PASTOR: Mentors, what is your pleasure concerning this candidate for manhood?
ELDERS: Pastor, we have tested this candidate and have found him to be fit
for the journey of manhood that lies ahead. We, therefore, affirm
his movement from one clearly defined state of existence to the next.
PASTOR: Parents, are you ready now to accept the fact that your boy has
become a man and to give him the respect and responsibilities
that come with manhood?
PARENTS: I affirm that my son has become a man and that I will not hold
back any right or responsibility he has earned in accord with that status.
CANDIDATE: As I have put aside my childish ways and become a man, I accept
the wisdom of my elders who have guided me into manhood, and
I pledge to demonstrate with my heart, mind, soul and body that
I am the man you have recognized.
