The importance of music is undeniably inherent to the human race. Music has been
present in peoples lives and in every possible existing culture round this planet
since the very first civilizations came to light. Therefore, it is clear thus that there
must be a no less older reason to this fact. Both texts discuss the power of music,
but from a different perspective.

The first passage argues that music is an essential ingredient in our life styles
quality as it is the very source that nourishes the soul. I agree with Shakespeares
quotation as much as with that of Nietzsche which states, without any sign of
hesitation, how important music is to us and what a huge mistake would it be to
stay away from music. Werent because of our emotional virtue and so, our
feelings, we wouldnt be humans, but perhaps something else. Whilst our ability to
speak insufficiently reaches our hearts, music does it directly and naturally.
Furthermore, it heals wounds and helps us to understand ourselves and the
inexplicable world that surrounds us.

In contrast, the second text focuses on the more rational effects that music can
bring to younger generations and its advantages when included in schools. There
is a belief, although it is also scientifically proven nowadays, that music can
improve our efficiency as it does help the brain make quicker connections and
balance the two sides of the brain, so that they can function better, that is to say,
harmoniously. For these reasons, a special care as to music being part of schools
programming, I think, could not be more rightful. Nevertheless, not every type of
music is beneficial to the brain system and our skills improvement as some might
be rather counter-productive to our development. There are many kinds of music
meant for countless different moments with a wide variety of purposes. Despite
the fact that some people disagree with classical music being the best choice in the
educational context, it is well known that it is written with conscientious
harmonic knowledge and it has a prevailing peace in it, such is the case of Mozarts,
contrary to heavy rock structures or the sometimes unbearable bits of techno
music. All in all, although every personality might match with a specific type of
music, that does not necessarily mean that all of them suppose an advantage to our
learning processes.

In conclusion, music lies at the very core of our hearts and, independent to our
degree of emotional senstivity, we all need it. It goes without saying that it is
equally welcome both for the right and the left sides of the brain, and that if we
hadnt had the urge for expressing our emotions to such an extent, we would have
never created it.
