20.0 CHEMICAL LABORATORY EQUIPMENT

20.1 A suitable chemical laboratory shall be provided in the power plant to
enable testing of fuel, water, flue gas, etc. as required for normal
operation of the combined cycle power plant. The equipment
proposed to be provided are listed below. In addition to these
equipment, the laboratory shall also be equipped by the necessary
laboratory glassware, reagent chemicals and laboratory furniture. A
portion of the chemical laboratory housing equipment such as the
spectrophotometer shall be air-conditioned. Any other equipment to
make the system complete shall be provided by the Bidder.

20.2 The following equipment shall be provided in the chemical laboratory.
The chemical laboratory shall be located atop the MCC room of WT
plant building.

(a) Equipment for Water Analysis
(i) Conductivity meter
(ii) Alfoc test kit for oxygen
(iii) pH meter (digital type : 1 no. and line operated : 1
No.)
(iv) Turbidity meter
(v) Dissolved oxygen meter
(vi) Spectrophotometer
(vii) Jar test apparatus (laboratory flocculator)

(b) Equipment for Oil Analysis

(i) Apparatus for oxidation stability test
(ii) Redwood viscometer No. 1
(iii) Redwood viscometer No. 2
(iv) Apparatus for water in oil by Dean and Stack
method
(v) Interfacial tension apparatus
(vi) Pensky-Martens flash point apparatus
(vii) Pentra meter for grease testing

(c) Equipment for Gas Analysis

(i) Three-bulb Orsat
(ii) Explosimeter (Combustible gas analyser)
(iii) Hydrogen purity test apparatus

(xx) Refrigerators: 2 Nos. (One for storage of chemicals
and the other for storage of samples)

Bidder shall note that the list of equipment mentioned above is indicative.
Suitability/ non-suitability of the equipment shall be ascertained by proper
justification. The technical parameters, measurement range and accuracy
shall be suitable for the minimum anticipated level / concentration of the
constituents measured.

(e) Environmental Laboratory Equipment

(i) Stack monitoring kit for iso-kinetic sampling
consisting of control module, flow totaliser module
(dry gas meter), impinger & condenser module,
pitot tube. (2 sets)

(ii) Continuous ambient air quality monitor for SOx
(UV Fluorescent principle) NOx equivalent to
Rupprecht & Patashnick 1400 TSP monitor USA
series (1 No.)
