Pastors Notes:

I am so glad to be home!!!!
While Lisa and I were honored
to represent you at the General
Assembly and while the worship and preaching
were awesome, there is just no place like home!!! The fellowship here, the worship here, the moving
of the Holy Ghost here is something that I genuinely miss when I am not here. I hope you feel the
same way. I just got through talking with a woman who is new to our church and she was just
beaming about this church. She was so thankful for this church being there when she was at her
lowest moment in her life. She is thankful for what is being done to minister to her children. She is
thankful for a place she considers to be a safe place. WOW.we are making a difference in the lives
of people. I told her what I have told you from the pulpit many times. What people want to hear is
our story. While it is important to know scripture and know how to walk people through the
process of salvation, one tool we always have is our story. The story of how God convicted me of
my sin, how He saved me, forgave me, changed me and made me into what I am today. If we would
just tell our story.many of our friends would love to experience the same thing. Will you be
intentional this week in sharing your story with someone and then inviting them to church with you
on Sunday?

I wanted to thank one more time those that helped with the GREAT START WOODRUFF this past
Saturday. Whether you brought supplies or went to the Activity Center to help distribute the
supplies, you represented our church well. Thank you for continuing to help us be involved in our
community so that we can make a difference!

Starting this Wednesday evening, our Pastor Emeritus James Shealy will be bringing us a series
of messages relating to having and living a committed Christian life. You just cannot afford to
miss these timely and important messages. Please make your plans to join with us the
Wednesday nights of August.

A very special thanks to my mother in law, Sister June Grubbs for making her famous marinated
slaw for us last month. We really enjoyed it! As a matter of fact, it was so good I believe you
could sell it. Thanks again for blessing Band Of Brothers.

ATTENTION ALL SENIOR ADULTS:

important matter. Please make every effort to be with us for this meeting. The meeting will

SAM MINISTRY/JOY CLUB:
On August 28 we are planning a trip to Shealy's BBQ in Batesburg. Batesburg is about 75 miles
from Woodruff which means we will need to leave the church at around 4 PM. We are to be
the restaurant ready to eat at 6 PM. There is a sign-up sheet on the SAM Bulletin Board and
you need to go ahead and sign up as soon as possible. This is a Dutch Treat meal and the cost is
$13.00. If you have a van and would be willing to drive, please make that clear on the sign-up
sheet. This will be a great opportunity for fellowship and the food is second to none.

Richie and Shannon Bishop have agreed to host this month's activity on Friday August 29th.
Each family attending is asked to bring something to eat and drink so there will be no other
cost. There will be a sign up sheet on our bulletin board in the hallway at church. Their address
will be on the sign up sheet. If you are 35 to 50 we hope to see you there!
