PURPOSE OF THIS PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL


To do a personal inventory highlighting strengths and weaknesses and to agree on a practical improvement programme. A
performance appraisal shall be conducted annually and serves as a history of development and progress.
GUIDELINES
1.

For Rank & File staff Appraise Part A only


For Supervisor & Executive staff Appraise Part A & B

The appraiser shall first complete the entire form with the exception of the Employee Comments and then arrange to
discuss the form in a face-to-face Appraisal Meeting with the employee. The employee should have the opportunity to
comment verbally and in writing on the performance appraisal.

3.

The Appraisal Meeting with the employee shall be conducted in private and allow the employee sufficient time to
reflect on the appraisal prior to signing. The purpose of the meeting is twofold: (i) to review past performance; (ii) to
look forward to the year ahead.

4.

The appraiser and employee should mutually agree a set of objectives for the coming year. Achievement of objectives
set for the appraisal period should be reviewed as part of the appraisal process.

5.

Based on the total score, the appraiser shall circle the respective rating according to the score as follows:

Outstanding: Performance is outstanding in all major aspects of the job.

85 100

Good: Performance exceeds job requirements

70 84

Satisfactory: Performance meets basic job requirements.

50 69

Conditional: Performance does not consistently meet job requirements.

31 49

Unsatisfactory: Performance unsatisfactory or fail to meet job requirements.
