1 Descripci on del curso
El objetivo de este curso es b asicamente estudiar de forma muy rigorosa el an alisis de la innovaci on
basado en evidencia econ omica. La estructura del curso proporcionar a al estudiante una amplia
visi on de las investigaciones empricas m as recientes sobre los determinantes de la inovaci on y
el cambio tecnol ogico. Adem as se enfatizar a los efectos de polticas de derechos de propiedad
intelectual sobre estos cambios tecnol ogicos.
Las clases est an dise nadas para discutir lecturas de investigaci on relacionadas al t opico corre-
spondiente a cada semana. Las clases semanales empezar an con una breve discuci on del t opico, un
repaso del paper y una presentaci on grupal de la lectura asignada.

2 Requisitos del Curso
La naturaleza del curso es la de un curso electivo de manera intensiva. Las clases est an repartidas
en 4 semanas. Cada semana, cada grupo deber a presentar un paper asignado por el profesor. Las
evaluaciones ser an.
Presentaci on de un paper de investigaci on en clases: 30% de la evaluaci on total:
La presentaci on del paper deber a contener un outline, brief introduction, empirical evidence,
contributions, methodology, conclusion. El tiempo que se asignar a a cada presentacion es de 30
minutos. Finalmente, el profesor elaborar a preguntas al nal de la presentaci on.
Referee Report: 30% de la evaluaci on total:
Este referee report se presentar a al nal de la cursada. La fecha de entrega ser a el da:
Domingo, 21 de Septiembre del 2014 a las 24:00.
Requisitos del referee report: de 300 a 400 palabras. Tama no de letra: 12 Times New Roman
doblemente espaciadas. Cada referee report debe contener la siguiente informaci on:
1. Cu al es la pregunta de investigaci on del paper?
2. Cuales son las contribuciones del paper?
3. Cu al es la metodologa del paper?
4. Qu e debilidades posee el paper a su parecer?
Participaci on en clases: 10% de la evaluaci on total:
Las evalaciones por participaci on cuenta por preguntas en clase (1/2 del puntaje) y preguntas
a sus compa neros en cada presentaci on (1/2 del puntaje).
Examen nal: 30% de la evaluaci on total:
El examen nal contendr a evaluaciones sobre los papers desarrolados en clase de manera
muy supercial y preguntas sobre un paper nal asignado por el profesor. El examen ser a
anunciado por el profesor en pleno acuerdo con los estudiantes (Fecha tentativa: Viernes, 12
de Septiembre de 2014 a las 14:00).
