate the IEC standards to which the system conforms.

2 Operating Instructions
The Kodak Z-Cart is an optional accessory for the Point-of-Care 120, 140, and
260 systems. The Z-Cart provides both mobility and a reduced footprint.
Operating the Z-Cart
1. Roll the Z-Cart to the work area.
2. Lock the wheels.

3. Verify that the isolating transformer is switched off.
4. Plug the power cable extending from the Z-Cart into the isolating
transformer.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to connect this cable before you connect to mains
power in the next step
5. Plug the power cable from the transformer into the wall outlet.

6. Turn on the isolating transformer.
CAUTION:
Do not place the isolating transformer on the Z-Cart at any
time. The Z-Cart is not meant to hold or carry the transformer.
7. Turn on the computer.

9. Turn on the scanner.
NOTE: The power button is located on the bottom right side of the scanner.
The system is ready for use.
Transporting the Z-Cart to a New Location
1. Verify that any plate in the scanner has been processed and removed
2. Exit the QC application.
3. Turn off the scanner.
4. Shut down the computer.
5. Turn off the isolating transformer
6. Disconnect the cable from the transformer to the mains outlet.
7. Disconnect the cable from the Z-Cart to the isolating transformer.
8. Unlock the wheels of the Z-Cart and roll to the new location.
CAUTION:
Do not place the isolating transformer on the Z-Cart at any
time. The Z-Cart is not meant to hold or carry the transformer.
