1.) Opportunity-based Opportunity-based that I observe is Ulam Ayu Sanur. It is a culinary business, that sells food specialized on fish dishes. The background of this business is from the owners hobby, its cooking for its family. The location of this business is very strategic, because its located at the main street, its give a big opportunity to it to survive to other competitors. The employees are senior high school graduated, but they have been train to be a chef, waiter/waitress for 3 months. The target market are all levels, but mainly priorities are students, college students, and office workers. They have an organization structure from owner ( Mrs.Ayu), general manager, human resource development, head chef, head bar, etc. They use brochures and social media (facebook) to promote their business. Mrs.Ayus purpose become an entrepreneur are implement her hobby, fill her spare time, looking for new business opportunities that can be dug again. 2.) Necessity-based Necessity-based that I observe is Basreng Barokah. It is a traditional snacks from Bandung. The beginning of this business is from the Owner (Mr.Ayas) became a bus driver ( Bandung-Sumedang) and then he resign because of the time is not suitable, and the income is not sufficient. Then he inspired by his friend that successfull by selling Basreng, and he tried it and the result is very good. He started his business by borrowed capital, and then return it in installments of profit selling basreng. Mr.Ayas is a junior high school graduated. The target market are all levels, but mainly priorities are minimarket, traditional market,, stall, and wholesale market. They have an organization structure from owner ( Mr.Ayas and his wife), and 2 employees. They use the word of mouth to promote their business. Mr.ayas purpose become an entrepreneur is to full fill their daily needs.
3.) Their Differences Ulam Ayu Sanur and Basreng Barokah have differences. Ulam Ayu Sanur originated from sense to take an opportunity and realize it be a business although the business is from the owners hobby. And, Basreng Barokah originated from the need for daily needs and their routine every day and without it he cant eat with his family and full fill their necessity. 4.) My Thinking About Both Of Them An Entrepreneur must have mindset like optimism, passion, risk taker, consistent , and sensitivity to an opportunity. And I think they have that mindset, this is proved by their success to survive from similar business competitors. And also I think opportunity- based business goals are to get maximum profit, and help others to get job, so it can decrease the number of unemployment in this country, besides necessity-baseds goal is only to full fill their daily needs.
