Computer Equipment and Electronics
Any electronic equipment which plugs into a wall, has a cord, battery or circuit board can be recycled through UB's
computer and electronics recycling program. If your equipment meets these guidelines, please follow the disposal
procedures below.
To recycle electronics please call Procurement Services at 645-2676 to have the equipment removed from
departmental inventory. When you make arrangements with Facilities Moving and Trucking to pick-up this surplus
equipment, it will automatically be recycled. If your equipment has not been assigned a surplus tag, Facilities cannot
remove it from your office. In the first year of this program, UB diverted approximately 2 tons of equipment from
being landfill! For more information on this program, please contact the UB Green Office
atubgreen@facilities.buffalo.edu or 829-3535. Please note this applies only to equipment which is the property of the
University at Buffalo.
If you are an Erie County resident information on recycling personal computers can be obtained by visiting Erie
County's Environmental Compliance website.

Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFL)
While fluorescent "tube" lighting is recycled on campus, UB does not yet have a program to recycle CFLs. However,
these bulbs can be brought to any Home Depot for free recycling.

Microfilm/Microfiche
Please contact Brenda Battleson in the Acquisitions Dept. at 645-2035.
