3His divine power has granted to us all
things that pertain to life and godliness,
through the knowledge of him who called
us to his own glory and excellence, 4by
which he has granted to us his precious
and very great promises, so that through
them you may become partakers of the
divine nature, having escaped from the
corruption that is in the world because of
sinful desire. 5For this very reason, make
every effort to supplement your faith with
virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6and
knowledge with self-control, and selfcontrol with steadfastness, and
steadfastness with godliness,

Children coming to the Oasis

I love having kids here at the Oasis and they seem to enjoy it tooand I
have proof that they do! I received these via e-mail from some Oasis
guests:
The Oasis is an MK's equivalent to the Hilton. Warm cookies, fun dog,
good books, interesting games, great food, and no dish duty!
Samuel, age 12

At Amber's, we feel relaxed and understood. We are fine with living in

the local culture most of the time. However, getting to speak English
(all the time) helps us be ourselves, and not worry about unintentionally
breaking cultural rules. When we go to the Good Book Oasis, the
change of atmosphere is amazing. Being surrounded by good stuff, we
can relax, and don't have to be constantly on our guard against the
inappropriate and ungodly stuff that is everywhere else. It gives us a
break from stressful, culturally-complicated relationships, so we can
regain perspective and persevere the rest of the time. We love having a
safe place to explore in the countryside, playing with Paws, and having
English books, movies and games available.
Anna, age 14

Building UP the Oasis

We finally have plans in place to build the new apartment onto the
Oasis! The building will begin, God willing, in the spring once the
snow has stopped. This will be a small 2 bedroom apartment for me
which will open up another room (my current apartment) for guests
on the ground floor. I am very excited about this project! The Landlord
will be covering some of the cost of the building and I need to raise an
additional $25,000 (Pray for the Lords provision for this project.

Adversity is always unexpected and unwelcomed. It is an intruder

and a thief, and yet in the hands of God, adversity becomes the
means through which His supernatural power is demonstrated.
