Guide to Buying Property in Regent's Park
Prices Regent's Park
It's no secret that property prices in prime central London
locations have been climbing for some time, and central London
estate agents remain positive about the market's future. During
August, property portal Zoopla registered a 10.2% uplift in
property prices in Regent's Park over the last 12 months, with the
average asking price in Regent's Park standing at 2,539,706.
Who's buying in Regent's Park?
The area has a distinctly international fan club, with property for
sale in Regent's Park attracting a wide audience thanks to its
central London location and cultural riches. Andrew Ellinas,
Managing Director of Sandfords, says NW1 has always attracted a
global purchaser: "In more stable times, the area was fuelled by
Middle Eastern buyers who liked to have a London property so
they could escape the Arab heat during the summer. More
recently, we have seen Russian, Chinese and Indian buyers queue
at the doors of central London estate agents. However, with the
Eurozone in unchartered waters, we are seeing the return of
French and Italian buyers, especially since the latter has entered a
triple-dip recession situation. Of course, we continue to help
buyers who are moving within London and from other parts of the
UK."

Property types in Regent's Park
The characteristic properties for sale in Regent's Park revolve
around the great architects of the Regency period, with houses
designed by John Nash and Decimus Burton some of the finest
period dwellings in the land. Characterised by their grand
proportions, Nash and Burton terraces bear white stucco-fronted
faades and Corinthian-style columns. Nash villas are one of the
most sought-after properties for sale in Regent's Park as only a
handful were built, and these examples can offer almost 3,000
square feet of living space.
Equally as grand is Cambridge Gate - a French second empire
building built around 1875 that has been converted into
apartments and penthouses with views over Regent's Park.
Elsewhere, many red-brick terraces on the Crown Estate have
been skilfully divided into flats, and there are many more modern
portered mansion blocks in Regent's Park, offering a low-
maintenance style of living.
