Skills and work solutions are recruiting a Business Development Manager to maintain a high level of understanding of skills and
employment policy and funding environment and interpret the potential impact and opportunities.
To be based in Manchester City Centre.


The duties of the job include:

To contribute to the development and maintenance of relationships with funders, commissioners and partners.
To lead, coordinate and undertake activity necessary to prepare and submit tenders and bids that will succeed in attracting
funding.
To work in close collaboration with local authorities/combined authority, colleges, training providers and employer bodies
to establish the Manchester Growth Company as a major provider of skills services to employers and residents.
Contributing to the strategic development of the Manchester Growth Company.
To research and develop the necessary understanding of national and local skills policy.
To maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of MGC services, operation and ethos in order to interpret policy
developments as well as appropriately represent the MGC.
Identify and justify new areas of business through the monitoring of policy, funding and market developments.

We would like to hear from you if you have/are:

Experience in a similar role.
Knowledge and experience of skills and employment policy and delivery and associated funding arrangements
The ability to establish and develop new business in a competitive environment
Understanding and appreciation of the economic skills issues facing employers and individuals.
The ability to establish and maintain professional, positive and effective working relationships
A high-level written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Excellent marketing and negotiation skills.
A working knowledge of IT applications.
