hold
the
needles
parallel,
with
points
facing
in
the
same
direction.
Insert
tapestry
needle
into
first
stitch
on
needle
closest
to
you
as
if
to
purl
and
pull
yarn
through,
leaving
stitch
on
needle.
Insert

Tighten

Seam
sides
using
yarn
and
Mattress
stitch.
To
achieve
Mattress
stitch,
match
two
edges
together.
Pull
stitches
along
edge
to
separate
from
the
stitches
next
to
it,
revealing
the
horizontal
bar
that
runs
between
stitches.
Insert
tapestry
needle
under
that
bar
and
pull
yarn
gently
through.
Insert
the
needle
under
the
parallel
bar
on
opposite
piece
and
pull
yarn
gently
through.
Work
back
and
forth
from
one
side
to
the
other,
pulling
yarn
gently
as
you
go.
Place
bowl
and
collar
in
a
pillowcase
and
felt
in
top
loading
washing
machine
with
detergent
and
the
first
cycle
of
a
hot
wash.
Repeat
if
necessary,
but
check
shape
every
few
minutes.
Or
felt
by
hand:
Fill
a
bucket
with
hot
water
and
1
cup
baking
soda
and
agitate.
Roll
into
separate
towels
and
squeeze
out
excess
water.
Place
forming
bowl
inside

bowl
and
leave
for
2
to
3
days.
Wrap
collar
around
the
back
of
the
bowl
with
a
thick
ribbon
or
a
folded
hand
towel
to
hold
collar
to
bowl,
leaving
the
top
free.
Fold
top
down
to
create
collar
shape.
When
dried
to
form,
use
yarn
and
tapestry
needle
to
sew
collar
to
bowl.
Theres
no
need
to
sew
all
the
way
around;
you
can
just
tack
collar
to
bowl
every
few
inches
or
so.
About
1inch
from
base,
tack
collar
to
bowl
to
keep
it
from
flopping
over.
