Scenario
While studying for your BTEC National, you have been asked to provide some
material for a website called ‘All about networking’. This is a website that aims to
help people who want to learn networking and provides access to a wide range of
resources related to networking.

Assignment 27.2 —“All about networking”

Task 1
a. Create a series of linked web pages that address the following
topics;
1. Describe the types of networks available and how they
relate to particular network standards and protocols. (P1)
2. Describe the seven-layer OSI Model and the importance of
the seven layers (P5, M4).
3. Describe three (3) typical services provided by networks.
This should cover areas such as directory services,
telecommunication services, file services or application
services. (P6)

students on why different network standards and protocols are necessary
using appropriate and realistic examples. P2
