Pastors Notes:

I just typed the date on top of

this newsletter and I could hardly
believe what I typed. October
21
st
, 2014. Where has the time gone? I guess the
old saying is true.time flies when you are having fun!. What a great time we are having in the
presence of the Lord!!!! Every week, the Holy Ghost speaks to us, encouraging us, blessing us,
challenging us. What a loving God we have! He is so concerned about us and the things that trouble
us. Sunday, we gave honor to those ladies that have been overcomers to breast cancer and also to all
those who have overcome other types of cancers as well. Then the Holy Ghost ministered to us by
anointing a song that was sung entitled Hes been faithful. WOW! Has God ever been faithful!
People began to respond to that thought in either thanking God for being faithful or stepping out by
faith asking the Lord to continue to be faithful in their circumstances or troubles. I promise you that
God will be faithful.that is His promise. You will never be sorry for trusting in the Lord and being
faithful to Him

There will be an informational meeting concerning a Mission Trip to Honduras in the Spring of 2015.
If you would be interested in going or would at least like to know more information about it, then
plan on meeting with us tonight, October 21 at 7:00 PM in the dining room. There will be coffee and
pastries to enjoy while we discuss. We may also explore the option of changing our trip date as well,
so come if you have any interest at all. Bendiciones!

JUST A LITTLE HEADS-UPThe time changes on Saturday night,
November 1
st
. Im still having trouble keeping up with the change now that
they have moved it later than usual.

We have plans for a communion and water baptism service on
Sunday evening, November 2
nd
. If you know that you have been
born again and need to follow the Lord in believers baptism, please
call the church office between 9-1 and give our secretary your name.
Every born again believer needs to be baptized in water. We look forward to a great time together
on that night.

I just want to encourage all our members and friends to be involved in ALL our church services. We
have great classes for children on Wednesday night, an awesome youth service for teens, Bible study
in the sanctuary for adults..Sunday nights are an awesome time for added challenge from the Word
and an additional worship opportunity. We need every opportunity to be in the Lords House and to

be together with His people. Sunday night, I will speak one last time on the Holy Ghost. In this day
and time where it seems there is a new challenge to the Christian Faith, we need His power and
strength to stand strong. The Holy Ghost is for YOU!!!! Lets come together and seek the Lord and
draw close to Him.

Miracle on Poole Street on Dec. 6- This event is geared toward the
unchurched in our area. They will be fed a meal and the gospel
will be presented. Everyone will leave with a gift! This was a
successful event last year, and we are hoping for an even larger
harvest this year! If you are interested in helping with "Miracle on Poole Street", please see
Todd or Vickie Porter.

The Choir & Media Department will present "This is Christmas" on Dec. 7 at 6:00 pm. "This is
Christmas" will be something to invite family, friends, and co-workers to. It will include fun
Christmas songs, moving video, lots of new choir songs (plus a couple of favorites from years
past), and more! Most importantly, the gospel of Jesus Christ will be presented in a powerful
way. The choir is working very hard to make this night the very best it can be!

Toy Closet: Thanks to all the Sunday School classes and Departments that purchased the specific
items we requested. Those items were to be turned in by the end of September. The following is
what we still lack:
Hats and gloves---Boys and girls (small-large)
Novelty T-shirts---Boys and girls (small-large)
We really need items for pre-teen and teen boys and girls. We need items like:
Perfume/Cologne
Purses/Wallets
Movies/DVDs
Boardgames
Jewelry (Boys and Girls)

We need the Toy Closet fully stocked by Mid November so we can hand out the toys at Miracle
on Poole Street. All Toy Closet recipients are required to attend this event that way we not
only help them with Christmas but we make sure they get a nice meal, hear the Word of God,
experience the love of the WCOG, and possibly win many more gifts and prizes. We want them
to leave with their stomachs full, their hearts full and their hands full.

Well, the hunting season is in full swing (for those of us who hunt) and we hope that you are
staying alert to gun safety. We want you to have a great time but always be careful and consider
the safety of those around you as well as yourself. By the way, Feel free to bring pictures of the
game you have harvested and share your story with us at our next meeting on November 6th in
the mancave at 6:30. Make your plans now to be with us.

We are always looking to improve our meeting place and we are now looking for a deer , duck,
turkey, or bobcat mount. If you have one that you would like to donate or know of someone
who does, please do not hesitate to call me at 864-706-3877, or any of the band Of Brothers so
that we can make arrangements for it. See yall soon!

A special Thank You to all of you who helped to make our Senior Adult Revival a great
success. The attendance exceeded our expectations and all who participated in any area of
leadership did an outstanding. From our musicians and singers, the sound man, ushers,
greeters, those who gave testimony, led devotions etc. all are to be commended for a job
well done. The Evangelist, Rev. V.R. LeBuhn was truly directed by the Lord in his singing and
preaching, and many were refreshed and blessed around the altars.

JOY CLUB:
Our monthly meeting of the Joy Club will be this Thursday, Oct. 23 at 6:30 PM
in the CLC. If you have failed to sign up please call the church office and give
your name. We are having soups and salads and you should one or the other.

We will be combining our Thanksgiving and Christmas Joy Club meetings this year. The date is
Dec. 11 and the time is 6:30 PM. Please mark your calendar and plan to be part of this annual
event. The meal will be catered at no cost to you but if you sign up we do expect you to show
up because we will have to pay based on the number who sign up. Remember, this meeting
will replace both the November and December meetings, so mark it down and sign up as soon
as you see the sheet on the bulletin board.

If you would be interested in helping take Christmas gifts to our shut-ins, please see
Pastor Shealy.
The next Leadership Meeting will be announced soon, so keep your ears open for that.
