Contacts, Calendar, SMS, Photos, Videos and Music. The Mobile Phone Backup service copies
your mobile phones data in a secure manner to !perators secure Mobile Phone Backup system,
and also enables you to restore the saved data on your phone "#e$ % &'isting( $henever you
change your phone or in case you lose the data accidentally.

3P,S stands for 3eneral Packet ,adio Service. 4t is an enhancement to the 3SM mobile
communications system, $hich allo$s internet bro$sing on a mobile phone as $ell as connecting
to data services.

Call the Customer Care to get 3P,S activated. Customer care $ill provide you the steps to
activate the 3P,S. !nce 3P,S is activated, please select operator specific access point as the
default access point.
3. 4ow can ) !e&iste! to Mobile Phone Backup se!#ice usin& m* /P01 capabilit* phone?
To start, ensure that you have 3P,S enabled on your phone. !nce 3P,S is activated by
follo$ing steps given in 567 #o. <, you can register to the Mobile Phone Backup service by any

!nce you receive the SMS confirming your registration, you $ill receive an SMS containing a link.

:. This $ill redirect you to the A6P page $here you need to accept Terms and Conditions and
do$nload the application.

4f you have directly accessed the A6P Portal by typing http://pb.bsnl.onmobile.com/bsnlwap
on your phones $eb bro$ser, then you $ill be prompted to do$nload the application directly on
to your mobile phone and installation $ill happen automatically. !nce installed, Phone Backup
icon $ill appear in your CPhone MenuC or C3ames 5olderC or C6pplication 5olderC depending on your
phone model.
1. Will the Mobile Phone Backup application be %ownloa%e% on all /P01 phones?
#o, all 3P,S enabled phones do not support auto-do$nload of the Mobile Phone Backup
application. !nly if it is a F6V6 or Symbian phone handset, the Phone Backup application $ill be

Phone Backup icon to launch it. !nce launched the Mobile Phone Backup sho$s a home screen
$ith options like Backup, Schedule, ,estore and Settings.

.ou can select the data type that you $ant to save%backup and click backup to initiate backup
process. The application $ill sho$ you $hen the selected data has been successfully and
securely saved%backed-up on to the Mobile Phone Backup $eb-server.

.ou can click on the Phone Backup icon to launch the application as e'plained in 567 #o. =B. !n
the screen you $ill see options of Backup, Schedule, ,estore and Settings.
Then click on ,estore function on the screen. !n the screen you $ill get option to select $hich
data to restore on to your phone. .ou $ill see Contacts, &vents, Tasks, Photos, Videos and Music
etc depending on the phone model. .ou can select the data type that you $ant to restore and
click restore to initiate restore process.
The application $ill prompt you to enter your Pass$ord HThe pass$ord that you use to login to
$eb interface. The application $ill sho$ you $hen the selected data has been successfully and
securely restored on to your mobile phone.

.es you surely can. .ou can click on the Phone Backup icon to launch the application as
e'plained in 567 #o. =B. !n the screen you $ill see options of Backup, Schedule, ,estore and
Settings.
The Schedule option $hen clicked $ill sho$ you options of Eaily, Aeekly, Monthly and keeping
the schedule option as >!55. .ou can select desired timing and also the desired content that you
$ant to save%backup during the scheduled time. "By default the Schedule option is kept as >!55
i.e. feature is disabled(

Ahen the user clicks on the $ap link "operator specific link(, it displays the A6P page $ith the
option to send the sync settings to that user. ?ser gets a message $ith username and pass$ord,
another message $ith the link of Phone Backup instruction page. 6nd then an SMS $ith sync
settings $hich it needs to save into the mobile phone. 6 ne$ sync profile $ith Phone Backup is
created. #o$ the user needs to go to options and select Synchroni2e. This starts the
synchroni2ation bet$een the phone and backup server.
4n fe$ of the handsets automatic sync settings are not saved. 5or that $e need to create the sync
profile manually. Ahen a user select a Motorola V0i on $eb. The message displayed on the $eb
page is

How to sync from your phone
1.Go to the main screen.
2.Select Applications, press Options and Open.
3.Select Phone Backup, press Options and Open to start the application.
4.Press Ok to pass the welcome message.
5.Press Yes to agree the Phone Backup Terms & Conditions.
.Check your settings: select !ettin"s in the Options Menu.
n the Account section, enter your Phone Backup login and password, i! not already done.
n the #onnection section, enter http:""PB.BS#$.onmo%ile.com"%snlsync"s, i! not already
done.
$.Press Backup now to start your %ackup.
%.Select which data you would like to %ackup and press O&.

6fter creating or saving sync profile go to options and select synchroni2e. This $ill start
synchroni2ation bet$een mobile and phone backup server. The process checks the difference
bet$een the phone data and the server data and synchroni2es the unavailable data. Through
Synchroni2ation backup and restore completes in a single process.

4n 3P,S "SyncM/( phone $hile synchroni2ation backup and restore completes in a single
process. 4t means both the data $ill get available at both the server and phone ends.

4n 3P,S "SyncM/( process scheduling is not possible as it is not supported by any phone.

4f the 3P,S connectivity breaks at anytime during backup or restore functions then appropriate
error message of >#et$ork Connection 5ailed $ill be sho$n and you $ill be prompted to >Try
again.
4n case you e'ited Phone Backup application $ithout retrying, then the ne't time that you click on
the Phone Backup application, it $ill automatically sho$ you a message asking you to either
resume the earlier transaction or do it later or suspend the transaction permanently. Based on
your choice the application $ill proceed.

4f you receive a call or SMS $hile doing backup or restore functions the backup%restore process is
kept on hold temporarily and resumes as soon as the call is completed. Io$ever if the call takes
too long to complete then an error message >#et$ork Connection 5ailed is displayed and you $ill
be prompted to >Try again. ,emaining steps are same as given above in 567 #o. .

Ahenever you first log-on to your Mobile Phone Backup account from the internet, this internet
account $ill force you to change the pass$ord. .ou can also change your pass$ord after logging

.ou can retrieve the pass$ord from $eb interface using forgot pass$ord option. The pass$ord
$ill be sent by SMS to your mobile phone.

.ou cant use any function of the Mobile Phone Backup service after you have changed your

So please ensure that the pass$ord must be changed in both the locations, i.e. Aeb-account as
$ell as on the mobile phone itself.

phone is not available $ith you. .ou can completely manage your saved%backed-up data using

!nce these changes are made then you can restore or sync your phone and you $ill get the

Ahen your subscription period of one month gets over the Mobile Phone Backup system checks
for the pre-paid balance in the your Mobile 6ccount and on receipt of subscription fee e'tends the
subscription for a period of one month.
4f there are issues of insufficient balance in your mobiles pre-paid account then the system keeps
trying for ne't three days. Euring this period your Phone Backup account $ill be suspended. 6fter
three days if subscription confirmation is not received by the Mobile Phone Backup due to
insufficient balance the service gets deactivated automatically.
4n case you have a post-paid mobile connection, then automatically on e'piry of a months time
after subscription date, the Mobile Phone Backup service is rene$ed.
