Dear Khun Krischai,

Due to our piping stress analysis around Main Turbine RT-4301,
We have some question that need to receive confirmation from Main Turbine (RT-4301)'s vendor as below.

1. Refer reply from ELLIOTT (2012-6-17)

" 3. Calculation of combined nozzle load method
Because of main exhaust or other piping that connected to turbine nozzle
is
scope of vendor.
<ELLIOTT Reply>
Nozzle load to the main turbine exhaust nozzle will be submitted by
Elliott.

Other nozzle load and combined nozzle load should be taken care by others.

<TTCL Piping Dept>
Please submit main turbine exhaust nozzle loads to us as soon as possible,

We need this data for combined nozzle load checking.

<ELLIOTT Reply 2012-6-17>
We have submitted Expansion Joint Drawing. The forces and moment at
turbine
exhaust is indicated in the drawing."
>>> From ELLIOTT's Expansion Joint data sheet : TTCL Piping Dept. review vendor data for find out
Fx,Fy,Fz ,Mx,My and Mz (Forces and Moments) ,we can use lateral movent and lateral spring rate for specify
lateral forces but we found problem about Pressure Thrust Value that equal to 10969.23 kg (Both Operating and
Design condition) .From our checking found this pressure thrust values come from design pressure (1.1 kg/cm^2).
(While Turbine Data sheet specify operating pressure at Exhaust nozzle 0.13 kg/cm^2)

Pressure Thrust Force is a force that acting to Exhaust nozzle in axial Direction : refer to EJMA standard

Fs = Force due to thrust force load
Fp = Force due to internal pressure
Fa = Force due to expansion joint spring rate

Faxial = Fa+Fs-Fp

Now we assume Fa = 0 for estimate load due to thrust force.( No movement at both end of bellow)
Internal Diameter of Exhaust Nozzle (Di) = 1067 mm. (Please submit confirm value to us) **** (1.4)

Faxial = 0 kg + 10969.23 kg - 9835.18 kg = 1134.05 kg

>>>> If we use Expansion Joint data at design condition for combine axial movement at both end of Expansion
Joint (from Turbine Nozzle and Condenser Nozzle)

Faxial = 276.46 kg +1134.05 kg = 1410.51 kg. (Nearly allowable limit that concern to avialable room for combined
forces and moments)

We found Fr @ Exhaust Nozzle = Sqrt(1410.51^2 + 505.49^2) = 1498.35 kg > (Allowable Fr @ Mr =0 Equal
to 1462 kg and effect to exceed Allowable Combined Resultants of combined forces and moments )

1.1 We need clarification of this problem from ELLIOTT. (How to manage this problem?)

1.2 Our Piping Stress Specification specified to use operating condition determine forces and moments at
rotating equipment nozzle,
Can we use Operating Pressure at Turbine Exhaust Nozzle = 0.13 kg/cm^2 for calculate pressure thrust load and
internal pressure load?

1.3 Due to low allowable Forces and Moments ,we hard to adjust piping route within this limit.
Can ELLIOTT increase Allowable Forces&Moments factor from 1 to other such as 1.5 ?

1.4 Please specify Internal Diameter of Exhaust Nozzle .

Please reply to us as soon as possible, Thank you very much for your support.

Best Regards,
