History of IKRAM engineering SDN.

BHD


1952:Operated as a laboratory unit for the Penang Airport Project.
1967:Became part of the research and development department of the
Public Works Department (PWD) Malaysia, with headquarters in Kuala
Lumpur.
1973:The establishment of training centre to provide training services
for JKR employee. This year the higher authority of JKR decided to
purchase 100 acres of land in Bangi from PKNS.
1980:The first phase constructions of standard block 4-storey hostel
began
1987:Four units of laboratories namely in Prai, Kota Bahru, Kuantan
and Senai started operation and merge with JKR training centre.
1st January 1988:The Central Laboratory formed the nucleus for the
establishment of the PWD Research Centre. Subsequently, the
Research Centre and the Training Centre were amalgamated to
become the Research and Training Institute.
1990:Construction projects like multi purpose hall, training block,
cafeteria, recreation hostel block, and mechanical workshop
commenced.
10th April 1990:Recognised by government of Malaysia as a research
organisation and qualified to apply for research grants from the
Ministry of Science Technology and Environment.
16th December 1991 ILP changed its name to 'Institut Kerja Raya
Malaysia' (IKRAM)
5th November 1996:Memorandum of Agreement to privatised the
"Institut Kerja Raya" was signed between Kumpulan Ikram Sdn. Bhd.
(KISB) and the government of Malaysia to privatised IKRAM.
26th November 1996:IKRAM was privatised through an agreement
between the Government of Malaysia and a new corporate entity,
Kumpulan Ikram Sdn. Bhd.
1st January 1997:Effective date to takeover IKRAM by KISB.
1998:Ikram College was established and made the focus of KISB's
tertiary education activities.
2001:Ikram College changed its name to Ikram College of Technology
(iCT) to further strengthen its niche in the provision of technology and
infrastructure based programmes.
2003 On 13 September 2003:iCT was upgraded to a University College
status, and is now known as KUALA LUMPUR INFRASTRUCTURE
UNIVERSITY COLLEGE (KLIUC).KISB together with its associates
companies;Protasco Berhad, the holding company of KISB and its
associate companies, HCM Engineering Sdn. Bhd., Paves Sdn. Bhd.,
Protasco Trading Sdn. Bhd. were listed on the Bursa Malaysia.
2004:KLIUC's first convocation, after it was upgraded to a university
college status in 13 September 2003.
2005:Kumpulan Ikram's parent company, Protasco Berhad received
the SMB Achievers Award in the SMB Recognition Award Series 2005.

2006:Kumpulan Ikram celebrates its 10th year anniversary.The launch
of Kumpulan Ikram's strategic Business Blueprint 2007 -2016.
2007:KLIUC 10th year anniversary Ikram Skills and Retraining
Academy (ISRA ) launched. ISRA is the latest training arm managed by
Ikram Skills Academy Sdn Bhd.

2008:Fifth year anniversary of Protasco Berhad listed on the Main
Board of Bursa Malaysia The launch of Core Values Campaign; in line
with the People Transformation Strategy under the Kumpulan Ikram's
strategic Business Blueprint.
