Subject: Action-Items-CXC [Media, BHO, Illegals, FreedomWorks]

http://www.scribd.com/doc/232677410/Action-Items-CXC-Media-BHO-Illegals-FreedomWorks

Consistent with my previously-explained vow to accrue a more focused array of morsels encountered
while reading the Internet *while ensuring they meet an inherent action-item rationale+, note these
observations regarding the trenchant need to monitor the media as all the worlds moving parts seem
to be churning [and unraveling]. {Also, note that this shark-attack is just one of the great exhibits at
the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC.}

Note three under-the-radar observations. First, Guzzardis measured observations
regarding the Pension-Bomb were placated, if not totally ignored by an elitist *Isaac L+
who responded with aloof platitudes rather than cold-hard-facts [which had explicitly
been requested of any advocate for the faulty status-quo]. Second, note how the WaPo
subtly ignored the major reason why Conservative anger at Export-Import Bank has
reached a boiling point; opposition to what many in tea party call a symbol of crony
capitalism has been building for years explicitly because, citing Heritage Action,
by some estimates, [Boeing,] the massive multinational aeronautical company, receives
upwards of 80-percent of the Ex-Im Banks taxpayer-backed loan guarantees.

Return to the WaPo article and note how this MAJOR driver [reiterated
weekly during the Monday-5:30 p.m. dial-in call @ 1-800-757-3718] is
absent, with the only citation of Boeing being tangential *But their
broader ideological argument is that the agency represents the power
of lobbying by big, wealthy companies, such as Boeing and General
Electric, which are among those that benefit the most from the banks
activities.+ Indeed, ideology aside, this is a matter of corporate-
welfarepure and simpleto which the WaPo is willfully blinding itself
[and thus, denying its readership of crucial info that MUST have been
unearthed when the authors (ZACHARY A. GOLDFARB AND HOLLY
YEAGER) researched this piece]. Comments along these lines were
consistently posted *by iStink+, such as a summary point *This is not
anti-corporate or even anti-union; this is about not allocating loans
based on who you know in the government.+ that invokes the unifying
concern of the TPM *meshing of Wall St. and K St.+.

Third, note that another lib-publication, Salon, published a think-piece headlined by
Drudge [DIVIDED STATES OF AMERICA?] whose author [JIM SLEEPER] blames misery felt
by its readership [e.g., Pew Survey: 60% of 'Solid Liberals' Not Proud to Be Americans]
on the-usual-suspects [for crime, disillusionment, whatever]. It adroitly tiptoes-around
the elephant in the room *perhaps donkey would be more apt, for hes a Dem+,
despite the fact that he seems to be channeling the malaise atmospheric conveyed
during the summer of 79 by Jimmah-Cartah [presaging his defeat to RR]. Note how he
fails to cite Americas current leader, until the very-very end [almost in-passing],
delivering a thinly-veiled rationalization for BHOs deceit:

1781

In 2008, Barack Obama seemed to incarnate so brilliantly the promise of
weaving our diversity into a new republican discipline he even
invoked Puritan and biblical wellsprings in some of his speeches that
many people round the world considered him a prophet who would
satisfy their hunger for new narratives. Probably no national political
leader ever can do that.

Fourth, note that the media eschews cogent-news that fails to reinforce [let along mesh
with] its leftism [e.g., SC Suspected Home Invader Killed in Shootout with Homeowner].

'hat trick'

This is why the TPM is recoiling against the symbiosis [Dems/Libs/Progressives and the
Mainstream Media] that perpetuates Big Government, and this is why one must be
vigilant when listening to the former source all their arguments from the latter.

And this is why Independence Day is so important to the TPM [PALIN ON JULY 4TH: CELEBRATE
INDEPENDENCE, NOT GOV'T; When Adults Were in Charge: Ronald Reagans July 4
th
Address to the

1782

Nation; and 17 Patriotic Movies to Watch Over Fourth of July Weekend]; this is particularly true of those
residing in the Delaware Valley when they ponder Phillys unique contribution *Independence Hall:
Beyond the Declaration] thereto. Those who may not wish to delve into history may still find that The
Fireworks episode of Schoolhouse Rock! resonates, for it explains why Americans celebrate the Fourth
of July and the history of the Declaration of Independence; this is somewhat superficial for post-
adolescents, but it cites members of the committee that drafted it (John Adams, Benjamin Franklin,
Thomas Jefferson, Robert Livingston and Roger Sherman) and it captures the yearning for liberty that
animated the enlightened Founders/Framers.

It is too-easy to compare/contrast these manifestations of patriotism with how Obama
chose to spend his time [visiting a Mosque and hosting Muslim Leaders on July 4
th
],
provoking a scathing critique *Instead of patronizing Muslims, many of whom hate
America, you should, instead, visit Concord, or Lexington, or Bunker Hill, or Saratoga, or
Valley Forge, or just simply place a Wreath at the base of Washington Monument.+.
Yet, BHO seems forever to be a creature of his Founding Fathers *quoting DSouza+ from
his radical-leftist past such as Bill Ayers [REVISITING THE OBAMA-AYERS CONNECTION;
Bill Ayers cannot Be Trusted - An Irrefutable Example Of His Serial Dishonesty; and Bill-
Ayres-Tells-Fox-News-That-Monuments-Should-be-Built-for-Deserters.] Indeed, whether
it be the dangers of relying upon the Wall St. surge [Trumps Warning on Federal Debt]
or of forgetting that Dems had confirmed Saddam Hussein has WMD, Americans must
deal with his manifestation of the Cloward-Piven Strategy and how the updated meme
from Dems {Iraqs downfall was inevitable+ ignores the need to tackle the existential
threat of Islamism. Instead, of course, BHO remains forever in campaign-mode

This Is the lie BHO Obama Posted On Facebook regarding Hobby-Lobby.
This is a blatant manifestation of the manufactured war-on-women.
The hyperlink depicts other flaws in this dummied-down polemic.
Hillary said the same thing, despite coverage of 16/20 methods.
41 million people [lemmings] are subscribed to this website.

BHOs choice to pursue a masterful inactivity approach to the Illegal-Immigration crisis
was again manifest when Obama said, at a Naturalization Ceremony, I'll Do 'Everything
I Can' to Get Amnesty Bill after he had ceded awareness that this was unlikely to be a
Congressional priority until AT-LEAST after the mid-terms. Conservatives would remind

1783

him that we were celebrating Independence Day, Not Immigration Day, but he would
probably change the subject; note his silence after Border Patrol agent Hector Garcia
[on Thursday] accused the Obama administration of aiding, abetting and facilitating the
smuggling of illegal aliens across the border. BHO certainly has his GOP-apologists such
as Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX) [whom House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) appointed to an
Illegals-legislation group], who denied the Border Crisis is About Amnesty Legislation
["Please dont call this an immigration reform issue, this is a humanitarian crisis, and we
need help now."]; but, in reaction to such manifestations of denial, the TPM has ways
[Patriot Bikers Plan Epic March To Shut Down The Border & Free Jailed Marine]. {Also,
lest anyone forget how the NY-TIMES loves BHO, it claimed it is UGLY FOR AMERICANS
AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION TO WAVE AMERICAN FLAGS AND CHANT 'USA.'}

Perhaps BHOs chickens will soon come home to roost, as IRS Lawyers face a
double-barreled Week: On July 10, IRS lawyers will appear in federal district
court to explain why they never reported the emails missing in the context of a
lawsuit brought by Judicial Watch. And the following day, the IRS legal team is
expected to try to block outside access to the evidence that Lois Lerner's
computer crashedif such evidence exists.

Sadly, BHO continues to be AWOL, despite the fact that his intelligence-failures
[noting all usages of this term] are rampant [e.g., China Navy in frenzy to build nuke-
powered attack subs+, leading him consistently to manifest Rushs Limbaugh Theorem
[on Teflon protecting Obama] and others to invoke RUSHS LIMBAUGH DERANGEMENT
SYNDROME, OBAMA-STYLE at-work. {As a direct result, the world is crumbling.}

A friend wrote that he found it eerie to read an article by Mark Levin from late-October 2008 tackling
The Obama Temptation; consistent with the portrayals of DSouza, he wrote that it was clear to him
[and to me] then, after reading this essay, that Obama was immersed in the rhetoric of the 1960s-70s
campus radical and the other New Left groups of that era. What he didn't expect [although I did] is that
the main-stream media would so avidly [and consistently] betray their long art (in the Hippocrates sense
of the word) in return for the approbation of "the world." He aptly concluded, History (if it survives as a
truth-seeking art) will not kindly judge these actions.

Amidst all this domestic turmoil is BHOs antagonism towards Israel, which was manifest
through his silence about anti-Zionism/anti-Semitism in Israel [Arab rioters caused
extensive damage to Jerusalems light-rail system] and elsewhere [Toronto: Frenzied
Muslim mob attacks and beats Jewish protesters]; some aver [such as the World Jewish
Congress] that the Murder of Israeli Teens is a Line in the Sand, and others quietly note
that ISIS Style Flags were Aloft at Arab Teens Funeral, with Signs of the Bloodthirsty
Terror Outfit Growing in Palestinian Territories. {BHO steadfastly pursues his agenda,
going it alone, seemingly notwithstanding anything anyone else must aver.}

A Hillary-update isnt pretty. Peter Paul has alleged that Hillary Clinton committed felonies by violating
numerous federal election laws and lied about them to cover them up. Meanwhile, Sales Of Clinton
Book Slipped In Third Week CBS DC; Hard Choices had been the No. 1-selling nonfiction hardcover
on The New York Times list for three straight weeks but slipped to 57 on Amazon.com; mirroring these
observations are two media-spun portrayals that prop-up her failure [Politico reported Hillary Clinton

1784

book sales: 'strong' 100,000] and that fail to rectify overt conflict between the NY-Times and Amazon
[the WaPo reported Hillary Clintons book sales dropped even faster in week three than in week two].

7 Books With Better Sales Rankings Than Hillary Clintons Hard Choices - Not buying
Hard Choices has been a pretty easy choice for hundreds of millions of Americans.
Although the books publisher shipped one million copies of the book, it is unlikely that
total sales will reach even half that given current trends. The verdict? America might just
not be that into Hillary Clinton anymore (keep in mind that Living History sold a million
copies in the first month). In Hillarys defense, though, there is some pretty stiff literary
competition out there this year. Here are 7 books with better Amazon sales rankings
than Hard Choices. Hypothesis: America still wants to read about the Clintons, it just
doesnt want to pay to read anything written by a Clinton. Storks diet book, which is
currently at #8 on Amazons overall best seller list, debuted in January and has received
an average reader review of four stars. Clintons book, on the other hand, averages a
measly two stars. Thankfully for Hillary, there are not one, but two silver linings within
the fact that F. Scott Fitzgeralds classic is beating Hard Choices, #53 to Hillarys #55.
First, Americans still like things that have been around for nearly 90 years (The Great
Gatsby was first published in 1925). And second, they still love to hear the dastardly
tales of those awash in unearned wealth. Of course Hillarys book underperformed,
you might say. Its a boring, sterilized book ghostwritten for a risk-averse politician.
Well, the plot of First 100 Words is terrible, there is literally zero character
development, and the book leaves no lasting impression whatsoever. And yet: #25 vs.
#55 for Hard Choices. A hundred pictures are worth thousands and thousands of more
book sales, apparently. Is it depressing that your book got bested by not one, but two
picture books about the movie Frozen? With 2016 approaching, we have verifiable
proof that America has a real appetite for stories about a cloistered ice queen who
ascended to the throne thanks only to her family connections.

This is how one activist-group communicates with its adherents, fighting both GOPs Civil-Warand BHO

The Establishment's Dirty Tactics

This week, the Republican Establishment revealed its true colors: they had to use
Democrats to beat Chris McDaniel in the Mississippi primary.

Rather than allow grassroots conservatives to decide their next senator, Mitch
McConnell, John McCain, the Chamber of Commerce, K Street lobbyists, and the NRSC
helped Democrats choose the Republican Nominee. Its shameful, corrupt, and
unforgivable.

The truth is: Chris McDaniel won a majority of Republican voters. Thats why the DC
Establishment spent a ton of money getting Democrat votes. They couldnt maintain
their hold on the Republican Party without them.

You know why the Republican Establishment and the DC-insiders fear us. They want to
keep their gravy train rolling. They want unlimited spending and bigger government.
Thats why theyre spending millions attacking patriotic conservatives like you and me.

Thats why we cant give up. Theyre afraid of us. And thats how I know were making a
difference, thats how I know that this is the beginning of the end, and we will Take
America Back. We must press on.

A Win for Liberty in the Supreme Court

This week, digital privacy saw a huge win.

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously that police must get a warrant for any searches
of personal cell phones. In other words, the Supreme Court upheld the Fourth
Amendment to the Constitution.

This is great news. For too long, police and government officials tried to skirt the Fourth
Amendment by pointing to vague laws. Now its clear: the police must achieve a
warrant in order to search personal cell phones.

FreedomWorks applauds the Courts upholding of privacy and its guarantee of civil
liberties. Protecting our constitutional rights is the duty of our governments judicial
branch. Thats why its so important to stay informed about the court decisions that
affect your everyday life.

You can read more about the Courts decision, and also explore the brand new
FreedomWorks Judicial Reform project here.

Stopping Obama's Abuses

The Supreme Court made another big decision this week this time related to President
Obamas rampant abuse of authority.

The Court ruled unanimously that Obamas recess appointments to the National Labor
Relations Board were unconstitutional.

1787

Why is this important? Because President Obama made these appointments even
though the Senate never declared it was on recess. Obama tried to ram through his
radical bureaucrats with no oversight. It was executive overreach of the worst kind. The
Founding Fathers set up our government with a separation of powers. The Senate must
confirm executive appointments. Period.

Obama thought he could ignore the law and enact his Big Government agenda on his
own. The Supreme Court said NO. The decision dealt a serious blow to Obamas
extension of executive powers. The President can no longer make executive
appointments without the Senate declaring it is out of session. This was another big
victory for freedom and limited government.

FreedomWorks also sends a special thanks to Senator Mike Lee for raising the
important issue of President Obama's unconstitutional recess appointments

You can read more about the decision here.

outreach event in downtown Chicago. Conservative black leaders took the message of
freedom to a community hurt by Big Government for too long.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/232846901/Action-Items-CXCI-Corbett-Hobby-Lobby-BHO-is-bored-Illegals-
America-Guns-Politics-Israel-Iraq-Islamism

Was hosted earlier this evening by a Dem who adores Brendan Boyle and we had a healthy exchange of
ideas regarding Corbett vs. Wolf; I feel Corbett can benefit from a perfect-storm if and only if he [1]
ties Wolf to BHO; [2]holds an endless press conference regarding Sandusky; and *3+prods the
legislature successfully to enact legislation tackling both the Pension-Bomb and the State-Stores [with
the potential to enact Paycheck Protection]. He can then run on competence [scandal-free, etc.] and
attempt to educate the voters regarding, for example, his having increased education expenditures
annually [which emerges when one deducts the one-year Stimulus funds+. I have my own problems
with Corbett *Highmark consolidation; Comcast corporate welfare; Corbetts inability to connect;
etc.+, but compare/contrast policiesand the 20%-gap will narrow [notwithstanding PR-spin, ads, etc.].
The impending tug-of-war has been summarized [Senate Democrats Try to Pull Focus from Obamacare];
for Republicans, it's all about tying Dems to Obama [as enablers], especially to a health care law that
remains unpopular with many Americans whereas, for Dems, the election is about just about anything
else, especially if they can steer attention away from Washington and federal matters. {Also, note that
Interest groups' lobbying tally tops $500M in PA; in my spare time, I will attempt to discern all those
who relate with Mr. Hank Butlerin addition to the Jewish Federationto educate them as to his
credibility.}

I recognize that AG-Kane screwed-up the release of the Sandusky report [and the
latest is that AG Kane: hasn't pursued Philly Inq defamation matter further and is no
longer represented by Sprague], but anyone who reads the report will have to wonder
why only three people were working the case part-time during 2010, and a complete
review of all the Second Mile kids wasnt initiated until 2011. In-fact, AG-Kane didnt
need to try to suggest damages ensued during the alleged-delay in 2010 [the 2 kids]
because, just like the decision not to rescue the guys during BenghaziGate, one cant
decide ahead-of-time whether delay will yield an additional tangible harm; one must act
forthrightly when [1]government employees are under-attack, and [2]when a perp
is loose. And if this loose-end continues to dangle, the Tom killed JoePa mantra will be
invoked [perhaps by a Dem Super-PAC], resonating among PSU-grads/employees.
Indeed, this is a bipartisan issue, notwithstanding the filing of litigation [NCAA]. Finally,
Penn State may have shed the Sandusky slump, but the Paterno legend is forever.

There is a YouTube channel for the Philadelphia of memory

BHO appears to be flailing as, for example, Obamas talk about fighting income inequality has grown
quiet as his focus [after polling the issue] is shifting towards focusing on the middle-class, perhaps due
to a split among Dems; regardless of his claims that employment is higher, 14 Million More people are
on Food Stamps Under Obama. The atmospherics surrounding his activities have been summarized by
Peggy Noonan [who is not a TEA-Party Movement adherent] in her recent essay [The Daydream and the
Nightmare] in which she concluded Obama isn't doing his job because he's waiting for history to

1790

recognize his greatness; the entire article should be scrutinized; it concludes: It is weird to have a
president who has given up. So many young journalists diligently covering this White House, especially
those for whom it is their first, think what they're seeing is normal. It is not. It is unprecedented and
deeply strange. And, because the world is watching and calculating, unbelievably dangerous. They can
dismiss Rush Limbaughs parody *Barack HusseinKardashian+, but it is c/w the depiction of his priorities
in this piece. And, noting events overseas, BHO is now increasingly recognized as being dangerous
*notwithstanding BHOs Scandal-Sheet which continues to fester. Although quoting Hollywood is often
dangerous, one recalls Eastwoods single-chair performance two years ago when one listens to Steven
Seagals brief comments at the Western Conservative Conference *Never in my life did I ever believe
that our country would be taken over by people like the people who are running it at this day].

It is not surprising that the LA-Times reviewed the SCOTUS season without noting how
many times BHO was rebuked for his Executive Orders [unanimously], nor is it shocking
that Politicos summary-piece failed to observe the absence of this reference:

The high court's long game: Under Roberts, justices take the law in
small, steady steps on a conservative path. Many of its decisions appear
modest, and the justices themselves downplayed them as narrow and
tightly targeted. But they also set the stage for broader rulings, and
liberals voiced concern about their long-term impact. Many rely on well-
established rights, such as freedom of speech and free exercise of
religion, but extend those rights for the first time to corporations,
wealthy donors and conservatives who bristle at what they view as
liberal government mandates, from paying union fees to offering birth
control to female workers.

Four of the most significant rulings - on campaign finance, public prayer,
religious freedom and union fees - yielded the same 5-4 split. They
pitted the Republican appointees, Roberts and Justices Antonin Scalia,
Clarence Thomas, Anthony M. Kennedy and Samuel A. Alito Jr., against
the dissenting Democratic appointees, Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg,
Stephen G. Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan

OBAMA IS WEIGHING STEPS TO COVER CONTRACEPTION, AFTER 2 COURT SETBACKS, prompting a
backlash [FIORINA: DEM'S 'SHAMELESS' 'BASELESS' WAR ON WOMEN 'PROPAGANDA']; amazingly, the
left-wing online publication Vox finds the U.S. Supreme Courts decision in the Hobby Lobby case to be
part of a deeper trend in a nation that has made an unprecedented turn to a pro-life stance.
Regardless, I liked the Hobby-Lobby decision *Im multiple-choice, and I liked the way the SCOTUS
honored private religious beliefs, using the corporation as a person just as it did in Citizens-United;
remember, this wasnt even a constitutional question, for the decision was totally based on existing
statute.+. This was written in response to a prior Blast e-mail:

Re the comment: The Court held that the government could provide coverage for
contraceptives and abortifacients without forcing Americans, like the Christian family
that owns Hobby Lobby, to violate their sincerely held religious beliefs.

The court overstepped its power when it approved Hobby Lobby to not insure
abortifacients.

1791

All five approving Justices are deceptive Roman Catholics, who used their Catholic
backgrounds to waive approval of abortifacients by Hobby; these are not objective
people, for its wishful thinking to think that Catholics can waive their Catholicism.

Sixteen years of Catholic Education inform my knowledge of the depth of and the
danger of Catholicism, for Catholics are almost impossible to convince about the need
for abortion.

It took them from 1633 until 1990 [357 years] to accept Galileo's idea that the earth
orbits the sun; he was given a life sentence by his traitor/friend Pope Bellermine and
imprisoned in his own home until his death. [There is a Catholic Church in Warrington,
PA named after Bellermine, who the Catholics revere as a saint.]

My conclusion is Catholics will be even harder to convince about the need for abortion
then they were about heliocentricity; of course, Im pro-abortion because a fetus is not
a baby any more than an adult is a corpse.

The use of Religious Beliefs is purposely deceptive. Regarding opposition to abortion
it should be specific and say Catholic Beliefs.

These are some of my ideas; as Groucho said: if you dont like them, I have more.

Todays spate of hyperlinks regarding Illegals suggests the citizenry may be driven [finally!] to pick-up
pitchforks and protest big-government [Clash in California; 'Viva La Raza'; BOIL; PROTESTERS WON'T
BACK DOWN; TENSE STANDOFF; Militia group heading to Texas border; RESIDENTS REVOLT: MIGRANT
BUSES FACE RESISTANCE; Some on right push to impeach]; indeed, the Feds are to Bring in Riot Squad
Against Illegal Immigration Protesters, ironically focused on accommodating the Illegals instead of using
troops to secure the border [Rick Perry: Obama 'Doesnt Particularly Care' Whether Border Is Secure;
Rick Perry: Use Drones at Border to Deter Illegals]. Communities are being flooded [300,000 ILLEGALS TO
HOMES IN USA; City Leaders Shut Out Of Planning To Shelter Illegals; Many schools in Charlotte NC now
majority immigrant; Interactive map: Government effort to relocate illegals; Wave of illegals risks
turning USA into Third World country] because BHO is welcoming them [President pushes amnesty at
naturalization ceremony; 'We have to do right by the children'; Border Protection Chief: 'These Are Not
Dangerous Individuals'; OBAMA ADMIN: ILLEGALS FROM CENTRAL AMERICA 'NOT DANGEROUS';
PRESIDENT: DONT MAKE IT HARDER FOR THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST TO COME HERE]. {Also noted:
there are ISIS ties to Mexican drug lords and a Rancher Discovered $2M Pot Farm on Land.}

The media remain pro-BHO [MEDIA CALLS ILLEGALS 'REFUGEES'; Daily Beast Suddenly
Discovers Immigration Crisis+ and, despite BHOs efforts *FEDS THREATEN JOURNALIST
WITH PRISON], others are reporting dire current living-conditions [DOCTOR SPEAKS OUT
AGAINST FEDS SILENCING MEDICAL STAFF ON BORDER Agent Contracts Scabies].

Remarkable in this regard is a piece [Heartless vs. brainless] by a lib-
columnist [Stu Bykofsky, Philly Daily News+ who claimed BHO didnt
solely or deliberately cause this crisis *documented to be untrue, vide
infra] because he stumbled upon the solution: If we do not send them

1792

back, the lies they have been told become the truth and we will allow
lies to create our policy.

They are being predictably supported by activists [Activist distributes flashlights to
border crossers; Activist from Family of Illegals: It's 'Inhumane' to Protest Amnesty;
'F**K AMERICA': PRO-AMNESTY CROWD BURNS FLAG; 6 ARRESTED]. {Also noted:
Obama Look-Alike Killed in Ad.}

The blame-game continues [GOP Says Border Crisis is Obamas Fault; Democrats Blame Violence and
Poverty+; more to the point are focused accusations against BHOs having planned this debacle
[Goodlatte: Border Crisis Disaster of President Obamas Own Making; Congressman Says USA
Government Causing Human Trafficking; Dem. Rep. on Border Crisis: Obama 'One Step Behind,' Knew
Last Year US Incentives Luring Illegals]. BHO is planning a TX Trip [Three Fundraisers] but the DHS
SECRETARY said OBAMA is NOT GOING TO BORDER because 'HE CAN'T BE EVERY PLACE.' It may be
recalled that Obama said, in 2011, that his Bypassing Congress and Changing Immigration Law is Not
How a Democracy Works; true to form, despite what is happening, the NYT URGED OBAMA TO 'GO BIG'
ON EXECUTIVE ACTIONS FOR AMNESTY, adding that it is UGLY FOR AMERICANS AGAINST ILLEGAL
IMMIGRATION TO WAVE AMERICAN FLAGS AND CHANT 'USA.'

Through it all, deportations are declining ['Homeland Security' is Not Sure On
Deportations; DHS Secretary Johnson gives no clear answers on whether illegal
immigrant children will be deported; Backlash stirs against foreign worker visas;
Advocates, Mom Hopeful About Delayed Deportation; Obama Deporting Fewer
DREAMers Even After Surge of Illegals].

Many short-term solutions have been proffered [e.g., Sheriff Joe: Withhold Foreign Aid to Mexico], but a
more durable outcome would be recognition that the Fourteenth Amendment Empowers Congress to
End Birthright Citizenship [If an illegal alien has a child on American soil, the Constitution does not
require the child be granted American citizenship. Congress can give citizenship to anyone it wants, but
the Fourteenth Amendment only commands citizenship to persons born on U.S. soil to parents who are
not citizens of a foreign country.] This is particularly relevant, noting the attraction of anchor-babies
[Mothers crossing at alarming rate; 'Alarming' Number Of Immigrant Moms Bringing Children Across
Border Into Texas].

Meanwhile, racial-politics abound, both in America [Journo: Opposition to Taxes and
Spending Is Racist; STUDENTS JOINING BATTLE TO UPEND VOTER ID by claiming Age-
Discrimination exists in North Carolina; Hispanic Growth Not Turning Texas Blue as
Expected] and worldwide [Zimbabwe's Mugabe: 'We Say No to Whites Owning Our
Land'].

The new docudrama America, a robust defense of this country against far-left icons like Noam Chomsky,
exploded at the box office on Independence Day; DINESH D'SOUZA is being interviewed extensively,
such as when he debated with MICHAEL ERIC DYSON regarding LEFT-WING CRITIQUES OF AMERICA. This
reflects a greater interest in Getting the facts straight about the Founding Fathers as Americans are
questioning their future [PAPER: 1 in 8 Households Living 'American Dream' and SURVEY: JUST 28% SAY
USA #1]. A real-life manifestation of this trenchant concern is that a university-president feels a law-
requiring-studying the constitution is archaic; this essay should be read in its entirety because it both

1793

captures his rationale and explains why it is bogus; it is this type of concern that animated efforts to
mandate Holocaust education, for voluntarism does not suffice in vital areas of study.

Some claim such erosion is based on culture-wars [BERKELEY APPROVES FREE POT FOR
LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS and People Are Not Born Gay, Affirmed Royal College of
Psychiatrists]; others claim those who allegedly disseminate such data are biased. For
example, while the lefties sneer at The Impact of the Aging Viewership on Bill OReilly
and Fox News, even the NY-Times, after having evaluated the same data, noted
Fox Viewers May Be Graying, but Their Passion Still Pays.

In no context is this issue more controversial than as it relates to gun-laws; c/w the view that it is the
individual who commits the crime are concerns regarding the numerous ways it is manifest [Texas Man
Pleads Guilty to Attempting to Aid Terrorists and Independence Day No Respite From Chicago Violence:
3 Dead, 37 Wounded]; yet, States look to gun seizure law after mass killings [and radical-lefty-teacher-
whined-that-fireworks-are-too-much-like-pretend-war]. When self-defense reports abound [Police:
Homeowner in Wheelchair Shoots, Kills Home Intruder] and popular-opinion against gun-restrictions
[MSNBC Shocked: Nearly 90% of Americans Support Constitutional Carry], the answer lies in Federalist
46, which notes that Americans are Exceptional Because we are Armed [if we want to be].

Other domestic issues require updates [What We Need Instead of Common Core;
POLITICO: EVEN LIBERALS WANT THIS OBAMACARE MANDATE REPEALED; SNOWDEN
STRIKES AGAIN: Ordinary Web users far outnumber foreign targets in conversations
intercepted by NSA...160,000 e-mail and instant-message conversations]. And
economics remains controversial [Memo to Krugman: Unchecked Liberalism Creates
Economic Mayhem; Bloomberg Op-Ed Compares Austrian Economics to 'Brain-Worms';
BRICs Morphing Into Anti-Dollar Alliance; Beijing, Seoul agree to direct trade in national
currencies]; the latter item again reflects the fact that, under BHO, the dollar is not
the universal currency-of-record worldwide.

Two scientific issues have been raised regarding Climate Change; on the one hand, RECORD GROWTH IN
ANTARCTIC SEA ICE CONTINUES [reassuring, noting prior bogus attacks citing the greenhouse effect]
but, on the other hand, in oklahoma, it has been averred that earthquakes are caused by fracking.
{Levity: 20-signs-youre-succeeding-life-even-you-dont-feel-you-are; The best way to lose weight is to

Political conflict abounds within the GOP, as SEN PAT ROBERTS STRUGGLED TO EXPLAIN WHY HE
DOESNT LIVE IN KANSAS; one can depend upon the Media to downplay the TEA Party Movement, such
as when CNNs John King concluded there is no huge an anti-incumbent wave affecting primary voters.
He cited at-most three incumbents with tough primary challenges [Tennessee and Michigan], but he

1794

failed to explain that the former constitutes an attack on Lamar Alexander that is comparable to that
against Thad Cochran, and that the latter constitutes an attack by the GOP-Establishment on Justin
Amash [a first-termer who has mirrored comments by the likes of Sen. Ted Cruz]. {Also, some claim the
SENATE MAJORITY COULD REST ON THE FATE OF THE SAGE GROUSE.}

Senate Conservatives wish to Remind the electorate as to what happened in Mississippi.

We must remember that the establishment urged Cochran to run against McDaniel even
though Cochran wanted to retire.

We must remember that the establishment opposed McDaniel even though Cochran
had been in Washington for 41 years and had voted for wasteful spending, more debt,
and higher taxes.

We must remember that the establishment opposed McDaniel even though, according
to RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, McDaniel would win the seat for Republicans in
November.

We must remember that Haley Barbour got the gun-grabbing Michael Bloomberg to
donate $250,000 to help defeat McDaniel.

We must remember that the establishment funded race-baiting calls to black voters
urging them to "say no to the Tea Party and their disrespectful treatment of the first
African-American president."

We must remember that the establishment funded race-baiting flyers saying that
McDaniel wanted to return Mississippi to a bygone era of intimidating black
Mississippians from voting.

We must remember that the establishment funded race-baiting radio ads that
claimed McDaniel had connections to the Ku Klux Klan and that McDaniel had a "racist
agenda" that could cause black voters to "lose food stamps, housing assistance, student
loans, early breakfast and lunch programs, and disaster assistance."

We must remember that the establishment funded efforts that led to widespread claims
of payoffs and voter fraud that threw the results of the election into serious doubt.

We must remember that Mitch McConnell (R-KY) -- who vowed to "crush" conservatives
"everywhere" -- raised over $800,000 from Washington, DC lobbyists and other GOP
senators to help pay for Cochran's attacks against McDaniel.

We must remember that the National Republican Senatorial Committee
(NRSC) continued to oppose McDaniel after he won the most Republican votes in the
primary, and then spent $175,000 of party money to defeat McDaniel in the runoff.

The establishment showed us in Mississippi that they're willing to betray their own voters and tear
the GOP apart to hold on to power.

POTUS-16 controversy is increasing among Dems, as a British Reporter Called-Out
Hillary noting that, during her Tenure, America's Approval Ratings Plummeted. Almost
comically, Hillarys Speaking Fees are Potentially a Huge Tax Deduction; note that, the
more she digs, the more trouble she encounters:

Trying to quell a controversy over a $225,000 speaking fee at UNLV,
Hillary Clinton told ABC News that all her speaking fees from colleges
were "donated" to the family's Clinton Foundation. [It naturally didn't
occur to ABC News to ask whether Hillary deducted this "pass-through"
from her taxes, as would likely be legal under the tax code.]

In a related matter, POTENTIAL PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE ELIZABETH WARREN IS AT
THE CENTER OF CFPB SCANDAL; indeed, Obama Has reportedly promised Elizabeth
Warren His Support Against Hillary Clinton In 2016, perhaps channeling the view of
Politico's Haberman when she noted Warren is Helping Dems while Clinton is Helping
Herself [in more ways than one].

In Israel, as Rockets are Raining Down on Southern Israel, BB is attempting to quell both efforts to raise
the temperature along the Gaza Strip *although Arlene Kushner decries this quiet for quiet policy],
and fierce clashes in Jerusalem that revive fears of intifada [Palestinians say teen burned alive; Protests
spread; Jews attacked in Israeli Arab town]; the False Equivalency in Israeli/Palestinian Murders
Threatens a Bloodbath of Jews, as BB demanded the PA chase-down the murderers of the three teens
just like Israel did expeditiously regarding the one teen. In general, Prime Minister Netanyahus has had
a Steady Hand Amid Middle East Chaos; nevertheless, the State Dept Rebuked Israel for Arrest of
American [who had been rioting and who was released to house-arrest]. {Also, note a Muslim Taxi
Driver Murdered a 19-Year-Old Israeli Teen Girl in Terrorist Attack.}

Israel-Palestine Peace Envoy Martin Indyk [a super-lib] said Talks 'Broke Down' When
'Abbas Shut Down' during his interview with The Atlantics Jeffrey Goldberg [a lib]; the
former U.S. envoy to the Israel-Palestinian peace process claimed there were many
reasons the talks between Israeli and Palestinian leaderships failed, not least of which
was the fact that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was never seriously
interested in reaching an agreement.

Media-voices cite data when they are pro-Israel [Chloe Valdary at Memphis Friends of Israel andDaniel
Mael Debates Anti-Israel Crowd on BBC], but they speak in generalities when they are anti-Israel
[Professor Daniel Kurtzer on US-Israel Relationship; Ben-Ami on J Street's Close Cooperation with Obama
White House; and NYU Anti-Israel Students: "Zionist State? Tear it down!"].

Worldwide, Americas credibility in the world is at risk due to Obamas failure to keep
U.S. commitments to protect Iranian dissidents, a distinguished bipartisan group of top
foreign policy and military leaders declared in a letter to the White House. It is gratifying
to note good-news [comparable to al-Sisi replacing Morsi] that More than 60 Women,
Girls Escape Islamist Abductors in Nigeria and that Putin is being stopped [Ukraine
Recaptured Pivotal Eastern City of Sloviansk from Pro-Russian Rebels and Ukraine
Claimed Winning Ground in Rebellious East]. In general, BHO has implemented "a
foreign policy of weakness and disengagement from the world."

In Iraq, when Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi addressed Muslims, IRAQ DISPUTED THE
AUTHENTICITY OF VIDEO SHOWING ISLAMIC STATE LEADER CALLING FOR 'JIHAD' but its clear he is Alive
after death rumors. Suddenly, despite the fact that my ghost-written essays that channeled views of
Dr. Sherkoh Abbas had been ignored for a half-decade, the issue is now out-there; Kurds Debate
Whether to Push for Independence. [Kurdish representatives seemed unwilling to move back to the
pre-June 9 Iraqi governing structure that entails taking orders from Baghdad. A Kurdish representative
said after a meeting with Secretary of State John Kerry in Washington Wednesday, we are not ready to
go back to pre-June 9, when ISIS began its blitzkrieg-like campaign throughout Iraq.] {Also note there is
a New border risk: ISIS ties to Mexican drug lords.}

Sir Nicholas Winton rescued 669 Jewish children before the Nazi invasion and told no
one; Sir Nicholas George Winton, MBE is a British humanitarian who organized the
rescue of 669 mostly Jewish children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia on the eve of
the Second World War, in an operation later known as the Czech Kindertransport.

In response to the announcement of an Islamist State and the fact that the Islamic State 'Expelled
Thousands in East Syria,' the Iraqi Shiite Militia Leader Defied ISIS: We Are Prepared to Target the Enemy
on Its Own Turf. Overall, Power Struggles in Middle East Exploit Islam's Ancient Split. Yet, no
inevitability argument can be used to justify the complete disintegration of American policy, for the
same argument could be employed were Israel to be nuked-away by Iran [via proxies].

This is inherent in two entries in this weeks ECONOMIST.

The cover: "The tragedy of the Arabs: A poisoned history ... A civilization that
used to lead the world is in ruins-and only the locals can rebuild it": "A
THOUSAND years ago, the great cities of Baghdad, Damascus and Cairo took
turns to race ahead of the Western world. Islam and innovation were twins. The
various Arab caliphates were dynamic superpowers-beacons of learning,
tolerance and trade. Yet today the Arabs are in a wretched state. Even as Asia,
Latin America and Africa advance, the Middle East is held back by despotism
and convulsed by war.

The editorial: "Hopes soared three years ago, when a wave of unrest across the
region led to the overthrow of four dictators-in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen-
and to a clamor for change elsewhere, notably in Syria. But the Arab spring's
fruit has rotted into renewed autocracy and war. Both engender misery and
fanaticism that today threaten the wider world. Why Arab countries have so
miserably failed to create democracy, happiness or (aside from the windfall of
oil) wealth for their 350m people is one of the great questions of our time. What
makes Arab society susceptible to vile regimes and fanatics bent on destroying
them (and their perceived allies in the West)? ... [R]eligious extremism is a
conduit for misery, not its fundamental cause. While Islamic democracies
elsewhere (such as Indonesia) ... are doing fine, in the Arab world the very fabric
of the state is weak. ... [T]he outlook is bloody. But ultimately fanatics devour
themselves. ... Pluralism, education, open markets: these were once Arab values
and they could be so again.

Corroboration of multiple concerns are to be shared, along with an alarum regarding whats happening
in Eretz Yisrael; these Blast e-mails are not customarily intended to provide Breaking News, but the
situation along the Gaza Strip has, within the past few hours, escalated to the brink of war with Hamas.
First, a few follow-ups are in-order, starting with PA [DOWN IN POLLS, CORBETT HAS LIMITED OPTIONS
WITH PA BUDGET and he needs legislative victories; Fixes possible for PA's small games of chance
debacle of which I had been ignorant; State transferring control of historic sites to local societies
consistent with the philosophy of limited-government; and Analysis of the Kathleen Kane Backlash has
hindered any plan she might have harbored to run against Sestak to run against Toomey]. {Note that
Sarah Palin Is Publicly Auditioning To Join 'TheView' [claiming 'The View' Needs Someone 'Willing to Go
Rogue'] and Palin said Obama is 'Hypocritical' for Using 'War on Women' Rhetoric.}

Regarding the 2014 Senate rankings, the Map favors the GOP and, therefore,
Republicans are looking to turn the midterms into a national referendum on Obama;
yesterday, I argued that this could also affect the PA-Gubernatorial race, but others feel
statewide issues are insulated.

I also argued that Hillary wont run, and now it turns-out that BHO [via Valerie Jarrett] pledged his fealty
to Elizabeth Warren; as she takes-off from her book-tour *perhaps gratefully+, the press isnt favorable.
Consider: Hillarys Book Loses #1 Spot On NYT Bestsellers List To A Book Slamming Her (Ed Kleins, the
guy who said that BHO was abandoning her); Hillary Clinton Speaks About Defense of Child Rapist and,
in the process, Changes her Story by Claiming She Had No Choice); Searching for Hillary Clinton's big idea
will not be facilitated by reading her 596 page book, which is devoid of policy; and Hillary Clinton Likely
to Rally Around Income Inequality in 2016 (despite the fact that INTERNAL POLLS PROMPTED OBAMA TO
DROP 'INCOME INEQUALITY' MESSAGE). She aint no shoe-in, THATs for sure!

During tonights Heritage-Actions weekly sentinel-call update, it was noted that efforts
to stabilize [but not to expand] the Highway Trust Fund [via the bill sponsored by Sen.
Lee and Rep. Graves] would prompt states to take control over this cost-center; because
it would yield a projected cut of approximately 7%, the infrastructure-caucus is anti.

The Illegals, per the DC BUREAU CHIEFS, constitute a BORDER CRISIS that could morph into OBAMA'S
'KATRINA MOMENT,' for its a 'QUESTION OF COMPETENCE'; a TOP GENERAL said the BORDER CRISIS
constitutes an 'EXISTENTIAL' NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT. Ben Shapiro has the stats to show why the

{Also, note that 300 border agents are under investigation for corruption.}

A busload of illegal immigrants is expected to show up in Murrieta, California despite a furious group of
residents who claim their town is no place for the migrants; federal agents accompanying the bus will
have riot gear and shields, to push back the crowd. Despite this, the protesters have no intentions of
backing down; rather, the group is preparing for a showdown that one resident said "might get ugly."

As much as its tempting, it was correct for BUCHANAN to disclaim interest in pursuing
OBAMAS IMPEACHMENT, even as BHO is BEEFING-UP HIS LEGAL TEAM FOR BOEHNER

They are weighing what it means to be an American, an issue explored by the movie

Amazingly, costco is removing-dsouzas-america-from-shelves; his ideas are feared.

Lest we forget, ObamaDontCare's now threates to deliver a September surprise, as most state health
insurance rates are scheduled to be approved by early fall, and will likely rise; this piece is discussed and
expanded-upon with minimal hyperbole. As people gradually accept the fact that Obamacare Is
Constricting the Economy, the Dems are trying to work against type, as liberals are abandoning the
Obamacare employer mandate ; yet, they are stymied by specifics, with some calling for replacing it with
a better option for workers (a plan that is purposefully vague and, as Rush noted, avoids the need to ID a
substitute revenue source) and others calling for displacing it with a single-payer system. Rush said this
gambit is consistent with the pattern of loving GOP-moderates [McCain, Romney) prior to savaging them
as the election-day approaches. Thats why the only-way-to-fly is to adopt the Ted-Cruz model, noting
that a Woman just Died from a brain tumor After Suing Nevadas Obamacare exchange contractor Over

that supporters of the Import-Export Bank are threatening to mirror what happened last year, namely,

Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said he was launching, without the approval of the
U.S. Congress, the Excellent Educators for All Initiative, an endeavor that purports to
assist states and school districts with support to hire great educators for the students
who need them most.

Regarding Gun-Laws, the Atlantic has focused on gun violence in america by IDing 13-key-questions
with-13-concise-answers from the lib/Dem perspective; meanwhile, BHO is attempting to sidestep the
issue, eschewing a border-visit even while in Texas while, in MURRIETA, the community MUTINY
prompted diversion of MIGRANT BUSLOADS. All these arguments are used to support this iteration of
what should be accomplished [much of which is fine with me, minus some hyperbole and assuming the
Constitutional mandates of the 2
nd
Amendment are not abrogated]:

Laws that prohibit the study of the reasons behind gun violence are disturbing. If one
presumes the GOP is correct that gun-violence is not due to gun ownership or a
culture of guns, and even if one can accept data suggesting that violence declines as
ownership increases, why cant we study what is the root cause leading to the GOPs
stated need for self-protection and Dem-concerns about violence in general? Watch the
local news and you see the carnage almost daily. It is not enough to say there is a
constitutional right. Is it also not the right of citizens to be protected from crime,
whether such laws are local, state, or federal? Or is liberty infringed by societal
violence acceptable under the Constitution?

Notwithstanding the absence of data-citations in the above quick-note, one must check primary-sources
in the cited-article to undermine the way they are [mis-]portrayed. First, it is claimed that the Centers
for Disease Control, the main U.S. agency that tracks and studies American injuries and death, has been
effectively prevented from studying gun violence, due to a law passed by Congress in 1996; it turns-out
that fiscal-limits imposed almost two decades ago are [mis-]portrayed as immutable *as if BHO hasnt
been able to fund whatever he wants, whenever he wants]. Second, it is claimed that anonymized
hospital reporting systems are the main ways we know about many other types of injuries, but the
Affordable Care Act prevents doctors from gathering information about their patients' gun use and a
2011 law restricts gun violence research at the National Institutes of Health; the legal language prevents
these agencies from using any money "to advocate or promote gun control." Each of these provisions
makes sense because there is no justification to use physicians as spies; none of the supposedly-missing
crime-data would be provided by that mechanism; and [as I documented in my letter-to-the-editor],
people do evil things under the aegis of science. Finally, in a city that is rampant in crime, it is too-sad
that the Police Superintendent claimed that Chicago Murders are somehow Due to 'Lax' Gun Laws;
contrast this sense of resignation [again, Rahm is channeling his former boss, BHO] with news that a
Veteran With Concealed Carry Permit ShotBack At Chicago Gunman. {Also, note that CNN HIRED
'AMERICA'S MOST WANTED' HOST... WHO VOWED TO CONTINUE PIERS MORGAN'S WAR ON THE NRA.

Regarding [reverse-]racism, a New York Newspaper headlined a piece ['The Ni**er In
the White House'] unambiguously aimed @ BHO; the fact that only Blacks can use that
term remains problematic; The WestView News [a newspaper with 20,000 readers in
three New York neighborhoods (the West Village, Greenwich Village, and Chelsea)] ran a
pro-Obama editorial titled, "The Ni**er In the White House." Through it all, there has

{Meanwhile, One of the IRS officials whose emails were lost in a computer crash was responsible for

by Congress; assuredly, further scrutiny will yield further leads.}

At 1:22 a.m. local time Tuesday, Israels IDF officially declared that a Full-Scale military operation had
been launched into Gaza to Thwart Terror, tagged Operation Protective Edge; Avigdor Libermans
Yisrael Beyetenu had been poised to Break with Likud regarding the absence of action, but this threat
will now probably be rescinded. Consider the provocations [Videos: Panic on Bus During Stoning Attack;

Bedouin Towns; Grad Katyusha Missile Explodes in Beer Sheva]; and Gaza Anti-Tank Fire Aimed at IDF

Dramatizing the Israeli mentality, despite what was imminent, Bibi Condemned Murder
of Palestinian Teen and called to express condolences to his parents; Israeli Police Hold

In other significant international news, McCain said ISIS Success Direct Result of US Failure; Maliki Placed

Finally, compounding the Merkel-BHO acrimony, Germany Arrested 'Double Agent' on Suspicion of

Arlene Kushner has captured both the feel and the politics of what is occurring; this is annotated
because one insertion probably emerged from an e-mail exchange I held with her yesterday, namely the
concept of relocating rock-throwers to the Gaza-Strip [perhaps invoking the same motive as that
employed when Georgia was established as a Colony, namely, this would become a haven for those who
had grappled with the law].

Very, Very Difficult

1802

I recognize that I must write, but its difficult to know what to say. For what I and to a
person those I deal with and relate to here - would have considered impossible has
allegedly happened: Jewish boys have killed an Arab teenager in a horrendous fashion.

I know only what news reports are feeding us. In spite of my best efforts, I have
accessed no inside information. Six boys have been arrested. At least one has allegedly
confessed and implicated others. Reportedly there has been some description of the
murder.

People are asking me how this could have happened, but I cannot answer. Indeed, I ask
myself.

From where I sit, there are still too many unknowns and were still too early into the
legal process. The boys at least some of whom are minors of 16, and none of whom
have been named - do have lawyers from an organization called Honenu. I am not
certain that the lawyers have even seen them yet yesterday one of the lawyers said
they still had to look at the evidence. There have been no indictments yet. Which does
not mean there wont be.

But I and my associates continue to wait to hear more about the unraveling of this
situation.

What has thrown us so what had us breathless with astonishment is that this feels so
much a not-Jewish way to do things. And, at the same time, the method of murdering
the boy, which involved burning him while he was still alive, falls within the norm of
Islam. The very best information we have on the victim is that he was a homosexual.
And within Islamic culture, this is the greatest of sins, meriting death. As I wrote
recently, its written in Islamic law that burning alive is an appropriate (indeed the
preferred) means of executing homosexuals.

And all of a sudden were being told that six boys did this for nationalistic reasons.
Why this boy? Why this method of killing him? Purely out of a nationalistic revenge
motivation? We dont have answers now. I do not know if we ever will. There are those
who will say that they picked this boy, and did it this way precisely so that Arabs would
be suspect. I dont know. But in the end we will have to accept and live with the
realities, or, more accurately, as close to reality as we can get however it grieves us.

The latest news on the boys is that they have been involved with criminal activity (of
what sort is unclear) in the past, and are being sent for psychiatric examinations.

~~~~~~~~~~
There are several significant issues of great concern that follow in the wake of this
tragedy.
First are the accusations of moral equivalency that are being leveled at Israel now
sometimes with a self-righteous tone on the part of those making the charges: See. see
what these Jews are capable of, exactly what the Arabs do.
1803
But this is a libel, a false accusation of the greatest calumny. When the three Jewish
boys were kidnapped, there were candies passed out in Arab communities. The mother
of one of those presumed to be a kidnapper said, If it turns out he did it, I will be very
proud of him.
Here there has been breast-beating, and stunned grieving that such a thing could have
happened.
Netanyahu put it very well:
I know that in our society, the society of Israel, there is no place for such murderers.
And thats the difference between us and our neighbors. They consider murderers to be
heroes. They name public squares after them. We dont. We condemn them and we
put them on trial and well put them in prison. (Emphasis added)
Our prime minister, in fact, expressed condolences by phone to the parents of the
murdered Arab boy. Can you imagine Abbas or any of his ilk doing the same in reverse?
Other officials and the Jewish families mourning the loss of their sons did the same.
Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon declared himself "ashamed and shocked by the cruel
murder of the teenager Muhammad Abu Khader...
"these despicable murderers do not represent the Jewish people and its values...
http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Yaalon-about-murder-of-Arab-teen-I-am-
ashamed-and-appalled-361698
Moral equivalency? Not on your life.
If you wish to help Israel, fight these charges of moral equivalency wherever and
however you can.
~~~~~~~~~~

Then we have the rioting mobs of Israeli Arabs inside of Israel. Ostensibly they have
been rioting because of the murder of the boy, but I see it as an excuse for violence.
Period. Without justification.

1804

They forced the closing of roads and pelted buses. They destroyed property and used
firebombs.

Police arrested a good number of people and used mob control techniques, but there
are very serious questions about how to deal with these rioting Arabs and much
criticism that they are being handled with insufficient firmness.

They cannot and must not be permitted to disrupt our society. The feeling, my friends,
of being besieged from within by people who truly hate us is not a pleasant one, I assure
you.

The significant point here is that were talking about people who are Israeli citizens.
Said Netanyahu (emphasis added):

"There's no place in the State of Israel for those who throw rocks at police; there's no
place for those who throw Molotov cocktails; there's no place for those who block
roads or damage property.

"You can't enjoy social security payments and child subsidies on one hand and on the
other hand violate the most basic laws of the State of Israel."

~~~~~~~~~~
There have been suggestions made about removing the citizenship of some and/or
deporting them to Gaza. I mention it here but will return to this if and as appropriate.
It is difficult not to feel bitter about being accused of being apartheid, when we have
in our midst persons with full rights who wish us ill.
~~~~~~~~~~

I must turn now to the final, very significant issue: That of the rockets from Gaza and the
question of our going in for a serious military operation.

As I wrote last, the barrage of rockets has continued. Our Air Force started going into
Gaza again, after remaining quiet for a period of time on Friday, in order to respond to
rocket launchings taking out a couple of Islamic Jihad terrorists in the process.

And yet, to the despair of many including yours truly, Netanyahu did not order a major
action. What seems apparent from my perspective is that the barrage continued
because Israel is seen as weak. While Netanyahu, for his part, is behaving with
regrettable reluctance because of the murder by Jews of the Arab youth.

Yet the fact of this murder should in no way impinge upon our right to defend ourselves.
Nor can we worry about the world thinks of us. Both Naftali Bennett and Avigdor
Lieberman criticized Netanyahus weakness in acting, as did others.

1805

Today Lieberman took a major step: He separated his party, Yisrael Beitenu, from the
Likud. (Likud and Yisrael Beitenu ran together in the last election.) The issue of
Netanyahus response to Hamas in Gaza was a primary motivating force. I see it as a
good move. Yisrael Beitenu is remaining in the Coalition, and so the government is not
threatened. It is Likud that is weakened.

~~~~~~~~~~
Now tonight, in a short interval of time, a far greater barrage of rockets and mortars
somewhere between 40 and 70 depending on the source was unleashed upon Israel.
Sirens went off in multiple locations and rockets headed towards Ashkelon and Ashdod.
Hamas claimed credit for this rocket barrage. Israel has called up 1,500 reservists and
increased action inside of Gaza by air. An invasion of Gaza seems imminent, although it
has not yet been set into action. I am reading that the Security Cabinet is calling for
phased escalation, although its not entirely clear what this entails.
In light of what Hamas is now demanding, I do not see how anything other than full war
can follow although Israel is taking her time getting there (emphasis follows):
a senior Hamas official told The Times of Israel that the group does not accept the
idea that quiet will be answered with quiet in the Gaza Strip, saying that if Israel
wants peace in the South it must release all the prisoners freed in exchange for Gilad
Shalit who were recently re-arrested following the abduction of the three Israeli
teens...
Omri Ceren of the advocacy group The Israel Project said, Now theyre refusing to
stop the rocket barrages until Israel lifts all restrictions on bringing materials into
Gaza. The odds of that happening are exactly zero percent. This was a condition meant
to give them a pretext for continued rocket attacks.
Ceren said, Its becoming fairly clear that Hamas thinks its their interest to escalate.
Militarily those moves risks a full-blown war with the Israelis.
It is desirable to take-pause regarding tobacco-related concerns, inasmuch as Ive been an anti-tobacco
activist for 1/3 of a century; the major current controversy undermines recently-adopted restrictions on
vaping [against which I testified], for there is no evidence that e-cigarettes are harmful, certainly not to
the same degree as cigarettes. The key-goal is harm-reduction, and e-cigs have neither tar nor CO, the
major etiologies of cancer and vascular disease, respectively. Perhaps reminiscent of their hay-days
[such as when, as my son never ceases to remind me, Boehner distributed Tobacco-$ to his colleagues
during House sessions in the 90s+, note that Tobacco lobbyists took advantage of legislative discord;
one might wonder why Hite would complain but, alas, the hunger for funding seems self-reinforcing.
Regarding the media, Battered wife media syndrome was manifest when 38 journalism groups [led by
the Society of Professional Journalists] complained to the Obama White House about numerous
offenses that were summed up as the "politically-driven suppression of news." Also, Bill OReilly FINALLY
released the results of his poll question related to Jason Mattera putting Hillary Clinton on the
spot regarding her role in Benghazi *Was the ambush of Hillary Clinton mentioning the late Ambassador
Christopher Stevens out of line?+. After 30,000 votes, the outcome wasnt even close; a whopping 62%
of his own audience voted NO, while only 38% agreed with Bill. Thus, notwithstanding the fact that his
viewership is loyal, it thinks independently. Also, Rosie O'Donnell will rejoin 'The View'; the
conservative-seat may be given either to Abby Huntsman [co-host of MSNBC's "The Cycle"] or
Margaret Hoover *CNN contributor+. Of course, neither is a True conservative, after having noted the
former transiently, recently, and after recalling the latters squishiness when she was on FNC,
particularly when on with OReilly.
It may be recalled that I briefly discussed [and praised] the first five chapters of the new
book on America: Imagine the World Without Her by Dinesh DSouza; Chapter Six
debunked claims by Native Americans that they should receive reparations for prior
treaty violations. Frank Gaffney's Secure Freedom Minute highlights this book/movie. A
scandal erupted after it was confirmed that wholesale retailer giant, Costco had began
removing this bestseller from their store shelves nationwide. Costco was SLAMMED on
Facebook, noting COSTCO'S CLOSE TIES TO DEMS; Obamas policies have been
supported by Costco co-founder and director Jim Sinegal, a major Democrat donor and a
speaker at the 2012 Democratic National Convention that nominated BHO,
while Obama has conducted a bromance with the nations second-largest retailer.
GOPs Civil-War is raging [vide infra] and Draining GOP Groups; through it all, POTUS-16 politics are
palpable. For example, evincing bipartisanship, Rand Paul teamed-up with Cory Booker to propose a
comprehensive overhaul of the U.S. criminal justice system. {The REDEEM Act encourages states to
change policies so children are directed away from the adult criminal justice system; automatically
expunges or seals criminal records of juveniles who committed nonviolent crimes; limits solitary
confinement of children; creates a path for adults with nonviolent offenses to seal their criminal
records; and restores food stamp and welfare benefits for low-level drug offenders who have served
their sentences.} Also, Huckabee wrote the forward to a book by Todd Akin ['Firing Back: Taking on the
Party Bosses and Media Elite to Protect Our Faith and Freedom'] in which he apologized for apologizing
['By asking the public at large for forgiveness ... I was validating the willful misinterpretation of what I
had said. ... My comment about a woman's body shutting the pregnancy down was directed to the
impact of stress of fertilization. This is something fertility doctors debate and discuss' ... ].
After Cruz issued a Report Blasting Obama, observing that the Courts are Shutting Down
Tons of Obama Policies, an effort was made by a Law professor to claim Cruz is lying
about bill to repeal the First Amendment; note use of the word lie by an academic
who probably fears what Cruz wrote. In this latter instance, it is claimed that the
amendment would merely state that, *t+o advance democratic self-government and
political equality, and to protect the integrity of government and the electoral process,
Congress and the States may regulate and set reasonable limits on the raising and
spending of money by candidates and others to influence elections. When the critic
discounted the fact that this undermines the First Amendment *by using merely+,
overtly ignored was the fact that the law-of-the-land is the Citizens United case; thus,
the WAY such limits would be established would be to suppress speech, and the key
black hole is how one might define reasonableness. Thus, this attack was tangential.
{Also noted, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, predicted Romney will be win Presidency in 16
and Chris Christie went back to NH , noting that basic questions about BridgeGate (What
did Christie know and when did he know it?) will probably not have been answered
until 2015.}
Unfortunately for Christie, final answers aren't likely to emerge for months, once all the
investigations wind down. Which all but ensures that as the country begins to turn its
attention to the 2016 presidential campaign he will still have some explaining to do."
TEA-PARTY CHALLENGE HAS Republican Pat Roberts of Kansas ON EDGE. After Cantors loss, 'I might be
next,' a deadly serious Roberts recalled telling fellow GOP Sen. Bob Corker during a ride on the Senate
subway, 'You never know.']. Roberts has emerged as a case study of the personal and professional toll
even a nominal challenge from the right can take on a sitting senator, and a vivid illustration of the
impact the tea party can have even when it loses, as it has in nearly every GOP Senate primary this year.
Roberts is widely expected to survive an Aug. 5 faceoff against tea party-backed Milton Wolf, whose
campaign has been treading water for months. But at 78 and now in his fourth decade in Congress, the
senator nonetheless has the look of a changed man. He has appeared increasingly on edge, several of
his colleagues say, and his voting pattern, according to rankings by conservative groups, has shifted
markedly to the right. A onetime Marine who began his congressional career the same month that
Ronald Reagan was sworn in as president, Roberts has never been the cheeriest guy in the Senate. But
the challenge by Wolf, whose biggest claim to fame is that he's a distant cousin of Barack Obama, has
sent the senator into a frequent state of agitation. 'Interview is over,' Roberts snapped in May at a
reporter who pressed him on whether election-year calculations prompted him to call on former
Democratic Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to resign as Health and Human Services chief even though he
had strongly backed her nomination.
Predictably, the GOP Picked Cleveland for 2016 Convention over Dallas due, assuredly,
to the fact that Ohio will probably be a swing-state]; also, the GOP will hold early
convention [June or July], presumably to allow a greater time-span for the fall campaign
to be organized and implemented. {Also note that Senator Portman, who helped Ohio
land convention, weighs presidential run.}
It may be recalled that Heritage Action has been railing against enhancing the funds for patching a
budget hole in the Highway Trust Fund [preferring states assume this job]; the SENATE FINANCE
COMMITTEE is expected to take up this issue imminently. Republicans complained it didn't include
spending cuts, and Wyden wants to win bipartisan support for his plan. This may again recall the
dynamic of liberal-Reps bonding with the Dems regarding the mutual desire to grow government;
Politico ignores conservative input.
It may also be recalled that Heritage Action has been railing against renewal of the
export-import bank [and has support from committee leadership and majority leader.
Well, Politico is silent on this fact as it reports HOUSE MAY TIE EX-IM BANK TO
FUNDING BILL *along with the Highway Trust Fund+, to wit: "Senior Republicans and
Democrats on Capitol Hill increasingly view a renewal of the Export-Import Bank as part
of a possible scenario to keep the government open past Sept. 30, according to multiple
sources in both chambers. High-level discussions between the two chambers are in their
1810
infancy, and senior aides caution there is no deal in the immediate offing. But there are
forces in both chambers pushing to renew the Export-Import Bank and pass an
extension of the Highway Trust Fund before the election."
This reference to a deal is reminiscent of the deals between BHO and the GOPs Congressional
leaders as they were actually capitulating to everything BHO wanted; thus, I suspect this will be a major
discussion-point during the next Sentinel update.
Retaking the Senate
By Jim Geraghty
A roundup of the Senate races shows the circumstances are good for Republicans, but
there's been a real lack of fresh polling in most of the big races. Those races in North
Carolina, Louisiana and Arkansas aren't looking like slam-dunks yet . . .
National Journal's Charlie Cook a.k.a., the other one asks if Democrats are starting
to tell themselves that losing the Senate wouldn't really be that bad:
Early this year, we saw Senate Democrats throw their House brethren
under the proverbial bus with a Jan. 29 story in Politico headlined,
"Democrats: Cede the House to Save the Senate." It noted that
Democrats' hold on their majority in the upper chamber was tenuous,
while over on the House side, the Democratic Congressional Campaign
Committee was raising money hand over fist despite having little chance
of reclaiming the majority House Democrats lost in 2010. It didn't take a
rocket scientist to figure out that Senate Democrats were trying to
redirect fundraising from what they saw as a lost cause on one side of
the Capitol to what they saw as a much more important one on their
side . . .
We saw it again this past week with the Washington Post's inimitable
Dana Milbank writing a column July 4 suggesting that perhaps the
Obama presidency might benefit from Democrats losing their Senate
majority. The crunching sound you heard was the bones of Senate
Democrats under a bus, a pretty fair indication that someone in or close
to the White House was beginning to rationalize why such an outcome
might not be as bad a thing as some might think all logic to the
contrary.
Identifying Those Relatively Apolitical Americans with Conservative Instincts
By Jim Geraghty
There's a demographic out there that I can describe but not label.
These folks are instinctively conservative, but probably don't apply that label to
themselves. They work for a living, or they are looking for work. They can't stand what
they perceive as whining.
1811
But they don't identify with the Republican Party. They look at the leadership of the
party, at least in Washington House Speaker John Boehner, Senate Minority Leader
Mitch McConnell, RNC Chair Reince Priebus and don't feel any sense of connection to
them.
In fact, they don't really relate to or connect with any particular politician. They either
tune out politics as much as possible, or they find the political process to be dominated
by adults acting like children and bickering in a selfish, obstinate manner.
One reason they don't feel any particular attachment to the current crop of Republican
leaders or perhaps the last Republican presidential standard-bearer, Mitt Romney is
that they're suspicious, or at least wary of Wall Street, or most big companies. They may
work for a big company but they don't feel a particular loyalty or identification with their
employer.
These folks might sound like potential Tea Partiers, but at some point, these folks either
tuned out the Tea Party or got turned off by some of the more fiery rhetoric. The tea-
party rallies almost inevitably feature somebody dressed up in Revolutionary War garb,
and that's not who they are.
Some people will see this as cute, some will see it as silly.
However, Common Core drives them nuts because they don't understand the homework
their kid is bringing home. They feel sorry for all of the children from Central America
coming over the border right now, but they don't feel that taking care of those kids
should be America's duty.
When these folks get galvanized, it's more often by a figure outside the political arena
who articulates a conservative value. Think of Tim Tebow, or Dr. Ben Carson, or Dirty Jobs
host Mike Rowe soon to return to CNN lamenting America's lawsuit-minded culture
and the loss of a sense of shame. Or Gene Simmons of Kiss, arguing that it's silly to
demonize the rich, important to assimilate immigrants, and to stand by Israel in the
Middle East.
Or Adam Carolla, raging against political correctness . . .
It's weird that comedians are on the list of people who are offending
other people with the things they say. It's counterintuitive. It's like I
think every year Variety or The Hollywood Reporter or one of those
magazines comes out with a list of celebrities or notables that hate the
gay community. Whatever it is. I was on that list, because in 2011 I
made a joke about Chaz Bono. Jesus Christ, if you can't joke about Chaz
Bono, then we're all through! They had Tracy Morgan, several of the
people on the list were comedians. And when did this start up? They're
comedians, onstage, making jokes! They may mean it half the time, but
they're still making jokes, why are they held to the same standard as
statesmen?
Here's Nicole Curtis, host of Rehab Addict on HGTV, in a February Facebook post:
1812
In the past couple of weeks, I have had a few unpleasant experiences
with women who actually had the nerve to state that they are a
minority business owner (because they are a woman) and that should
do what? This is where I bang my head I am a business owner who
happens to be a woman -- don't judge me on my gender judge me on
my work ladies you want equal ground gain it by being equal in
professionalism and quality of work not by making excuses that you
are a small minority business owner. It brings the rest of us down. I
scrubbed floors for 10 years and worked my rear off to get where I am
at don't think for a minute that I'm the person to whine to that you
should be able to short step the process of dedication because you are a
woman last time I checked, I am too. We are all given opportunities
when we put the time in and develop the drive teach your daughters
that that's how you get ahead no entitlement here, please.
Even a bit of chef-turned-TV-travelogue host Anthony Bourdain:
In New York, where I live, the appearance of a gun anywhere is a
cause for immediate and extreme alarm. Yet, in much of America, I have
come to find, it's perfectly normal. I've walked many times into bars in
Missouri, Nevada, Texas, where absolutely everyone is packing. I've sat
down many times to dinner in perfectly nice family homes where at
end of dinner Mom swings open the gun locker and invites us all to
step into the back yard and pot some beer cans. That may not be Piers
Morgan's idea of normal. It may not be yours. But that's a facet of
American life that's unlikely to change.
I may be a New York lefty with all the experiences, prejudices and
attitudes that one would expect to come along with that, but I do NOT
believe that we will reduce gun violence or reach any kind of
consensus by shrieking at each other. Gun owners the vast
majority of them I have met are NOT idiots. They are NOT psychos.
They are not even necessarily Republican (New Mexico, by the way, is a
Blue State). They are not hicks, right wing "nuts" or necessarily violent
by nature. And if "we" have any hope of ever changing anything in this
country in the cause of reason and the safety of our children we
should stop talking about a significant part of our population as if they
were lesser, stupider or crazier than we are.
It's almost as if the political arena delegitimizes the voices of its participants. But when a
figure untainted by the 24-7 hypocritical rugby scrum that is our politics expresses what
we would consider to be a conservative value, a lot of folks who aren't into politics
applaud.
Am I describing instinctively-conservative populists? Or is this the "libertarian populist"
phenomenon described by Ben Domenech and Conn Carroll?
These two essays establish concepts that are c/w this: NY Times: Liberal Kids Turning Conservative .
1813
Sarah Palin has again emerged, focused on impeachment; she noted Obama Has
Committed at Least 25 Impeachable Offenses, that Illegal Immigration was the 'Tipping
Point' on promoting this intervention, that [regarding Boehner Lawsuit] 'You Don't Bring
a Lawsuit to a Gunfight'; and that patriots should Tell Congress to Consider
Impeaching 'Imperial President.' In response, BOEHNER NIXED IMPEACHMENT although
a Drudge-Poll *SHOULD REPUBLICANS IMPEACH OBAMA?] yielded:
YES 72.8% (238,257 votes)
NO 12.91% (42,233 votes)
NOT NOW 14.29% (46,766 votes)
Total Votes: 100% (327,256 votes)
Exemplifying why mere introduction of this concept has prompted people to focus are
the reactions of Mark Levin [Sarah Palin "Exactly Right' on Impeachment, 'Stands with
the Framers'] and MSNBC'S DYSON [PALIN'S CALL FOR IMPEACHMENT 'TREASONOUS'].
The Dems are increasingly aware that, as per CONGRESSMEN King and Stockman, OBAMA is now USING
'CLOWARD-PIVEN MANEUVER' [regarding the Illegals, along with everything else]; Obama is also using
Operation Choke Point to bypass Congress and to destroy over two dozen free-market industries. But
Obama Isnt Prepared to Face Security Challenges and even the NYT has suggested Obama's Ineptness
May Make Young Americans More Conservative. That is why [in addition to courting Native Americans
[previously elucidated], Harry Reid's wages war against the Koch brothers, a highly unusual election-year
campaign against a couple of relatively unknown private citizens whom Reid and his Dems are seeking to
make into caricatures of a GOP that, on issue after issue, [he will claim] caters to the very rich at the
expense of everyone else. {Again, invoking class-warfare on behalf of the unifier-in-chief.-
There is a certain irony about the Dems use of Dark Money when promoting Campaign
Finance Reform; a liberal campaign finance reformer with ties to one of the lefts
leading dark money outfits succeeded last week in raising $5 million to elect politicians
who will pledge to reduce the influence of money in the American political process. Yet,
notwithstanding such hypocrisy *for, some would aver, this is the norm in politics+,
Dems Need a Bubba Strategy TO REACH THE 99%; it shouldn't cede NASCAR voters:
Candidates need an effective way to communicate their empathy for the downtrodden
without sounding condescending or disingenuous. The lines between urban and rural
are blurring physically as well. Speaking the language of the new American underclass
requires understanding and respecting rural culture. Even if Democratic candidates
support policies that would benefit people facing hard times, they may not get their
votes if they don't make an authentic effort to identify with them. It is a tactic that Sen.
Mark Warner mastered in winning his Senate seat. But at best, the Bubba Strategy can
play a role only in cutting margins or building a coalition in most elections."
But the Dems appear to be running-scared, as evidenced by Mark Udall and the CO Governor [plus
Other Prominent Dems] not Attending Obama's Denver Speech; a pundit characterizes this behavior as
Playing in Traffic Is Not Safe Politics. Other Dems are stressed *Eldridge Trailing by 35 in Internal Poll;
The chairman of the Ventura County, Calif., Democratic Central Committee celebrated the Fourth of July
weekend by accusing Republicans of backing Nazis and discussing the size of conservative mens genitals
on Twitter; and Rep. Bruce Braley (D., Iowa) Keeps Making Farmer Gaffes in his Senate campaign, the
latest being his false-claim of being a farmer in a video (not smart noting this is a dominant industry)].
And another Dem thinks he has been unjustly attacked: CUBANS ALLEGEDLY PLOTTED TO SMEAR
1814
MENENDEZ, about which MATTHEW BOYLE [the former Daily Caller reporter behind the Menendez
prostitution stories] gave no comment.
These problems are exemplified by just a few updates of BHOs Scandal-sheet [Hume:
'The Scandals Taken Together Add Up to a Series of Failures']: the IRS Is Ready to Move
On, but the American People Are Not, inasmuch as Issa thinks a 'Smoking gun' memo is
embodied in Lerners warning to IRS employees that they hide information from
Congress because we 'Need to be cautious about what we say in emails' [although it
seems she used instant-messages to avoid leaving any trail+; Benghazi panel ramped-
up and received briefing; and VA Doctor Who Copied and Pasted Notes Still Employed
and VA whistleblowers detailed pervasive retribution, carried out in a personal manner.
Therefore, Attorney Neil Eggleston returned to a White House under legal siege [instead
of looking toward a comfortable retirement on the generous nest egg he built through
high-stakes representation of prominent D.C. officials (such as Rahm Emanuel and
former Bush White House political director Sara Taylor Fagen) plus corporate clients].
Instead, he's returning to a grueling post, forced to contend on multiple legal fronts. The
61-year-old Eggleston has come on as chief counsel as President Barack Obama faces
congressional investigations, pushback from the Supreme Court, and House Speaker
John Boehner's announcement last month that he intends to sue the president over his
stepped-up use of executive orders. [Eggleston predicted the Boehner-matter will be
quickly dismissed by a judge for a lack of legal standing. 'As I used to tell clients in
private practice, anybody can sue anybody over anything,' Eggleston [said] from his
West Wing corner office. 'The fact that he's going to say that he's going to bring some
lawsuit is not going to affect what the president is going to do.'
Note also how the Dems abuse The Forgotten Taxpayer: BILLIONS IN TAXPAYER DOLLARS SPENT ON
'LYRICAL, POETIC' EMBASSY ARCHITECTURE OVERSEAS and Taxpayers Will Now Pay for More of Obama's
Colorado Fundraising Trip; also, Improper Payments Top $500B During Obama Years; by its own
estimate, the government made about $100 billion in payments last year to people who may not have
been entitled to receive them (tax credits to families that didn't qualify, unemployment benefits to
people who had jobs and medical payments for treatments that might not have been necessary).
This then translates [poorly] when assessing the views of Millennials; they Believe
Government Has Failed and Yet They Want More of It. Two-thirds of millennials--the 18-
29-year-olds who were key to the election and re-election of President Barack Obama--
now say that government is inefficient and wasteful. And yet just as many of them say
they want more government, regardless: they want government to provide health
insurance, they want government to guarantee a living wage, they want government to
pay for college, and they want government to provide for the poor].
On each major domestic issue, BHO is on the defensive. Regarding gun-laws, Between Thursday and
Monday, 82 shot and 14 Killed in Chicago Violence and Pregnant woman shot dead driving on Chicago's
Dan Ryan Expressway; the Police Superintendent blamed 'Lax' Gun Laws [despite their being, along with
D.C.s, among the strictest in the nation] and, as a result, the Real Clear Politics Co-Founder declared
Rahm Emanuel's Chicago to be a 'War Zone' and Jesse Jackson wants $2 billion to fight Chicago violence.
Meanwhile, Two Robberies occurred at Target Since Chain Asked Law-Abiding Citizens to Shop Unarmed
and Murder and Violent Crime Fell as Concealed & Carry Rose 130 Percent, the latter providing support
for a Concealed & Carry Groups suit against Ohio State University for Infringing Gun Rights; politically,
Bloombergs Gun Control Push will entail 'Pulling The Trigger' on Red-State Dems and GOP Senators
Push Repeal of Gun Control and Elimination of Certain 'Gun Free Zones.' {Also, note a CA Man was
Prevented from Displaying U.S. Flag Inside Home.}
Regarding education, Common Core has Become a national Nightmare, as Louisiana
Gov. Bobby Jindal Responded to Ed. Sec. Duncan's Slam over Common Core and New
York GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Rob Astorino announced he will Seek 'Stop Common
Core' Ballot Line; meanwhile, The president of a major teachers Union Defended
group] after having been challenged by a pair of public school principals.
Regarding ObamaDontCare, it seems a Dem House Candidates Wifes OBGYN Practice Doesnt Accept
Medicaid, and details emerged regarding a Case That Could Send Obamacare Back To The Supreme
Court; through it all, the Feds (NIH) Spent $430,608 to study how getting mothers to dance with their
daughters can fight obesity. I have harped on the need for the House GOP to propose an ACA alternative
during the past year, although Republicans remain stymied by efforts to craft a functional replacement;
when I studied this issue last August, there were versions generated by Scalese and Price [which differed
inter alia regarding the level of default-exchanges, federal vs. state]; I would simply hope that they
would co-adopt the work of John C. Goodman [who is the maven, according to what Ive been told by
myriad individuals, including Sen. Pat Toomey]. {As a result, regarding America's Economic Woes, Jobs
Literary Analysis
After students were assigned to write a report on two stories [the movie 'Titanic' and
'My Life' by Bill Clinton], one student turned in the following, with the proposition that
they were nearly identical stories! [His cool teacher gave him an A+.]
Titanic:..... The story of Jack and Rose, their forbidden love, and subsequent catastrophe.
Clinton:.... The story of Bill and Monica, their forbidden love, and subsequent catastrophe.
Titanic:.. Jack is a starving artist.
Clinton:.... Bill is a bullshit artist.
Titanic:.... In one scene, Jack enjoys a good cigar.
Clinton:... Ditto for Bill.
Titanic:.... During the ordeal, Rose's dress gets ruined.
Clinton:... Ditto for Monica.
Titanic:. Jack teaches Rose to spit.
Clinton:... Let's not go there.
Titanic:.... Rose gets to keep her jewelry.
Clinton:... Monica' s forced to return her gifts.
Titanic:.... Rose remembers Jack for the rest of her life.
Clinton.... Clinton doesn't remember Jack.
Titanic:.... Rose goes down on a vessel full of seamen.
White House: $3.8 billion needed to deal with influx of minors at border - The White House on Tuesday
will request $3.8 billion from Congress in emergency funding to deal with an influx of unaccompanied
minors from Central America, a far higher amount than the Obama administration had previously
signaled, according to a Capitol Hill source familiar with the plans. The White House opted not to include
legislative language calling on the unaccompanied children to be deported more quickly to their home
countries. But officials made clear that their intent is to speed the current turnaround process by
increasing money for the immigration courts and putting a priority on recent arrivals.
OBAMA ISN'T GOING TO THE BORDER - There are very few upsides, write National Journal's James
Oliphant and George E. Condon Jr.: "President Obama evidently has decided not to put a human face on
the crisis unfolding at the southern U.S. border-not even his own. The White House said over and over
again Monday that Obama will not travel to the border with Mexico despite flying to Texas this week to
raise money for Democratic candidates there. It's certainly in part a political decision, one meant to
1817
avoid taking ownership of a difficult issue on which the White House would prefer to share blame. But
it's also one that will inflame Obama's critics on both the right and left who say the administration has
been too passive in response to the thousands of young border-crossers swamping U.S. detention
facilities. In other words, if Obama goes to the border, he owns the problem. If he doesn't, he's blasted
for a lack of leadership."
GOP WANTS QUICKER DEPORTATIONS OF CHILD MIGRANTS - Kristina Peterson and Colleen McCain
Nelson report for the WSJ: "Republican lawmakers on Wednesday called for a change in law so that
many children crossing the U.S. border could be deported more quickly, and some said the change
should be a condition of approving President Barack Obama's request for $3.7 billion to stem a surge in
minors entering the country. A group appointed by House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) as well as
some rank-and-file Republicans said they would push to revise a 2008 law when considering Mr.
Obama's funding request to address what he has called an 'urgent humanitarian situation' on the
border. The president has asked for more flexibility with the law, and on Wednesday, he suggested the
changes be included in the emergency spending bill."
Let's Show Some Compassion at the Border . . . for American Citizens, Too!
By Jim Geraghty
Of course:
1819
President Obama is holding off for now on seeking new legal authority to send
unaccompanied migrant kids back home faster from the Southern border, following
criticism that the administration's planned changes were too harsh.
The Acela Corridor Establishment's conventional wisdom is that "comprehensive immigration reform"
ought to legalize the 11 million or so in the country illegally. The same crowd now insists any proposal
involving sending the kids back to their home countries is insufficiently compassionate.
How about some compassion for the communities currently trying to deal with the tsunami of
unattended children? Here's how the AP describes one stretch of our border in Mission, Texas:
The influx of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border has grown so large that it now
requires its own transportation system: government buses that spend each night idling
on a Texas roadside, awaiting the latest arrivals . . .
Just since October, the Border Patrol's Rio Grande Valley sector has made more than
194,000 arrests, nearly triple that of any other sector. In the first week of June alone,
agents in this area south of Mission arrested more than 2,800 people, most from
Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, making it the highest-volume arrest zone on the
entire U.S. border. More than 60 percent were children . . .
Across the river is a garbage dump and a Reynosa slum that reaches nearly to the bank.
Smoke from burning garbage sometimes drifts across the river so thick it's difficult to
see. At the river's edge, discarded pieces of clothing, orange life vests and deflated inner
tubes litter the sand.
A few days earlier, as a reporter in a kayak approached a hairpin bend in the river, a
cartel sentry on a bluff 20 feet above the river slammed a magazine into his assault rifle.
He asked where the paddler had come from and who gave him permission to be there.
A radio squawked at his waist. The cartel controls what crosses the river.
That's part of why Napoleon Garza doesn't bring his kids here to fish like he did as a
child. Garza recently drove through one of the many gaps in the border wall to cut a tree
stump from property owned by his uncle.
"When they built the border wall, everything ended because they left a big old gap right
here that so happened to be where our land is," said Garza, 38, who sells firewood for a
living.
How about some compassion for the U.S. Border Patrol personnel trying to humanely deal with a
problem they were never trained to address? Suddenly they have to do the job of the Centers for
Disease Control as well:
Approximately 40 immigrants in detention at one center in the U.S. Customs and Border
Protection's San Diego Sector have active cases of scabies, a source tells National
Review Online, and they could soon be spreading it to the general public.
A Border Patrol agent who helped process illegal immigrants at the Chula Vista Border
Patrol Station on Sunday tells NRO that the 40 immigrants infected with scabies arrived
on a plane that landed July 4, carrying about 140 immigrants total.
1820
The agent says the people at FEMA who are responsible for doing the medical screening
of the immigrants before they're transferred to California should be fired.
"Management's more concerned about processing and getting rid of them as quickly as
possible than looking at decontamination," the agent says. "And [the released illegal
immigrants] go out in the community, get on the public transportation, go where they
need to go, and it could result in another infestation of scabies being spread
everywhere."
But the San Diego Sector was already dealing with a scabies outbreak when the latest
batch of illegal immigrants arrived. Two agents at the Brown Field Border Patrol Station
developed rashes on July 3 after processing illegal immigrants from Texas, according to
a letter obtained by NRO written by Ron Zermeno, health and safety director of National
Border Patrol Council Local 1613. Zermeno confirmed the veracity of the letter and the
facts contained therein to NRO.
How about a proposal that anybody who wants these kids to stay in the United States has to open their
home to them? The loudest Acela Corridor advocates of "comprehensive immigration reform" live their
lives far from sustained contact with any actual illegal immigrants. Perhaps there's an outside chance
that they employ some illegal immigrants as gardeners or housekeepers. Perhaps they bus or wait the
tables at their favorite restaurants. But they live very far from the problems that mass illegal
immigration brings. They certainly don't face downward pressure on wages from illegal immigrants
getting paid under the table. They don't encounter gangs. They live far from the violence and their only
encounter with a drug cartel is a secretive encounter with their smuggled product.
Here's another proposal: If Obama gets the $2 billion he wants to build the infrastructure to process
these illegal immigrants, the holding facilities have to be built in places like Hyde Park in Chicago, the
Upper West Side in Manhattan, Billionaire's Row in San Francisco and Marin County, California,
Burlington, Vermont . . .
The Executive Summary of what you just received [focused upon Domestic concerns] would be to note
the following key-points [plus annotation, of course]; the Islamism sweeping the globe is then tackled.
Again, it is advised to check-out writings on the websites [and streaming-blogs] of [list incomplete!]
compiles a dozen graphs of straight news+. This is an entry on todays Daily Alert, which has
archived all of its Blasts:
Why Did Hamas Provoke a War? - Elliott Abrams (Council on Foreign Relations)
, consider Hamass situation a week ago. The economic situation in Gaza is dire,
due both the reduced Iranian support and to the closure of the border with Egypt by the
Egyptian Army. Hamas needed a way out of its increasingly difficult situation.
Kerrys peace negotiations might have delivered some shake-up in the overall
Israeli-Palestinian situation, but they failed. Hamas then tried a political maneuver: a
deal with Fatah and the Palestinian Authority to form a non-party government in
Ramallah.
-age boys and young men do not join Hamas in order to police Gazas borders
and prevent Islamic Jihad from attacking Israel; they joinin order to attack Israel. Hamas
was risking the charge from other terrorists that it was an auxiliary police force for
Israel, and risking that young men would drift away to those other terrorist groups. So,
the Hamas leadership decided it had to shake things up.
Hamass desperation. For so far, Hamas has not done much damage to Israel.
this war because it saw too many threats to its survival and dominance in Gaza, comes
to see continued war as the key threat. Those who want the violence to end must
realize that the larger is the Israeli effort now, the sooner Hamas will conclude this
round must be ended.
Recall that Ive been interacting with Rep. Mike Vereb regarding efforts to create a Log Cabin GOP
Chapter in PA and, within that context, I wrote the following subject-line to him atop a blank e-mail on
7/4/2014: Why not delay the vote of the goodies until AFTER the pension has been approved? Well,
someone must have been listening [remember, Mike is in leadership via his role as secretary of the
House GOP Caucus] because, regarding the PA-Budget, GOV SIGNS PA BUDGET, VETOES LEGISLATIVE
FUNDING. Gov. Corbett, in a news conference on PA budget, said the legislature is failing taxpayers by
not acting on pension reform and, thus, 'Today I am item vetoing $65M in general assembly spending &
an additional $7.2M in legislative-designated spending.' He said lawmakers are leaving town without
finishing business, and he blasted special interest groups for blocking legislation by noting PA doesn't
have a rainy day fund. ['But the legislature does?'] EARLIER, this VETO and/or a SPECIAL SESSION were
1822
STUDIED BY CORBETT TO PUSH PA PENSION REFORM. {Also noted, the 'Revenge porn' bill was sent back
to PA Senate for approval.}
{Needless to write, Im THRILLED with what has transpired, and one may anticipate a
positive bump in the polls thereafter; clearly, hes tossing caution-to-the-wind and hes
doing-the-right-thing simultaneously.} It was also suggested that, 'If Mr. Corbett signed
the fiscal code, he would be breaking a core campaign promise to end WAMS' but, to
me, this is now being invoked as a type of social pressure upon both ways the unions
have been operating *they own all Dems and rent some Rs+
It may be noted that I provided my version of a data-dump regarding the burgeoning set of articles
regarding Illegals; essentially, BHO is now being subjected to bipartisan critique for not even having
visited the border while in Texas to attend multiple $-raisers. It will be fascinating to note which Dems
will accede to the request of the GOP to close the loophole through which the kids are passing [based on
efforts to stop sex-trafficking, at the time] if he is to receive the additional $3.8 billion appropriation
[which is also to be expanded to include wild-fires]. Essentially, in one fell-swoop, all Americans are
experiencing the effects *financial, too, on local governments+ of BHOs lawlessness; this was manifest
when locals stopped flights of illegals to San Diego, and other communities could easily mobilize. That
some of these Illegals include gang-members and those who have admitted having tortured people,
confessionals such as these would only tend to harden attitudes regarding the priority of deportation.
Buried among them was evidence of [understandable, based upon their ministries focused on the poor]
complicity by Catholic Churches [which are Providing Housing for Illegals], and emphasized initially was
an event with local import [A two-time illegal immigrant was charged with rape in Philly, now a
sanctuary city; City cops wont work with feds unless Honduran immigrant convicted, and he could
become the Willie Horton of the immigration crisis]. BREAKING: It is U.S. government bypassing ICE,
deputizing the Catholic Church to process illegals.
OBAMA LAUGHED HIS WAY THROUGH BORDER MEETING WITH TEXAS GOVERNOR RICK PERRY
Is there anything particularly funny about this?
Illegals Continue To Walk All Over Obama
Cruz offered obama directions to border.
Unaccompanied Alien Children Program already Cost $263 Million This Year
Last night, I attended a meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition starring two GOP Congressional
candidates in New Jersey [Garry Cobb in #1 District and Tom MacArthur in #3 District]. Lest they be
1824
quoted out-of-context, I will only restate what I said *in the form of a question la Jeopardy+ @ the
end, framing my tersely-provided input as a question *Cannot concerns regarding big-government be
remedied conceptually as the need to invoke federalism, thereby empowering states and locals and
families and individuals (in that pecking order)?+, a comment *Cannot the major foreign policy
problems be remedied conceptually by recognizing the Islamists are still fighting the Crusades?+, and a
thought.
These points were made after a preface identified them as addressing the three legs
of public policy [domestic, foreign, social] and, thus, everyone was poised to wonder
what facet of social-issues [conveyed as a libertarian, but not a libertine] was imminent.
Instead I conveyed why I had observed what Garry Cobb had said @ the beginning of his remarks *I try
to walk the talk+ and in the middle thereof *We must re-emphasize the importance of government
taking the back-seat to families.+. Prior to the event, he was sitting in the near-corner, stage-left; before
it started, a young black lady sat down in the back-corner, stage-right. As she was descending into her
chair, I watched Garry rise from his chair, perhaps four-inches, just as one might do after dinner, when
ones wife excuses herself to go to the washroom with her lady-friends. In any case, I conveyed this
observation to an appreciative crowd, prompting Garry to invite me to dinner. [!]
To this independent [and highly-critical] observer, what happened was one of the indicia
that he will be able to emulate humility, sensitivity, wit, and intelligence comparable to
those traits of the *far quieter+ incumbent *Jon Runyan+. Garrys style *if you will+ is to
wrap vignettes around key-concepts, policy wonks may be left hungry, but Camden
kids [and their parents] may find his observations will resonate.
Not to be ignored, as an example of how well Garry did, was his snap-response to my Question,
Democrats attack people who talk of states rights as racists. I learned this point almost four years ago
while dining with a wealthy Main Line attorney, and it IDs *in ways that permeate many issues+ the
warped perceptual-grid through which Dems filter news and history. He knew the derivation of the TEA
*Taxed Enough Already+ Party Movement, and Tom demonstrated knowledge and experience *and his
plans+; not elaborating on Tom herein doesnt discount his remarks, for he passionately supported
Israels fundamental needs, plus the need for America to stand for Freedom.
Israel Launched a Military Offensive Against Gaza Militants Tuesday, although you wont know it by
listening to the morning-cable stations; perhaps they are so confident of BBs competence that they
1825
dont see anything extraordinary occurringor perhaps theyre awaiting reports of alleged atrocities
before focusing on what is happening [and why]. [The CNN 6 p.m. newscast opened with 7 minutes of
reportage from Gaza City, detailing carnage (including a baby , of course); Wolf Blitzer is incorrigible.]
Meanwhile, right-on-cue, BHO started beating-up on Eretz Yisrael; note comprehensive-comments in
Commentary [As Rockets Fly, Administration Blasts Israel] and then note a more flamboyant analysis:
Obama Administration Decides NOW Is a Good Time to Denounce Israel
By Jim Geraghty
An abominably dumb policy towards Israel may not crack the top ten worst Obama
policies during this presidency . . . but that's just because of fierce competition from
letting veterans die, the forced cancellation of health-insurance plans, higher insurance
premiums, a recovery that never feels like an actual recovery, the collapse of Iraq, the
looming collapse of Afghanistan, playing footsie with Tehran, a "reset button" that only
generated more open Russian aggression, runaway debt . . .
In an unusually harsh major foreign policy address, Philip Gordon, a special assistant to
US President Barack Obama and the White House coordinator for the Middle East,
appealed to Israeli and Palestinian leaders to make the compromises needed to reach a
permanent peace agreement. Jerusalem "should not take for granted the opportunity to
negotiate" such a treaty with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who has
proven to be a reliable partner, Gordon said.
"Israel confronts an undeniable reality: It cannot maintain military control of another
people indefinitely. Doing so is not only wrong but a recipe for resentment and recurring
instability," Gordon said. "It will embolden extremists on both sides, tear at Israel's
democratic fabric and feed mutual dehumanization."
Buddy, are you even paying attention to what's gong on outside the conference hall?
Hostilities between Israel and Palestinian militants were intensifying Wednesday, with
more rockets launched toward Israel and war planes carrying out airstrikes on sites in
Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
The Israel Air Force targeted 160 sites in Gaza since midnight Tuesday after militants
from the Palestinian territory fired more than 225 rockets into southern and central
Israel on Monday and Tuesday, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
On Tuesday night the militants expanded their attacks, which had been focused on
southern Israel, to the center of the country. Residents of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv --
Israel's two largest cities were forced into bomb shelters at the sound of air-raid
sirens.
Yes, America does have a dog in this fight, because one side is apparently executing
American citizens:
1826
Three Israeli teenagers who were abducted by Palestinians in the occupied West Bank
last month were shot at least 10 times with a silenced gun in what appeared to be
premeditated killings, a U.S. official involved in the investigation said.
The disclosure clashed with speculation by some Israeli and Palestinian commentators
that the captors intended to take hostages for a prisoner exchange but panicked and
shot them.
The killing of the three Jewish seminary students followed the collapse of U.S.-brokered
peace talks in April. One of them, 16-year-old Naftali Fraenkel, also held American
citizenship.
As rockets rained down on their heads, our president and his team seem ferociously and irrationally,
critical of Israel, noting that a Top Obama official blasted Israel for denying Palestinians sovereignty,
security, and dignity. Also, as Israel prepared this wider campaign on Gaza, US signaled limited support.
AMAZINGLY, STATE DEPT. WILL NOT DEFEND WHITE HOUSE CRITICISM OF ISRAEL - Conflicting messages
from the Obama administration to Israel are prompting concerns that the White House may not have a
coherent strategy in place as the crisis in the Middle East escalates, according to former U.S. and Israeli
officials. Here is what BHO wrote in Haaretz, reflecting the obfuscation emanating from D.C.:
Peace Is the Only Path to True Security for Israel and the Palestinians
I've seen what security means to children in Sderot who just want to grow up
without fear, to families who've lost their homes and everything they have to Hizballah's
and Hamas's rockets.
And as a father myself, I cannot imagine the pain endured by the parents of
Naftali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaar and Eyal Yifrach, who were tragically kidnapped and
murdered in June. I am also heartbroken by the senseless abduction and murder of
Mohammed Hussein Abu Khdeir, whose life was stolen from him and his family.
From Harry Truman through today, the United States has always been Israel's
greatest friend.
Budgets in Washington are tight, but our commitment to Israel's security
remains ironclad. The United States is committed to providing more than $3 billion each
year to help finance Israel's security through 2018. American investments in Israel's
cutting-edge defense systems like the Arrow interceptor system and Iron Dome are
saving lives.
We are also working to ensure that Iran does not ever possess a nuclear
weapon. Through tough international negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, we are
attempting to peacefully address a major threat to global and regional security,
including the security of Israel.
We hav always been clear-eyed that resolving the decades-old conflict between
Israelis and Palestinians would take enormous effort and require difficult decisions by
the parties.
Peace is necessary because it's the only way to ensure a secure and democratic
future for the Jewish state of Israel.
Peace is also, undeniably, just. Just as the Israeli people have the right to live in
the historic homeland of the Jewish people, the Palestinian people deserve the right to
1827
self-determination. In President Abbas, Israel has a counterpart committed to a two-
state solution and security cooperation with Israel.
Finally, peace is possible. This is one of the most important things to remember
during setbacks and moments of frustration. It will take political will to make the
difficult choices that ar necessary and support from the Israeli and Palestinian people
and civil society. Both parties must be willing to take risks for peace.
Compare/contrast BHOs pacifist pablum *supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood+ and this candor,
noting that a bill defunding the PA would probably pass the House [thereby confounding BHO] noting
the illogic of funding the enemy of our allies [including Egypt and Jordan]:
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, reacting to the violence in the Middle East, said that there are now
enough senators ready to cut the $440 million U.S. taxpayers send to the Palestinian
Authority every year.
But, he said, Democratic leaders are holding up a vote. And on Monday, Republican
Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee blocked Sen. Rand Paul's bill to cut aid, believing that it
should go to committee before the full Senate.
The violence between Israel and Palestine has soared since the killings of three Israelis
and one Palestinian youth. Both sides on Tuesday fired rockets into each country.
Cruz, interviewed on The Mark Levin Show late Monday night, said U.S. aid should be
cut because of evidence the terrorist group Hamas is working in a unity government
with the Palestinian authority. He criticized Hamas in a Jerusalem Post column also.
Hamas are open terrorists, he said. The Palestinian Authority has now formed a so-
called unity government with Hamas, with this open terrorist group, he said.
While the State Department has denied there is a joint government, Cruz told Levin,
The U.S. should not spend a single penny to any unity government that has Hamas as a
part of it. We shouldn't be sending us taxpayer dollars to fund terrorists.
Cruz, however, said the presidents allies are stopping a Senate vote. If we had a vote
on it we probably would get a majority of senators, which is precisely why Harry Reid in
all likelihood would prevent a vote. What Harry Reid does over and over again is prevent
votes on anything that would put even the tiniest scrutiny on the Obama
administration, said Cruz.
Dave Brat Slammed Obama Administration on Israel
Posted By David Steinberg On July 9, 2014 @ 10:41 pm [h/t Scott Feigelstein of Rep. J. Coal.]
Yesterday morning, I reached out to the Brat team to see if they would be making any
statement on the situation in Israel today. I forwarded along a link then hosted at the
top of the Drudge Report to yesterdays statements by Philip Gordon, the White
Houses coordinator for the Middle East, in which Gordon criticized the Israeli
government for not currently negotiating with Mahmoud Abbas. (PJ Medias Ron
Radosh criticized Gordon here, and The Times of Israel editor David Horovitz did so
here.) I had heard from some very few, but some conservatives who were
concerned about the loss of Eric Cantor regarding the only issue they trusted Cantor on,
1828
and I thought asking for a response to the statements by Philip Gordon might yield a
good barometer of Brats Middle East intentions.
Moments ago, Brats team emailed back with his comments:
Statement of Dave Brat regarding the recent speech at the Israel
Conference on Peace in Tel Aviv given by Philip Gordon, the White
House coordinator for the Middle East:
I am deeply troubled by the remarks from the Obama Administration,
both for the incompetence in Middle East affairs that the remarks
demonstrate and for the narcissism inherent in suggesting that the
Obama administration knows how to protect Israeli citizens better than
Israel does.
The White House just rebuked Israel for supposedly not taking
advantage of the opportunity to negotiate with Palestinian Authority
President Mahmoud Abbas just weeks after Abbas welcomed Hamas
the terrorist organization now attempting to murder Jewish civilians
with missile strikes on their cities back into his unity government.
The White House has criticized Israels government for not offering
concessions to the very terrorists who have driven Israeli citizens into
bomb shelters and who choose to operate from residential areas, using
innocent bystanders as human shields.
Most Americans recognize Israels right to defend itself from the
terrorist regime sworn to its destruction. Unlike the administration, we
reject the idea that terrorist missiles are somehow the fault of Israels
government and that all would be well if only Israel sacrificed even
more of its security.
is a response to Palestinian terrorism launched from Gaza against Israeli civilians. The previous two
rounds of the conflict ended with Hamas still in power in the Gaza Strip, weakened but able to re-arm
over time and to project a strategic threat. There are five reasons, however, this time may be different.
1. By Attacking Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Hamas Has Invited Its Own Destruction.
2. Obama Is on the Wrong Side--and Irrelevant.
3. None of Hamas's Usual Allies Are Going to Help.
4. Iron Dome Has Neutralized Hamas's Offensive Arsenal.
terrorists inside the tunnel were working with explosives, causing a massive blast that killed seven
Hamas operatives. The terrorists likely planned to use the explosives to carry out an attack against
Is China Another Bomb Waiting to Go Off?
By Jim Geraghty
When I run into Ambassador John Bolton in the Fox News green room -- which is increasingly frequently
-- I ask him, "Okay, what part of the world is keeping you up at night now?" Last time he answered with
a chuckle, "Oh, the usual . . . all of them."
We've watched chaos, violence, and tension in a long list of trouble spots lately: Iraq, Syria, Iran,
Afghanistan, Israel and its neighbors, North Korea, Nigeria, Mexico and our southern border . . .
It's easy to forget China in all that. But the news is ominous over there, too:
As Chinese and Vietnamese ships ram each other in the contested waters, and Chinese
and Japanese fighter jets play games of chicken in Asia's disputed skies, the risk of
military escalation is growing. Even more significantly, the standoff is generating bad
blood between Washington and Beijing and could torpedo cooperation on important
global issues, including the Middle East, climate change and nuclear proliferation . . .
"U.S.-China relations are worse than they have been since the normalization of
relations, and East Asia today is less stable than at any time since the end of the Cold
War," said Robert Ross, a political science professor at Boston College and associate of
Harvard's John King Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies.
Today is the official publication date for Act of War, the new novel from Brad Thor, a fearless
conservative and friend of Morning Jolt. I don't think I'm spoiling too much to say that Thor's latest
features the Chinese government up to no good . . . and surprisingly willing to make provocative and
dangerous decisions.
We're used to thinking of China as a rising superpower, with an increasingly advanced military and the
resources of a rapidly expanding economy and about a billion people. But Thor's book wonders aloud if
the conventional portrait of an increasingly strong and confident China is wrong. What if they're weaker
and have bigger problems than we can see? What if their leadership actually growing more fearful and
desperate?
For starters, China's invested heavily in Iraq . . . an investment that may go up in flames depending upon
how the fight with ISIS develops:
Beijing is Baghdad's biggest customer for oil exports, in part because Chinese firms were
willing to accept lower profit margins, play by the central government's rules, and
tolerate the security risks created by the country's political instability. Now, with Iraq on
the brink and militants threatening an invasion of Baghdad, China may have the most to
lose.
Chinese state-owned firms have invested a total of $10 billion in the country. The state-
owned energy giant, China National Petroleum Corporation, is the single largest foreign
investor in Iraq's oil sector. Iraq is China's fifth largest oil supplier. Between 10,000 and
15, 000 workers, in addition to the ones being rescued today, are still in the country.
China went through a similar lost investment and endangered workers in Libya in 2011. It is surpassing
us as the world's largest oil importer this year, and their largest oil fields are mature and prone to
1834
declining production. Oh, and there's also the big looming problem of "reduced ability to grow food in
China. About 20% of China's agricultural land is already polluted, rivers are drying up or being diverted
for industrial use, and these problems are only getting worse."
What happens when you add up a huge population, dwindling domestic resources, key foreign
investments going up in flames, volatile relationships with neighboring countries and a paranoid,
autocratic leadership that enjoys saber-rattling at the best of times? I don't know, but I fear we're about
to find out. Oh, and remember, we owe them $1.3 trillion or so.
Hollywood, Islam and Political Correctness documents how the media eschew demonizing Islamists.
Democrats have said since Iowa state Sen. Joni Ernst (R) first became the GOP Senate
front-runner that theyd be able to paint her as outside the mainstream, a clone of her
big-name backer, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R). Now theyre getting some traction
with that argument.
A day after Palin called for President Obamas impeachment, recordings surfaced of
Ernst saying she was open to the same during an early primary debate. Ernst disavowed
the comments and said that thered been no evidence the president should be
impeached. But not long after those comments, another interview surfaced from a few
weeks ago in which she said the decision should be Speaker John Boehners (R-Ohio)
and that she wasnt encouraging or discouraging it.
The comments by themselves arent likely to derail Ernsts campaign. But theyre a sign
that she may have had to run too hard to the right, and leave open the question about
whether the untested candidate might have said other things that will come back to
haunt her this fall in the battle against Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa), whos had gaffe
issues of his own.
SENATE SHOWDOWN
LA-SEN (LANDRIEU), AR-SEN (PRYOR): Americans for Prosperity launched two ads
targeting Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) and one targeting Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.)
Wednesday. The Louisiana ads slammed Landrieu on veteran healthcare and for touting
her role as chairwoman of the Energy Committee, arguing that Landrieus clouts not
working. In Arkansas, the group hit Pryor for making things harder for the 84,000
unemployed Arkansans and urged voters to tell Mark Pryor Arkansas families need
jobs, not bigger government.
NH-SEN (SHAHEEN): Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D) tops 50 percent support while Republican
Scott Brown remains stalled at 38 percent support among likely voters in a new WMUR
Granite State Poll of likely voters, conducted by the University of New Hampshire. The
survey shows her expanding her lead over all three of her potential Republican
opponents, and posting the highest favorability rating of every figure surveyed, with 57
percent of respondents viewing her favorably.
1835
WV-SEN (OPEN): Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) brought in $1.3 million in second-
quarter fundraising, about half a million more than her Democratic opponent, Natalie
Tennant, who raised $777,000. Capitos latest fundraising numbers put her with $5
million cash on hand compared with Tennants $2.4 million.
HI-SEN (SCHATZ): Sen. Brian Schatz released a new ad Tuesday, a positive spot touting
his role as the only freshman senator chairing two subcommittees. The ad features local
Hawaiians praising Schatz showing the kind of leadership Hawaii needs and will run
statewide for a week on broadcast and cable.
AK-SEN (BEGICH): Republican candidate Dan Sullivan debuted a new ad Tuesday
pushing back against Democratic attacks on a controversial land proposal addressed
while he was state Natural Resources commissioner that Democrats have suggested
hurt hunters in the state. Sullivans spot features a hunters rights advocate who says
she trusts Sullivan because he has stood up for hunters and our Second Amendment."
CO-SEN (UDALL): Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) canceled his plans to appear alongside
President Obama in Denver on Wednesday evening, saying that he needed to stay in
Washington for important last-minute votes. Republicans have seized Udalls
cancellation as an opportunity to argue that Obamas dipping approval rating in many
states is a liability to Democratic Senate incumbents.
GA-SEN (OPEN): Democratic candidate Michelle Nunn called on her Republican
opponents, David Perdue and Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), to refuse third-party ads in the
general election and to limit how much outside groups can spend in the race. If we can
join together and pledge to limit outside spending and third party ads, we can together
show that the people of our state are tired of politics as usual, Nunn urged the GOP
candidates in an open letter Wednesday. Thatd be a big boost to Nunn, who has a huge
warchest; it's unlikely to be agreed to by either of her opponents.
KY-SEN (MCCONNELL): Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) accepted the
invitation to participate in the Kentucky Farm Bureaus candidate forum in late August,
urging his opponent, Alison Lundergan Grimes (D), to do the same. McConnells
campaign also debuted a new ad Wednesday, hitting Grimes for her laughable attack
ad that criticized the senator on Medicare. McConnells spot charges that the Grimes ad
mischaracterized McConnells voting record on Medicare and suggests that Obama and
Grimes will pay for Obamacare on the backs of Kentucky seniors.
MI-SEN (OPEN): Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land (R) bested Rep. Gary Peters
(D-Mich.) in second-quarter fundraising. Land raked in more than $3.35 million in the
latest quarter, including a $1.2 million loan thats part of the $5 million shes said shell
self-fund, leaving her with more than $5.25 milloin cash on hand at the end of June.
Peters raised nearly $2 million this quarter, but did not announce how much cash the
campaign has on hand.
AR-SEN (PRYOR): A new survey out from Impact Management, an Arkansas-based GOP
firm, finds Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) leading Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) by 47 to 43
percent of the vote, with 10 percent undecided.
MS-SEN (COCHRAN): In an op-ed published in the Clarion-Ledger, conservative
commentator Ann Coulter defended Sen. Thad Cochrans (R-Miss.) primary win over
Chris McDaniel and criticized his supporters for pushing him to contest the results,
warning they could ruin his political future in Mississippi.
ME-SEN (COLLINS): Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) raised just over $900,000 in the second
quarter, leaving the senator with more than $4 million cash on hand at the end of June.
1836
BATTLE FOR THE HOUSE
MN-8 (NOLAN): Republican candidate Stewart Mills is out with an attack ad slamming
Rep. Rick Nolan (D-Minn.) on gun rights. Mills accuses Nolan of only putting on his
hunting greens around election time while voting repeatedly in Washington to take
away Second Amendment rights.
MI-3 (AMASH): The Club for Growth plans to hit Republican Brian Ellis, who is
challenging Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) in the August GOP primary, with another round
of television and radio ads. Federal Election Commission reports show the group
spending $180,000 on the ads, bringing the groups total spending on the race to
$375,000.
NH-1 (SHEA-PORTER), NH-2 (KUSTER): A new poll out Tuesday shows former Rep. Frank
Guinta (R-N.H.) and Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-N.H.) in close competition for the 1st
District seat, Guinta slightly leading Shea-Porter by 46 to 43 percent. The survey,
conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, also shows Rep. Ann
McLane Kuster (D-N.H.) leading both of her potential Republican competitors, topping
Gary Lambert by 9 percentage points and Marilinda Garcia by 14 percentage points.
FL-2 (SOUTHERLAND): Rep. Steve Southerlands Democratic challenger, Gwen
Graham, raised $563,000 in the second quarter, leaving her with $1.57 cash on hand.
Southerland, who ended the first quarter of fundraising with $1.18 million in the bank
and has the ability to self-fund, has not yet released his second-quarter numbers.
AZ-9 (SINEMA): Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) raised just over $580,000 in second-
quarter fundraising. The sum brings her campaign to $1.59 million cash on hand at the
end of June and $2.45 total funds raised, the most of any congressional campaign in the
state this cycle.
NJ-2 (LOBIONDO): Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-N.J.) raised $411,281 in second-quarter
fundraising, according to his campaigns announcement Wednesday, leaving him with
more than $1.5 million cash on hand. LoBiondos campaign is using some of this cash to
launch a new campaign website, coupled with a voter outreach program and a social
media effort.
AZ-2 (BARBER): Rep. Ron Barbers (D-Ariz.) Republican challenger, Martha McSally, has
reserved television time in the Tucson media market for the final weeks of the
congressional race, Roll Call reports. In addition to McSallys $460,000 buy, the House
Majority PAC has increased its television reservations in the district from a $140,000 to a
$440,000 buy in anticipation of Barber and McSallys 2012 rematch.
2016 WATCH
CHRISTIE: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will travel to New Hampshire for the
second time in two months, as he is set to headline a Republican fundraiser on July 31.
The trip to the Granite State seems to suggest to many that the governor is still
considering a bid for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
The dinosaurs died, and we dont know why, but the world just adjusted. And to say
that this is whats going to cause detriment to people, I just dont think its out there.
Kentucky state Rep. Kevin Sinnette (D) criticizing the science behind climate change
During the past few hours, additional info has been acquired that supports prior conclusions, supporting
the view that it is not necessary to continue to reinvent the wheel regarding conclusions that have
been beaten to death *such as the dangers inherent in both ObamaDontCare and Common Core+;
therefore, it is hoped that enhanced focus will allow Shakespeares aphorism to become dominant
*brevity is the soul of wit+. As a result, this Blast e-mail is long on self-explanatory headlines on
myriad topics that are often unnerving *that often prove to be numbing+, and short on fresh editorial-
comment *such as an update on Personal Priorities+. The structure thereof is intended to depict the
current status of myriad concerns, encompassing those that have been rectified as personal priorities
and those that remain challenges in the wake of BHOs dangerous ways and unfortunate
achievements. Of course, everyone who reads of these plans is invited to partake, to critique, or
otherwise to engage; also, watch Dinesh DSouza explain why BHO/Hillary are radical-lefties.
Personal Priorities
Regarding passage of the [delayed] Mandate to teach students about the Holocaust in PA, The Jewish
Chronicle just published an essay *Simplest most important lesson of the Holocaust is missing+ that
captures the essence of what transpired; I just submitted a [six-part] letter-to-the-editor that elaborates
on its themes, based upon the experience of myself [and Rhonda Fink-Whitman and Chuck Feldman]
when advocating for a bill with teeth. That we had to contend aggressively with lobbyists representing
the Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition has not been forgotten, and I will attempt to educate all clients of
Mr. Hank Butler [in my spare-time] of the deceit evinced by this lobbyist during the past -year.
Candidly, I anticipate I will absent myself from implementation efforts, only ensuring that the process
encompasses my two colleagues, for their being at-the-table [and/or their designees] will ensure that
no one hijacks this effort to pursue a disparate agenda *e.g., Israel is an Apartheid State because of
its oppression of Palestinian Arabs would be excluded, whereas the slaughter of Christians by Islamists
would become a prominent portion of this Unit (Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Violations)+.
A FEW WORDS FROM THE VISIONARY STEVEN WRIGHT and Steven Wright Brainy Quotes
Regarding the effort to create a chapter of Log Cabin Republicans encompassing PA, it is anticipated
that the input of Rep. Mike Vereb will provide guidance as to how best to jump-start this initiative in
MontCo so as to accommodate all Pennsylvanians, and anyone who wishes to be included beneath this
enlarged tent [you need not be LGBTQ, for Im simply a supporter] is cordially invited to contact us
[me] so that we can strategize together. We seek an influx of potential-members, and their locales
may end-up determining how the initial structure is formulated [chapters and/or sub-chapters]. {Also,
note that Gay Republican Carl DeMaio is Spending $1.2 Million on TV Time to Unseat San Diego
Democrat, freshman Rep. Scott Peters, in California's 52
nd
Congressional District.}
Regarding Corbetts re-election effort, Im thrilled the battle has been joined, as I noted on the
PoliticsPA website; one can monitor headlines @ the Keystone Report website for updates on the
reaction to the course chosen regarding the budget [consistent with my expressed-desire to Rep. Vereb,
who sports a leadership role within the House-GOP caucus]; the onslaught has begun [GRAND OLD
INTRAPARTY WARRING; Corbett, GOP leaders at odds on pensions, line-item vetoes; LEGISLATORS NOT
1838
RUSHING BACK TO HARRISBURG DESPITE CORBETT'S REQUEST; Corbett vetoes set stage for showdown;
Scarnati's chief: 'ball is in the House's court'; Turzai last week: 'I invite Governor Corbett to get us the
remaining votes because he has the capital as governor to get it done'; TURZAI CALLS ON CORBETT TO
TAKE ON PENSION REFORM, LIQUOR STORE PRIVATIZATION; Turzai: Gov has NOT used his 'bully pulpit'
to get pension reformn votes; Senate GOP leaders: 'We are disappointed that the Governor has not, to
date, been able to work effectively with the Republican majorities; Corbett said some lawmakers hold
grudge for investigations as Atty. Gen.; Will PA legislators return to work on pension reform?; Rep. Brad
Roae (R), welcoming special session: veto 'a good first step'; Gov. Corbett's budget standoff illustrates
GOP divide in PA politics; Corbett still pressing for pension reform [Corbett robocalls in SEPA urge
constituents to contact their lawmakers in support of pension reform, including a blast e-mail received
from his campaign]; Spokesman: Corbett vetoed parking, not Harrisburg recovery; and Wolf peppered
with questions concerning how he would have addressed state budget woes] and the reaction thereto
has been intense [DID CORBETT BACK HIMSELF INTO A 'NO-WIN SITUATION'? and Corbett's last stand].
The rejoinders to each of these petulant reactions are obvious; for example, it is curious that his alleged
inability to work with the General Assembly is being voiced for the first time by Republicans after feeling
acutely rebuffed; yet, it is clear that the gravity of the problem warrants its being confronted
aggressively, affirmatively, ASAP, for some feel the effects of the Pension-Bomb are already being
detonated both statewide and locally.
Politics-Pa addressed ups-and-downs by castigating Corbett for what he did, and
included was a photo-reminder of the type of messaging that could prove effective in
motivating his base prior to November; he may be threatening to run against a
legislature [prominently using his middle-finger in the process, if necessary] which is
public-union-controlled [all Dems are owned and some Republicans are rented]:
Thus, in response to the libs who reflexly attacked [and belittled] him, I simply wrote:
He did precisely what was necessary, namely, he provided the on-time budget while
communicating the urgency of the need to defuse the Pension Bomb by depriving the
legislators of their anticipated perks. *Has anyone ever previously seen a photo of
Corbett sporting this shit-eating grin, this sly defiance, this cat-ate-the-canary calm, this
Ive-got-nothing-to-lose sense-of-abandon, this Im-the-governor-and-youre-not focus,
this Im-finally-comfortable-in-my-skin surcease?] As Guzzardi would say, this is HUGE!!!
Also noted are more reminders of the ongoing Sandusky affair [Freeh to judge: clarify Spanier lawsuit
rules and PSU trustee wants new Sandusky probe and Group moving forward with plans for Paterno
statue] which I still feel should be resolved after Corbett holds an endless press conference regarding
how he addressed the need to imprison a child molester [comparable to that of NJ-Gov. Chris Christie
regarding BridgeGate+; specifically, I do not know *having read everything+ why only three people
worked part-time in 2010, delaying until 2011 the initiation of a comprehensive set of interviews of all
1839
participants in the Second Mile program. [I also have other problems with the public narrative, such as
why Mike McQuery and Cynthia Baldwin appear to have been given passes by all the key-players.+
Penn-State Alums/Employees represent a definable/defiant constituency that must be recruited.
Regarding ongoing employment by Temple University of Alessio Lerro, despite his apparently being a
Holocaust-denier, initiatives have been initiated on multiple-fronts but, of course, suggestions are
always solicited; I will dutifully report outcome measures when they emerge. We are quite-aware of the
more generic concerns that are triggered [regarding anti-Zionism, most prominently], but our focus is
trained on his simply not now appearing to be an academically-reliable educational-resource [regardless
of his pedagogical discipline, and notwithstanding how his innermost thoughts emerged publicly].
Regarding an increasingly successful effort to prompt the USA to support the interests of Kurdistan
[although the worldexcept Israelappears to have stopped-short rather than endorsing a plebiscite
to be held within a month regarding its becoming recognized as an independent entity]; indeed, rather
than arming Syrian rebels *of dubious lineage and ideology+, it is preferable to promote Kurds, who
have already demonstrated long-term fealty to Western Values [and have eschewed Islamism].
BHOs Dangerous Antics
BHOs anti-colonialism eschews boundaries, and it should be recalled that this is the first major effort of
parenting; kids must learn to respect definable limits that historically have resulted from respecting the
rights of others. This is being manifest both in Syria/Iraq [with creation of the Islamic State] and on the
USA/Mexican border *which Dinesh DSouza notes (in America) could satisfy the dream of many
progressives by creating Aztlan+; it is c/w BHOs overall focus on one-world government via the UN.
Naturally, this explains why his sense of patriotism is problematic, for he necessarily blurs the limits of
his purview beyond the 50-states; thus does he implement policies to undermine the Founders/Framers.
Obama, Translated
[Jonah Goldberg Blast e-mail excerpt]
I think Ive stumbled onto a handy heuristic or, if that word makes
you want to smash my guitar on the Delta House wall, rule of thumb
for listening to Obama. Whenever he talks about himself, immediately
flip it around so hes saying the opposite. Think about it. Im not
interested in photo-ops. Boom. Translation: I think photo-ops are
really, really important. And thats why Im not going to have my picture
taken with a bunch kids at the border.
1840
Now, sometimes, a literal reversal of meaning doesnt work. But the key
is to look at any statement he offers about others as an insight into his
own mental state.
When Obama denounces cynicism, hes actually being cynical. What
hes doing is expressing his frustration with people who are justifiably
cynical about him. Why cant you people fall for what I am saying!?
When he says he doesnt care about politics, just problem-solving,
what hes really saying is he wants his political agenda to go
unchallenged by other political agendas.
And as I wrote about at great length here whenever he says
ideology and ideologues are a problem, what hes actually saying is that
competing ideologues and ideologies are the problem. That is, unless,
youre the sort of person who actually thinks Obama isnt an ideologue,
which is just adorable.
Its not so much that hes lying. Though if he were a Game of Thrones
character, Obama the Deceiver, First of His Name would be a pretty
apt formal title. No, hes projecting. Its an ego thing. I am fond of
pointing out Obamas insufficiently famous confession, I actually
believe my own bullsh*t. What I like about it is thats its like a verbal
Escher drawing. He believes his own b.s. but by calling it b.s. he
acknowledges its not believable. Its like sarcastically insisting that
youre being serious. Its earnest irony or ironic earnestness. If you take
the statement too seriously, you could end up like android #1 in I,
Mudd.
I dont take psychoanalysis, too seriously (If you did, what would
happen to me? The Couch). But I think Obamas penchant for
deriding his opponents as cynics and opportunists stems from the fact
that he sees the world through precisely those sorts of prisms. But he
tells himself hes different because he does it for good purposes and
besides, hes so awesome his b.s. is true. No one knows if God can make
a rock so heavy He cant lift it, but Obama can sling such exquisite b.s.
even he can believe. And because he believes it, he cant tolerate the
idea that others dont.
Josh Earnest: 'Real Leadership' Is Fixing Problems, Not Just 'Photo-Ops' [From Jonah
Goldberg discussing BHO: Speaking of earnestness and deceit, am I the only one to find
the White House press secretarys name mildly amusing? Josh Earnest? To josh means
to playfully kid with someone, Im just joshing ya! Earnest means to be overly sincere
and deadpan serious. The official voice of the White House is living up to both the verb
and the adjective; hes saying humorously unbelievable things in an overly serious way.
Hes a poor mans Steven Wright. Or maybe Im overthinking things again. As Steven
Wright himself said, a conclusion is just the place where you get tired of thinking.+
The Constitution provides the remedy for a president who commits high crimes and misdemeanors.
Its impeachment. To be clear, high crimes and misdemeanors are not necessarily ordinary criminal
offenses. Our Framers used the term to signify a dereliction of duty, and the first duty of the president is
to enforce our laws and preserve, protect, and defend our Constitution. No serious person who is paying
disregarded the Constitution. Let me count the ways.
Regarding Islamism :
GOV. RICK PERRY op-ed in today's WashPost - Print headline, "Why Rand Paul is wrong
about Iraq" -- Online headline, "Isolationist policies make the threat of terrorism even
greater" - "As a veteran, and as a governor who has supported Texas National Guard
deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I can understand the emotions behind
isolationism. Many people are tired of war, and the urge to pull back is a natural, human
reaction. Unfortunately, we live in a world where isolationist policies would only
endanger our national security even further. That's why it's disheartening to hear fellow
Republicans, such as Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), suggest that our nation should ignore what's
happening in Iraq. ...
"Ignoring the growth of the Islamic State and events in Syria and Iraq will only ensure
that the problem will fester and grow. ... Paul is an articulate advocate for his views,
which are shared by many on the left and some on the right. But in today's world, with
today's threats, we still cannot 'take blind shelter across the sea, rushing to respond
only after freedom is lost.' That was President Reagan's warning. Sen. Paul would be
wise to heed it."
A comment from a Lib:
It is not that I am close-minded about this. But, you are asking me to throw out decades of thinking and
suggesting I adopt a theoretical framework which requires that I trust that conservative politicians, who
are running on a platform of limited government and decreased taxes, wont extend this very same
mentality to state-level politics. And that doesnt even address what their priorities and policies would
be. Their views and approach to issues are not in lockstep with your own. Just because I can find
common ground with you does not mean I can with them. Further, the dollars and cents from stopping
what you consider corporate welfare and addressing pension issues just dont seem to add up to enough
money to supplant federal support. Here, perhaps, I am wrong.
You say this is all about facts; but, really, it also is a matter of trust the fact that you lack any in
Obama. So to say that feelings (i.e., trust) are irrelevant is just not right. You can say that your lack of
trust is based on behavior and that mine is simply based on attitudinal issues which you find secondary.
However, if your political allies think government federal and state should not be in the business of
sustaining what you call a nanny state (a term with which I disagree), how can I be confident that any
type of social support will be retained? You say just vote the guy out if I dont like their politics but,
you were unable to do that with Obama. It is not so simple. Dismantling years of federal programs
would require a very slow approach to policy change to avoid this type of disruption. Are you ready to
push your candidates to take things slowly? Immediately pushing back to pre-Obama federal funding
levels does not seem gradual if the states dont have the wherewithal to fill in the gaps.
Policies-Media-Bias
In quick-succession after your receipt of the last Blast e-mail is an articulation of the key-points
therein, followed by self-evident proof of profound [print] media bias that is as subtle as it is malicious;
as per prior analysis, piling-on of additional documentation of already-established points is minimized
[once a well-referenced policy statement has been articulated]. The major exception will be when it is
felt to be desirable to expose hypocrisy, such as when the GOP-Establishment [such as McCain] claims it
is desirable to endorse what BHO is doing [now, with regard to the border-crisis] instead of adhering to
fundamental GOP policies *we are a nation of laws+. If anyone disagrees with concluding there are
major-league dangers inherent in both ObamaDontCare and Common Core, please so-advise; if anyone
wishes to move the marble forward regarding the Personal Priorities *each of which carries broader
significance and applicability], please feel free to reformulate and to provide additional direction.
Personal Priorities [plus import]
Regarding passage of the [delayed] Mandate to teach students about the Holocaust in PA, I will try to
educate all clients of Mr. Hank Butler of the deceit evinced by this lobbyist during the past -year
and I will try to ensure that the process of curriculum-development encompasses my two colleagues
[Chuck Feldman and Rhonda Fink-Whitman]. Regarding the latter, the goal will be to ensure the focus is
trained on how to trace the myriad forces that culminated in the Shoah [with some replicated
beforehand (Armenia) and afterwards (Islamists)+, always honoring the focus of this Unit (Holocaust,
Genocide, and Human Rights Violations). Regarding the former, proof of the travail we overcame c/o
Mr. Butler may be noted [reading upwards] to discern, for example, how he misrepresented truth in his
all-Senator letter; I distilled his six key-points in a disinterested fashion and then demolished them. Most
people would drop such an initiative because we won, you lost, but others should be protected from
experiencing this type of unctuous deceit when tempted to interact with this unadorned lobbyist;
essentially, if one component of allegedly-corrupt Harrisburg can be IDed and discredited *here, Butler+,
then this may be perceived as a contribution to the cause of profound governmental reform.
Regarding ongoing employment by Temple University of Adjunct-Prof Alessio Lerro,
despite his apparently being a Holocaust-denier, multiple initiatives were initiated; he is
now not an academically-reliable educational-resource [regardless of his pedagogical
discipline, and notwithstanding by what path his innermost thoughts emerged publicly].
The effort to create a chapter of Log Cabin Republicans encompassing PA *to be enhanced following
receipt of input of Rep. Mike Vereb, MCRC-Chair] must be perceived as becoming a permanent fixture in
the GOP, ultimately @ all levels; it is this approach that would convey [to those fixated on social-issues]
that the GOP can be trusted with the power to undo BHOs evil. In the process, the Establishment-GOP
will need to accede to the will of its increasingly-unrepressible populist-wing [indubitably inspired by the
TEA Party Movement+; fusing Libertarian and Conservative Constitutional viewpoints will convey a
libertarian, not libertine philosophy that endorses same-sex marriage, liberal approaches to pot-
legalization, and adherence to Rowe v. Wade. For example, Colorado hasnt gone to pot for, even if
THC is in the blood of auto-accident victims, pot has not been shown to have been their cause. Thus,
neutralizing this source of lib-worriment will be facilitated if anyone who wishes to be included beneath
this enlarged tent [you need not be LGBTQ, for Im simply a supporter] is cordially invited to
contact us [me] so that we can strategize together. In the process, government is evicted from all
rooms of the individual-citizens private-dwelling *undermining BHOs intrusion into all of them+.
Introducing his weekly GPS-CNN show, Fareed Zakaria said BHO caved to conventional
wisdom on Syria by allegedly attempting to support [belatedly] some rebel groups;
through it all, he expressed skepticism as to how to vet them *ensuring $ didnt flow
to Islamists+ and ended with a dismissive Good Luck. Yet, ignored were both BHOs
prior support for rebels [some of whom are now ISIS-devotees] and the ability to
support creation of Kurdistan, which would reliably accomplish this goal, for Kurds have
already shown long-term fealty to Western Values [and have eschewed Islamism]; that
Maliki is accusing them of supporting ISIS is more of an indication of his enhanced
alienation from BHOs flawed implementation of American interests than of any effort
to promote truth-telling. Indeed, no greater indication of Zakarias intent to promote a
Post-American World is his claim that the Iraqis lost Iraq, with an assist from George
W. Bush [absolving BHO of responsibility for prematurely withdrawing troops ignoring,
for example, that war-weary Americans had defended South Korea -decade hence.
Corbetts re-election effort will be enhanced both by tying Wolf to BHOs policies and by standing-firm;
also, Corbett should hold an endless press conference regarding [1]how he addressed the need to
imprison a child molester [why only three people worked part-time in 2010, delaying until 2011 the
initiation of a comprehensive set of interviews of all participants in the Second Mile program]; and [2]
why he felt it necessary to fire JoePa precipitously [absent even the most rudimentary of investigations].
This photo-reminder of messaging that could motivate his base prior to November depicts his
threat to run against a legislature [prominently using his middle-finger in the process, if necessary]
which is public-union-controlled [all Dems are owned and some Republicans are rented].
[Illustrating how Corbett could posture himself as opposing a legislature partially-controlled by (union)
special-interests is the prospect of noting, after the shocking revelation that four state lawmakers were
videotaped taking cash from an undercover informant, the Legislature has not adopted a strict gift ban.]
Indeed, he did what was necessary, providing the on-time budget while communicating the urgency of
the urgent need to defuse the Pension Bomb by depriving the legislators of their anticipated perks.
[Never before have I seen a photo of Corbett sporting this shit-eating grin, this sly defiance, this cat-ate-
the-canary calm, this Ive-got-nothing-to-lose sense-of-abandon, this Im-the-governor-and-youre-not
focus, this Im-finally-comfortable-in-my-skin surcease, this Im-in-the-groove happiness]. This is HUGE!!!
My response to the claim that this action constituted Corbetts Last Stand was simply to remind the
pundits of a key-parallel between Corbett and BHO *functioning as CEOs of gigantic corporations+:
The argument that the public doesnt care about pension-reform recalls the rationalization that America
is war-weary, so we should permit the creation of an Islamic Caliphate to go unchallenged; in both
instances, a leader is called-upon to explain the issues to the people and to risk defeatbut not without a
fightfor the Commonweal. Predictably, the race will tighten as Wolf is peppered with questions
concerning how he would address state budget woes and about Gov. Tom Corbett and Lt. Gov. Jim
Cawleys new electronic ad campaign hammering Wolf on what the Republican campaign claims is his
lack of enthusiasm on addressing pension reform.
BHOs Dangerous Antics
After channel-surfing the Sunday-a.m. news-talk shows, it remains clear that [as written earlier today]
BHOs anti-colonialism eschews boundaries, and it should be recalled that this is the first major task of
parenting; kids must learn to respect definable limits that historically have resulted from respecting the
rights of others. This is being manifest both in Syria/Iraq [with creation of the Islamic State] and on the
USA/Mexican border *which Dinesh DSouza notes (in America) could satisfy the dream of many
progressives by creating Aztlan+; it is c/w BHOs overall focus on one-world government via the UN.
Naturally, this explains why his sense of patriotism is problematic, for he necessarily blurs the limits of
his purview beyond the 50-states; thus does he implement policies to undermine the Founders/Framers.
Regarding Illegals, it is hoped the electorate will finally recognize that the Dems and the
squishy-Rs [viewed as an establishment that eschews the TEA Party Movement,
Wall St. and K St. over Main St.] are acting out of self-interest and bucking populism
when the groundswell of Independents hungers for a reliable advocate. Note the
A Benghazi Timeline has been constructed from the military perspective; it allows for questions to be
focused on the absence of any military response having been issued by BHO [directly or indirectly].
Shortly after midnight in Libya [6 p.m. in D.C., an hour after Panetta had told BHO of initial alerts] and
BHO had allegedly ordered that all military assets should be used to save these American personnel, a
1853
six-man U.S. security team, including two Special Forces members, took-off from Tripoli on a chartered
flight to Benghazi to go to the hospital to find Stevens. Senior defense officials made plans to deploy
military teams from Spain, Croatia and the United States. But it would take hours for them to prepare,
take-off and get to Libya; in the end, only the anti-terror team from Spain would arrive in Tripoli, albeit
after the Americans had been evacuated. [Also, at 11: 10 p.m., the military diverted an unarmed drone
from elsewhere in Libya to Benghazi, but its indistinct nighttime video allegedly wasn't much help.] Also,
@ 11:30 p.m.-1 a.m., when the secret CIA site also came under sporadic fire from small arms fire and
rocket-propelled grenades, key military leaders didn't even know the CIA facility was under assault.
Obvious questions arise as to what assets may have been told to stand-down and by whom and when;
where BHO was during these six-hours; what the drone video had revealed [initially/subsequently]; and
how BHO/Hillary could credibly claim the use of RPGs could have stemmed solely from a video-protest.
Initially, it was reported by the media the Benghazi attack was a spontaneous protest
triggered by an anti-Muslim video, Innocence of Muslims. Subsequent investigations
determined that there was no such protest and that the attacks were premeditated. Yet,
Carney said We were not aware of any actionable intelligence indicating that an attack
on the U.S. mission in Benghazi was planned or imminent on 9/14/2012and never
attempted to correct this absolutist statement [not even allowing for anything planned].
Based on a timeline compiled by factcheck.org, Obama and administration officials misled the public
when they initially claimed the deadly Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. outposts in Benghazi [that killed four
U.S. diplomats, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens] began spontaneously in response to
an anti-Muslim video. The question surfaced again on Oct. 25more than six weeks after the incident
when government emails showed the White House and the State Department were told even as the
attack was going on that Ansar al-Sharia, a little-known militant group, had claimed credit for it. Obama
and others in the administration were quick to cite the anti-Muslim video as the underlying cause for the
attack. They were slow to acknowledge it was a premeditated terrorist attack; they downplayed reports
that it might have been. There were no protesters at the Benghazi consulate prior to the attack, even
though Obama and others repeatedly said the attackers joined an angry mob that had formed in
opposition to the anti-Muslim film that had triggered protests in Egypt and elsewhere.
Other Domestic Concerns
Regarding two major scandals [one against the GOP-Establishment and one against BHO], TRUE THE
VOTE SUMMARIZED WHAT HAS OCCURRED THIS PAST WEEK:
The Latest from Mississippi
True the Votes litigation against the State of Mississippi and the Republican Party
expanded this week after the lawsuit was relocated to the United States District Court
for the Southern District of Mississippi, Jackson Division. An additional eight Mississippi
resident plaintiffs were added while nine counties (Copiah, Hinds, Jefferson Davis,
Lauderdale, Leake, Madison, Rankin, Simpson and Yazoo) were named new defendants.
Shortly thereafter, True the Vote filed a Temporary Restraining Order against the
defendants after evidence of tampering and ballot destruction began to surface.
On the morning of July 11, District Judge Henry T. Wingate told our attorneys during a
conference that he was inclined to recuse himself from the case as he was appointed to
the bench on the recommendation of Sen. Thad Cochran. True the Vote did not object
on the matter and expects the Court to assign another judge soon.
Click here to read more about the refiled lawsuit.
Click here to read more about the Temporary Restraining Order.
Breaking News on the IRS Front
True the Vote today was in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia for a hearing
requesting that evidence discovery begin immediately, to include using forensic
investigators inside IRS email servers. After nearly an hour-long session, Judge Reggie B.
Walton announced that he would formally order the immediate gathering of documents
and affidavits surrounding the reported computer server crashes from the IRS. The
Court is expected to issue a ruling on TTVs specific requests for forensic audit late next
week. As always, True the Vote will keep you posted as new details are available.
Regarding the GOPs competitors for POTUS-16, two are attempting to work-against-
type [Christie blames Obama in part for Mideast unrest and Rand Paul has proposed the
Stand With Israel Act+ recalling prior problems with Zionists, and Perry is being
portrayed as having the potential to benefit from the problems presented the Illegals.
The reader is invited to discern whether the aforementioned will affect the thinking of this Lib:
1855
It is not that I am close-minded about this. But, you are asking me to throw out decades
of thinking and suggesting I adopt a theoretical framework which requires that I trust
that conservative politicians, who are running on a platform of limited government and
decreased taxes, wont extend this very same mentality to state-level politics. And that
doesnt even address what their priorities and policies would be. Their views and
approach to issues are not in lockstep with your own. Just because I can find common
ground with you does not mean I can with them. Further, the dollars and cents from
stopping what you consider corporate welfare and addressing pension issues just dont
seem to add up to enough money to supplant federal support. Here, perhaps, I am
wrong.
You say this is all about facts; but, really, it also is a matter of trust the fact that you
lack any in Obama. So to say that feelings (i.e., trust) are irrelevant is just not right. You
can say that your lack of trust is based on behavior and that mine is simply based on
attitudinal issues which you find secondary. However, if your political allies think
government federal and state should not be in the business of sustaining what you
call a nanny state (a term with which I disagree), how can I be confident that any type
of social support will be retained? You say just vote the guy out if I dont like their
politics but, you were unable to do that with Obama. It is not so simple. Dismantling
years of federal programs would require a very slow approach to policy change to avoid
this type of disruption. Are you ready to push your candidates to take things slowly?
Immediately pushing back to pre-Obama federal funding levels does not seem gradual if
the states dont have the wherewithal to fill in the gaps.
,My initial response would be that immediate defunding of ObamaDontCare would
yield at least a trillion dollars; returning to a budget approximating what existed in 2008
would occur concomitantly, and other facets of governmental disengagement [e.g., the
Department of Education] could be initiated without major risk of enhancing the need
for states to fulfill functions otherwise not being pursued. Certainly, GOP overreach
would be subject to being rewarded during the next election-cycle, presumably giving
its leaders sufficient motivation to tread softly as they return America to its moorings.}
Many Turkish Gulen Charter Schools are in Ohio; it should be noted he resides in the Poconos and is
Foreign Affairs
Regarding the need to fight Islamism, it is appropriate to reprint GOV. RICK PERRYs op-ed in the WaPo
[Print headline, "Why Rand Paul is wrong about Iraq" -- Online headline, "Isolationist policies make the
threat of terrorism even greater"]: "As a veteran, and as a governor who has supported Texas National
Guard deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I can understand the emotions behind isolationism. Many
people are tired of war, and the urge to pull back is a natural, human reaction. Unfortunately, we live in
a world where isolationist policies would only endanger our national security even further. That's why
it's disheartening to hear fellow Republicans, such as Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), suggest that our nation
should ignore what's happening in Iraq. But ignoring the growth of the Islamic State and events in Syria
and Iraq will only ensure that the problem will fester and grow. [Rand] Paul is an articulate advocate for
his views, which are shared by many on the left and some on the right. But in today's world, with today's
1856
threats, we still cannot 'take blind shelter across the sea, rushing to respond only after freedom is lost.'
That was President Reagan's warning. Sen. Paul would be wise to heed it."
Illustrating profound media-bias is a piece in Time Magazine *going-to-extremes+ which called-out only
one number *550 as the number of sites Israel said it attacked in the first two days of its offensive.
Palestinian officials said at least 50 people were killed.+; in the text, alongside this figure, was the fact
that Hamas had launched 165 rockets and, omitted of course, was reference to the ongoing barrage that
had been occurring since Hamas had assumed control over Gaza, a half-decade-plus ago. Far more
problematic is the equal use of the word extremes to equate the Palestinian Arabs in-control of Gaza
with the posture of the Israeli government, notwithstanding the fact that the text [1]confirmed the
fact that Hamas was extremist, whereas *2+BB had cited pressure from a member of his cabinet
*Foreign Min. Avigdor Lieberman+ who ended his hard-right partys alliance with Netanyahus Likud.
Predictably, however, there have been Clashes in Paris as thousands marched against
Israel offensive, Chaos at synagogues, Anti-Israel protesters trapping hundreds in Paris
as rally in support of Gaza turned violent], and Jews hospitalized. Such is the state of
French anti-Semitism.
have received national attention [The Trump Plaza Hotel in Atlantic City could shut its doors in
to see, here.-
Much of the focus is upon how the GOP can position itself for the Fall Campaign, both within PA and
nationally; in that regard, reassuring info that can becalm the social-issues is noted [GOP govs say there
has been Scant Hobby Lobby political fallout]. Additional attention is upon selected domestic-concerns,
such as Common Core [Governors Group Skirted 'Radioactive' Common Core and The New AP US History
Exam is based on a poorly organized and biased framework that presents a consistently negative view of
American history that is not aligned with legally-mandated state curriculum standards] and other
educational issues, at least one of which is a shocker {The American Federation of Teachers called for
Arne Duncans resignation if he doesn't: [1]enact the funding and equity recommendations of the
Equity Commissions Each and Every Child report; [2]change the No Child Left Behind and Race To
The Top test-and-punish accountability system to a support-and-improve model; and [3]promote
rather than question teachers and school staff.} The goal here, recalling the two-graph lamentation of
the Lib [cited in the prior two Blast e-mails, with my initial reaction appended to the second iteration]
is to answer the question: Can this Lib be saved?
Two Judges Ordered IRS to Explain Lost Emails, so something substantive should emerge
within a month; meanwhile, some say The Real Story of the IRS Scandal is that the
media focus should be on BHOs behavior, not on Republicans reaction thereto. {Also,
note that the IRS will no longer screen 80% of organizations seeking tax-exempt status
each year, easing creation of small charities while raising fears of fraud; it seems the
agency looks to get past a scandal over the targeting of conservative political groups.
Much debate regarding the GOPs positioning *particularly regarding POTUS-16+ is upon foreign-policy,
noting the back-and-forth between Rand Paul [Rick Perry is dead wrong because he seems comfortable
repeating the mistakes of U.S. foreign policy] and others, such as McCain [Paul's 'fortress America'
comes at 'heavy price,' for Paul's isolationist foreign policy could threaten global stability]; as a result,
a Rand Paul Adviser Blasted Rick Perry for 'Mischaracterization' of Foreign Policy Views, disseminating
this view in mainstream and left-wing outlets. Overall, some would use this concern to differentiate
freedom and liberty conservatives *Im not convinced+; complicating matters were subsequent
1859
efforts by a Neo-Con to explain why Not All Liberty Conservatives Are Jew-Baiting Paleocons, citing
numerous contemporary pieces to conclude anti-Semites such as Pat Buchanan are alive-and-well within
the GOP. {Also note Paul Met Privately with Mark Zuckerberg.}
The GOPs Civil-War rages, as per a recent e-mail from the Senate Conservatives Fund,
Cantor's defeat has the Washington establishment concerned the grassroots could rise
up and defeat them too. Nobody is more worried about this than U.S. Senator Pat
Roberts (R-KS) who has been in Washington now for 47 years and faces a strong
conservative challenger in the August 5
th
Republican primary. "I might be next," a deadly
serious Roberts told another senator during a ride on the Senate subway. "You never
know." Pat Roberts knows that if voters in Kansas find out the truth about his record,
he will be the next liberal Republican to lose a primary.
Pat Roberts has voted to raise the debt limit 11 times, to increase taxes
on 80% of Americans, and to spend taxpayer dollars on wasteful
earmarks like the Bridge the Nowhere.
Pat Roberts also gave campaign money to Thad Cochran to help him pay
for his disgraceful race-baiting campaign in Mississippi, which
encouraged Democrats to hijack the Republican primary.
And, of course, Pat Roberts doesn't live in Kansas and only goes there
when he has to. Last week, he said, "Every time I get an opponent, uh, I
mean every time I get a chance to, I'm home."
Thankfully, Republicans can replace him with Dr. Milton Wolf (R-KS), a true conservative
who actually lives in Kansas.
The Dems are also in-turmoil; Elizabeth Warren is being viewed as The Obama of 2016 because her
brand of populism could doom Hillarys White House ambitions. Such speculation is reinforced when it is
noted that The New York Times reported on the disappointing sales of Hillarys most recent memoir,
Hard Choices; it is currently ranked 108
th
on Amazons best-seller list, behind Ben Carsons memoir One
Nation (#75); it is enhanced when it is revealed that Qatar supports both Clinton Foundation and Hamas.
Anti-Semitism is also rampant among Dems, noting that MSNBCs loudmouth Ed Schultz
offered a very disturbing view of history when he tweeted that homosexuals, not Jews,
were the true victims of Hitlers holocaust. Also, Brandeis University's Faculty Listserv
explained why 87 professors signed onto a petition protesting the honorary degree
slated for womens rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali, for both the content and tenor of this
site contradict the mission statement of Brandeis University; it was founded to embody
its highest ethical and cultural values and to express its gratitude to the United States
through the traditional Jewish commitment to education and the school pledges its
faculty will bring newly minted knowledge straight from the field or lab to the graduate
and undergraduate classrooms. {These data motivate efforts to maintain an attack on
the Temple-U professor who is a Holocaust-Denier.}
Regarding the Israel-Gaza War, Hamas Deliberately Targets Civilians, Israel Does Not, a conclusion that
was corroborated by a Palestinian Arab [PA Official (Palestinian Arab envoy to UN Human Rights Council)
Admitted Israel Follows International Law while they Don't, claiming Hamas rockets are 'crimes against
humanity', while Israeli strikes are legal]. Indeed, HAMAS USES TERROR AS DOMESTIC PR, as evidenced
by the fact that, hours after Hamas sent volleys of rockets at Tel Aviv, the Israeli Defense Forces advised
Palestinian Arab residents of a neighborhood in northern Gaza to evacuate because the Israeli Air Force
1860
intended to carry out a massive attack in the area. This is c/w A new kind of ground operation in Gaza,
for the IDF has learned from bitter experience; sending troops into the Strip will be neither a picnic nor a
walk in the park. The Strategy appears to be to continue crushing Hamas from the air for at least two or
three more days before the cabinet decides, if at all, to launch a ground operation and what kind of
operation. Until then, the decision to bomb entire areas in the northern Strip after warning the residents
indicates a move from tweezers to a 5-kilogram hammer. The goal is not just a military one [moving
from individual destruction to wholesale destruction], but is also aimed at signaling to Hamas that Israel
is climbing one more step up the ladder, that we control the escalation [quoting a very senior officer].
{It is this level of sensitivity that prompted McCain to calld Israeli restraint 'admirable.'}
Support for these efforts takes myriad forms. On the one hand, Chabad 'Mitzvah Tank'
Joins Troops at the Front Line, as Chabadnik volunteers provide spiritual and moral
support for IDF soldiers poised for Gaza ground assault; on the other hand, A wish list
from a right-winger depicts what some would want Israel to do, reflecting anguish.
Meanwhile, an unusual source of levity arose when Hamas Hackers Took-Over Israeli
Dominos Pizza Facebook Page.
Dick and Liz Cheney feel *although BHOs credit-taking has predictably morphed into blame-shifting]
America should provide Iraq military support [trainers, special operations forces, an intelligence
architecture, and air power] to aid in mounting a counteroffensive against ISIS. ISIS does not recognize
the border between Syria and Iraq, and neither should we; we must strike ISIS in their sanctuaries,
staging areas, command centers, and lines of communication on both sides of the border. We also need
to do everything possible to defend Jordan against ISIS. {Also, note that Iran is Still on-Track for 2015
ICBM Flight Test, despite the latest Pentagon report to Congress on Tehrans military that omitted
earlier references to the looming ICBM threat.}
Illustrative of the refinement of pro-Islamist PR is Al-Monitor, which allegedly follows
the agenda of the Iranian and Syrian governments and Hezbollah.
[6][7]
Note, as an
example, why Daoud Kuttab suggests that the true target, and a likely casualty, of the
conflict is the unity agreement between Fatah and Hamas:
The Israeli military establishment and to a lesser degree the Hamas
military wing have their own reasons to ramp up the conflict and test
their latest military equipment. The war on Gaza is an unnecessary war.
The calm from the previous cease-fire was holding until Netanyahu and
company decided to piggyback on a heinous crime against three Israeli
settlers. Their aim is to accomplish far-reaching political goals that
include crushing a legitimate political movement.
Note not-so-subtle swipes @ Israel, both regarding its alleged intent to sow acrimony
between the PA/Hamas and regarding the claim that this is all so very unnecessary;
there is not even an effort made to acknowledge the ongoing missile attacks from Gaza.
