recommendation for allocation of +@.! mmscmd gas for four more ++th Plan private pro'ects&
including Reliance Power's #amal$ot& pending assessment about their preparedness for timely

Limited availability of railway wagons to transport the dry fuel from ports is a constraint for
meeting the demand-supply gap through imports.

He said the company was planning to invest heavily to set up pro'ects for washing coal to

period if a proposal put forth by the .aharashtra Alectricity Regulatory (ommission 6.AR(7
gets the go-ahead.
he .AR( has proposed to all power suppliers in the state that power bills be divided into
two componentsG a variable component and a non-variable component. he non-variable
component will form a ma'or chun$ in the new multi-year tariff system. 5nder the new
system& suppliers won't be allowed to change it for five years.
he non-variable component in the new multi-year tariff system will include purchase or
generation costs& transmission and distribution costs& operation and maintenance costs&
administrative e9penses and depreciation charges. Aven the variable component& including
cost of fuel& will be hi$ed only after .AR( approval.
