SUBMISSION RULES
Of
TRAINING PROGRAM DIARY


Companys or authorized engineers signature and seal have to be placed on every pages of training diary.
Trainee must attach his/her own photograph to first page of training diary.
Evaluation Form (Employer Report on Internship) must be approved by companys seal and signature. And it
has to be submitted in an envelope which is closed and again sealed by company.
Evaluation Letter (Assessment of Internship), differently from General Report, contains positive and negative
opinions of trainee about the company. This letter must take place in Training Program Diary.
Training diary and documents (photographs, drawings, forms, and letters) related with training must be delivered
in an envelope (A4 A3). The documents which are not submitted in envelope (with mail, late submission of
some documents) certainly will not be evaluated.
Training diary has to be printed out or written with a pen in English.
Late Submissions may result with losing points. 7 and over - day delays will not be accepted.
Training diary must be submitted to the authorized assistant. Training diary which is submitted to other assistants
or secretary will not be evaluated.
In addition to signatures, IMO NUMBER and PHONE NUMBER of ENGINEER also must be written
under the week report of training.

During my training program at The Sales Office project for HEP flats, I have learned lots of things about
construction, applications of design projects, management of a construction project and departments. I believe in it,
that this experience will help me by my future courses and lectures. Moreover, I gained a wider vision about the
construction sector.
I had to chance to learn and observe reinforcement concrete works and steel assembly. Understanding the
reinforcement, steel structure design projects; observing the applications of these works was main parts of my
training..
Nowadays the quality management has an important role in the construction business. Before and after
production the quality has to be checked. Laboratory and experiments are one of the important indicators. All
works done in the project are in accordance with the international standards. This is a deterministic factor for
clients also. I have learned the processes and operation of quality management department in the training program.
On the other hand, safety is another significant issue at a construction site. Preventing accidents, protecting
environment from bad effects of the work and keeping all workers healthy are the responsibilities of the firm. HSE
department deals with these subjects. There are several dangerous jobs at the site and every worker is trained, as
well as me. I have learned the precautions and possible incidents and accidents which can occur at the site.
Besides the construction work, for me the most important things are planning and cost control. If we look at the
job as the management of a project, these two divisions are the guide lights of the project. Management of workers,
staff, materials, equipment, machines, money and time are the major factors that affect whole project. Daily,
monthly, quarterly plans and reports are prepared by the departments.
To conclude, there are lots of different works and different departments in such an organization. I could have the
chance to see how these departments and works are done and also related to each other. To my opinion, this
training program helped me by improving myself.

1. What skills and qualifications you think that you have gained from internship?

I learned to understand the projects and how they are going to be applied. I have learned how to communicate
with workers on the site and the most importantly I learned how to follow up work process in the site.

2. What kind of responsibilities you have undertaken during the internship period?

I was responsible of doing controls whether applications were right or wrong in the project.

3. How do you think the internship will influence your future career plans?

It is an important experience to me to see and work on a site.

4. How do you think the internship activities that you carried out are correlated with your classroom knowledge?

Unfortunately I did not take steel structure courses at Boazii University yet but this internship gave me some
ideas for next semester courses. On the other hand material sciences and strength of materials courses which I
took in Boazii University helped me in the construction site.

5. Did you face any problem related with communication, application to training and acceptation by company during
training?

I have learned so many things about the construction and its management. I had to chance to put the theory
into practice and gain a realistic opinion about the working conditions for engineers in such companies. I
observed the living and working conditions, personal relations as well as the technical aspects of the work.
Considering the future of the construction sector, it is obvious that, there will be lots of jobs in foreign
countries, especially in the developing countries. I think I can work at sites for a long time
