other two went out. And because other services depend on a phone line, including Fax transmis- sions, they too were lost. When the last employees left at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the phones still were not working. Internet service was lost around noon Mon- day, meaning some news items such as obituaries could not be received. One from the local funeral home was picked up by hand Tuesday, once the newspaper became aware that electronic transmis- sion still was not possible. However, one about the death of local resident Ruth Eskew, which was sent by an Edmond fu- neral home at 1:11 p.m. Tuesday, was not received until employees arrived at work Wednesday morn- ing. Consequently, it did not get in Wednesdays paper. The Daily News regrets that; however, the full obituary is in todays newspaper. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2014 FROM PAGE 1 CLINTON DAILY NEWS 3 By Associated Designs While the Edgewoods brick exterior is clearly colonial, its interi- or is fully contemporary. Bookend chimneys bracket a totally sym- metrical central section complete with a stately columned portico, keystone accented windows, and a hipped roof with eyebrow-arched dormers. The porticos copper roof provides a modern touch, and the side extensions break with tradition by varying in size. Entering, you step into a regal two-story foyer where a stairway wraps around the right side. On the left, slender columns flank the wide opening to a living room with a brick fireplace and den access. On the right, double doors open into a large dining room. Built-in hutches fill the alcoves on both sides of the second fireplace. A spacious, well appointed kitchen is at the homes core. Counters and cup- boards line the walls, and the work island provides additional work and storage space. The high capacity stove boasts six burners. From the sink, you can gaze past the raised conversation bar into the richly windowed nook and beyond. Mirror image sliders open onto par- tially covered patios on two sides. Doors or short passageways link the kitchen to the family room, dining room, and office. A large utility room and three-car garage are just a few steps further. The high-ceilinged family room is as bright and spacious as they come. Its bowed bay windows are crowned by a row of transoms. Slen- der windows stand sentinel on both sides of the fireplace, and a home entertainment center fills one wall. Five bedrooms are upstairs, plus a bonus room and four bathrooms. A fourth fireplace warms the Edge- woods luxury owners suite, which has a huge walk-in closet and an elegant bathroom with a large soaking tub. CONSTITUTION EXHIBIT Moring succeeded in booking a visit by a U.S. Constitution traveling exhibit from the Gen. Tommy Franks Museum in Hobart. The exhibit will travel to Clinton for two days around Constitution Day Sept. 17 and 18. Moring plans to park the large trailer on the north side of the CMS complex. A one-day unit on the Constitution is planned and social studies students in geography and U.S. histo- ry will be visiting the exhibit. Moring said from 40 to 50 students at a time can go through the display. He said there wont be time for the display to be visited by the general public. hearing, she said, That means they didnt have any issues. Some of the issues that surround a petition might have been whos in the unit, whos not, who can vote and not vote. She also said that during the 1970s and 80s, there were sometimes competing unions wanting to rep- resent a group. That didnt come up either, she said.
