UK VISA INTERVIEW PERSONAL PREPARATORY QUESTIONS

1. What is the name of your school?

The University of Huddersfield

2. Can you tell me the location of the university?
Its located in West Yorkshire between two major cities, Leeds and Manchester.
Precisely in Queensgate.

3. Why did you choose this University?
This University is ranked highly especially in my field of study. I learned about this
university while surfing on the net and then visited their official website to get more
information about the university. I really got impressed with their Faculty profile and
the course curriculum. The curriculum was very much similar to what I want to
study.

4. Why did you select the UK for higher studies? Isnt this course offered by any
university or college in your country?

UK has always been the center of excellence especially in (mention your field here)
and provides quality education by making students gain knowledge in a practical way
as much as possible, so it is quite an obvious choice for me.

5. Why did you select this course? Is it relevant to your previous studies?

This course is related to my previous studies. Firstly, the entry requirement for this
course is a degree in electrical/electronic engineering. A student of the department
of engineering control systems and instrumentation is poised to learn advanced skills
for a thorough and practical approach to the control of electrical equipment and
industrial process instrumentation in automated manufacturing, processing, power
systems, and utilities industries. The basics of these modules are taught in the
degree course electrical/electronic engineering. Control Systems program builds
upon this solid technical and professional foundation, ensuring wider career options.

6. What is the scope of your course?

The course will open new horizons for me and there are excellent job prospects for
me in Nigeria after completion of my course. Nigerian government is planning to
open more research prospect in this field and a formal degree and education will
help me in contributing in that.

7. What is the course structure?

The course is taught principally through lectures, tutorials, studio-based assignment
work and lab-based research activities.
Projects are supported by University research groups and by many industrial
organisations working in the field of engineering control systems and
instrumentation. The modules include:
- Embedded Controllers
The module will enable the development of the qualities and transferable skills
necessary to design, model and simulate embedded controllers for a wide range of
industrial applications.
- Modelling of Electromechanical Control Sys'Ms
The module will enable the development of the qualities and transferable skills
necessary to design, model and simulate servo control systems for motion control
applications in machine tools, robotics and automated production equipment.
- Signal Analysis and Processing
In this module you will study signal processing techniques for characterising the
transfer functions of different classes of process and system (process
identification)
- Process Measurement and Control
You will study the principal types of process plant and the associated
measurement and control equipment used in the process industries.
- Manufacturing Systems Automation
The aim of this module is to give you an appreciation of the technical possibilities
and commercial implications of automating manufacturing processes with a strong
emphasis on high-value, high-precision manufacturing. You will explore the
principles behind the programming and use of machine tools, industrial robots and
their control systems, such as PLCs.

- Development of Dimensional Measurement
The module combines the theory and practical application of metrology for
dimensional measurement of manufactured components.
- Project Management
This module aims to raise your understanding of the strategic, leadership and
technical aspects of project management and their role in adding competitive
advantage to any enterprise.
