SUMMARY
Mr. Murali is a Coastal Engineer in Dubai Coastal engineering group with 9 years of experience in the
Coastal Hydrodynamics & Environmental modelling, Navigational modelling and design of Marine
structures adapting to every work discipline. He is actively involved in the planning and execution of
specialist marine surveys, including the setup, deployment and recovery of Met-Ocean instruments.
Mr. Murali has formulated solutions for critical problems like shrimp tracking, fast-time navigations through
complex channels, sediment ingress in a reef, flow in the Sluices gates, dredged plumes impact, outfall
flow dynamics, wave transformation and penetration in the harbours, bridge and road runoff studies. His
experience also extends in designing tools / procedures for increasing productivity, and minimizing
redundancy during various phases of project, and also in the preparation of proposals, reports and
business development materials.
Mr. Murali has a strong consultancy and research background to excel in the field, prior to Worley
Parsons he worked in Doha and India for COWI A/S, where he was involved in numerical modelling of
various coastal processes associated with prestigious projects. Mr Murali also served at research
institutes (INCOIS, Hyderabad and NIO Goa) in India as a senior research fellow and Project Associate
respectively. During his research tenure he was actively involved in the regional and meso-scale ocean
modelling and data management, archival and supply of data to scientific community and short term
forecast data to clients like "Shipping sector and fisheries for safe travel in sea and to Navy, Offshore
Industry, Ports and Harbours" for cost effective and safe operations. He was also involved in the
collection, analysis and modelling of observations and remote sensing data along the Equator and from
adjoining seas using MATLAB, FORTRAN and Ferret routines
Mr. Murali has earned a Master degree in Physical Oceanography and has few publications related to his
research discipline.
EXPERIENCE
Dec 2011 - Present Coastal Engineer, WorleyParsons, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
Key Projects:
Oil spill modelling from moored vessels, Indonesia [Client: Confidential]
To perform oil dispersion modelling from vessels at proposed jetty due to operational and
accidental failures.
To assess the impact of spill on the coastal environment and the shoreline and to provide
recommendations to reduce the impact.
Fast- Time Navigation study, Europe [Client: Confidential]
To simulate the fast-time navigation simulations using SHIPMA for the frequently visited
vessels into the port.
To find the optimized berth location for the client access.
