Health
Recognized as first educator in the district to create an asynchronous, online 9th grade health course utilizing
Moodle content management system. Creation of this course enabled continuation of health instruction during
severe budget cuts.
Facilitated learning sessions on health concepts to 9th and 10th grade students using a blended learning approach
and the ItsLearning LMS. Blended learning increases student engagement, personalizes pacing, and
accommodates the needs of a diverse set of learners.
Introduced to the school district, a mobile phone app as an extension of the classroom. Provided greater access
for students and parents to content and assignments.
Actively participated as negotiations committee member for three separate contracts from 2002 2010 and Lead
Negotiator in 2010.
Directed member activities and initiatives for the associations 436 members in the Franklin Public Schools.
Managed membership dues budget of $360,000.00. Successfully conducted all association business with the
requirements of a balanced budget.
Developed and executed goals and objectives of Individualized Educational Plans (IEP). Tracked and reported
student progress. Proper implementation of the IEP can lead to significant student success. IEPs are a closely
monitored and legal mandate in Massachusetts.
Conducted research and reporting on various accreditation committees: school and community resources for
learning and scheduling committee. Committee work was part of successful re-accreditation and re-certification
process for the high school.
Transferred to the High School focusing on special education curriculum, grades 9-12. Thirteen percent of the
high school population has some level of special need.
Synthesized testing results into narrative performance report for presentation to parents and Individualized
Educational Plan development. This document, which must have parental acceptance, becomes the guiding
document for accommodations and modifications for special needs students in the classroom for one year.
Generated goals and objectives that address individual learning differences and tracked student progress. Each
special needs student needs to achieve mastery in a very specific and tailored set of goals and objectives.
Remington Middle School - Student Support Services committee member as part of the New England Association
of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) self study (1999). The Student Support Services Committee identifies and
evaluates the current level and effectiveness of support systems in place and makes recommendations for future
services.
