Brother Takafuji says the 5 class groups and church

The groups got together for some fine fellowship at

New Years time. We only wish this fellowship could reach out to others who know nothing of
the rich blessings that are ours in Christ. We covet your continued prayers on behalf of
the folk out there in Sendai.

At the National Missionary Convention last September we learned of the need for giving

gifts to missions in a way that will meet the requirements of income tax regulations.

For

example, to write a check to Paul Nielsen, even though you designate the gift "for mission

work" down in the corner of the check, is no longer legal if you wish exemption in your
income tax. The check must be made to an incorporated mission name or to the name of a
church. In most cases the convenient way is to give your gift through the local church

where you worship, asking the church to send your gift to your designated missionary or
mission field. If sending your gift to us through the local church is not advieeable, we

suggest that you make your check payeable to NORTH TOWNE AVENUE CHURCH OF CHRIST,
put our name on the check anywhere.

Do not

In your accompanying letter state that the gift is for

Paul Nielsen or TOHOKU RURAL EVANGELISM.

The canceled check will be your receipt, acceptable

for income tax purposes. V/e are thankful to the folk in North Towne Avenue Church in Pomona
California for accepting gifts for us in this way. Since Mrs. Holm, our forwarding agent,
is a member of this church it is convenient for her to receive these designated gifts for
deposit to our Covina, California banking account.

We all had a very happy Christmas with Karcia's father and brother and family at
O'Neill, Nebraska. The weather man tempted to snow us in when it was time to return to
Minneapolis, The road vrest of Souix City was blocked. However by coming up across the
south east corner of South Dakota we made the trip safely.

We thank God and you Brethren for the very fine reception we are receiving in our

visits among you. Not only is Paul busy with tours but Marcia also is busy speaking at
trious meetings here in the Minneapolis area. The children are happy in school and in the
'oung people's activities in University Church, Our furlough is half over. We look with
anticipation and pray for God's guidance as we begin preparations to return to Japan. We
