Why I Deserve to Win Essay # 1
Meet new people, new Culture are so interesting that God give it to us. We can learn
how unique the
culture is created., How to respect their culture and enjoying all changes that God
gives to us.
Life is a book that should we fill each sheet with various activities useful every day.
Book can be read
people in order to give them knowledge, give benefit to them. God always give us
new sheet to fill.
What would we fill?
Peoples with long life journey have thick book, but not means older peoples have
more thick, because
its possible that young peoples that have various experience can add thickness of
their book even
thicker than older people.
Of course ,I want to be the young People.
My friend ever told to me if you have a chance to go abroad so go to Montreal,
Canada, because at
there you will find how unique the culture that American mixed with European
Culture. You will not find
this unique culture in the world except in Montreal.
Im so interest to follow Summer School Program. I want to realize my dream to
study in Concordia
University, Montreal, Canada because I know that a lot of people from difference
cultural around the
world are studying there. I can learn various culture that they brought and I would
share it to my
Country. Besides that, I can promote Indonesian Cultural and share with my friends
there that we have a
lot of traditions and the other unique traditions that can interesting them, like Batik
fashion that can you
see at my profile because I wear it.Indonesia have unique food such as Baso and

Database Center. Here, the Activity like updating all related or relevant data which
important for all
student of statistics especially and students of Bogor Agricultural University
generally. We always
coordinate with the other division that have relation with data to be neat in order to

certainty, but winning is
a possibility. It's called win-win solution!", said my father.
In such globalization era where education and technology have dynamically
changed and given many
global impacts to the world, I think as a good nation (especially from developing
country) who conducts
as a student, this becomes the opportunity to learn and share with another people
from many countries
around the world, particularly the developed ones in order to know how they
(developed nations) can
sustain and take a part in controlling the world and mostly to know how their
cultures really are.
Why I am eligible:
1. I believe there's a certain spiritual power that controls us in this world, that is
God. The reason why
God creates human is, God wants to know how well he/she uses his/her mind and
heart which have
been blessed by God in order to admit that everything belongs to him. That's the
way how a winner
thinks, and I do so.
2. Because I'm born as the champion. See, yes indeed my father is the first best
father of the world, and
my mother is exactly the first best mother of the world. When they considered to
make a baby, you
know my father's sperm (which is composed by millions substances of sperm) had
to contest themselves
to reach the only one special ovum of my mother to be a zygote and grew to be
baby which was
acknowledged as BEST OF THE BEST. You know, the baby is ME!
3. I don't need to know why they (another nations) are totally different with my one,
but I really need to
know what makes my nation is totally different with them because at the end of the
day that's the way a
good nation contributes to his country through his mind and tell the world that
we're different. I bet the
committee will only choose a good nation and I think I'm on progress to be it.
4. Another quotes my father told me, "Don't die before you give a meaning!" At
least there's a certain
part who really expects me to win this and I want to give them that meaning. The
meaning isn't only
about the pride but it is how you bring the positive changes. The one who puts that
expectation is
absolutely my country itself because it knows that I'm (as a part of society) an
asset. So, what should be
doubted anymore?

5. I know nobody could make the same reasons why they deserve to win, and
nobody could make the
same thoughts of mine. That's why I'm different. And a different is the one who
should win! :)
I do not know how, about I always dream for someday I can go to USA, Canada,
Japan, England, French,
Germany, and so forth because I do love making friends, especially from other
countries. So far, Ive got
two opportunities lost for going abroad in term of student exchanges. When I was in
first grade of senior
high school, I knew for some information about student exchange program to USA,
called AFS (American
Field Service), but unfortunately my parents didnt permit me to join such contest.
The reason merely
coming from them was because I needed to waste one year for study as a
compliance of joining AFS,
thus I would finish my high school for about four years. I lost the first chance. Then,
when I was second
grader, again I got information about JENESYS, one of student exchange program to
Japan. I joined the
contest under the permission of my parents. But at that time, I just got the 3rd
position while they
would only send two students. That was making me so disappointed. Well, by this
contest, I think I have
one more chance to reach my dream for going abroad.

Hey, Guys..!!
My name's Angga Febri, from Indonesia.
This is one of my dream to get scholarship in abroad. I have a big passion to
learning in the other
country but i don't have enough money to make my dream comes true. So
scholarship is the solution to
get them all.
I deserve to win the scholarship summer school in Montreal, Canada because:
1. I am proud to be an Indonesian and I want to share the culture and values to the
world.
2. I love to meet new faces from different walks of life and from different places
around the world.
3. I like to explore the world and get a good and educative experience.
A little something about me, I am 19 years old and a student of Indonesian
Literature from the
Padjadjaran University, Bandung -West Java. I love everything about writing
activities.
As a student of Indonesian Literature, of course I struggled with many issues
surrounding the language,
writing, art, literature, folklore, and culture.
With the ability I have, namely language and literature, I wish I could give a real

I have some things that make me deserve to win but the main reason is I am a hard
willing girl who will
do everything in positive ways to reach a victory. I love to win. The other reasons
are I am open minded
and very interested in meeting new people who has a totally different background
with me. I love
cultures. It will be a very exciting challenge to interact with them and do cultural
exchange. I also need

hi everyone, I'm muna from Aceh, one of famous region in indonesia. Why i deserve
to win? it's because
I love going abroad, having new experience, new friend, and new culture.
Aceh, as you know was distroyed by the great wave (Tsunami) and earthquake. so
many foreigners came
to help us. Cultures and languages were exchanging around us. That's why I was so
obsessed to spread
our cultures and languages even further through the whole world.
Let me tell you one of my experience, I went to United States on 2008 as an
exchange student, I got new
families, friends, self abilities, and knowledges. Too many unforgetable memories of
the whole year
living there. It was like building new bridge between us, Indonesia and United
States. I was addicted to
it. So I went to China on 2010 to get more experiences. I speak four languages and
have been learning

I think I'm someone who loves experimentation and unorthodoxy. I don't follow
stream and I like to
think out of the box, which is why such an opportunity will be colossal landmark for

penchant for travelling and film-making: two ingredients that will most possibly
unlock the secret recipe

I deserve to win because I think that by being a part of the Summer School
Scholarship program I will get
the training to realize my goals and it will give me the spirit to take successful steps
towards my goals.
This scholarship will give me an edge over other individuals who are unable to study
in such prestigious
universities. My victory in this competition will be my first step towards the journey
that I will encounter
later on in life. I have always had the willingness to work for the welfare of the
society and promote
international brotherhood. I participated in the Intel Science Fairs with a project
aimed for exactly this
purpose. I made black ink from the pomegranate waste and displayed the
procedure of making it in all
the science fairs I competed in (District, National and International). The procedure
is relatively simple
and can be done by the poor to make ink and sell it to generate income especially
for the rural women
in my country, in doing so this procedure can be a step to eradicate the menace of
poverty. I won
National grand award in Pakistan for this project. I think of many such projects on a
daily basis but sadly
in my country there aren't sufficient facilities to work on all of those projects.
Globalization has changed
the world and interaction with other counterparts has become inevitable. This
Summer School will
provide an opportunity to interact with youth and get to know each others point of
view on different
issues. I believe that interaction among people is the only instrument to bring peace

I'm a person who likes challenges that never I fell or I do before and I would never
stop doing all my
best,to achieve what I want..
to study abroad I think I can't, because I wasn't enough money, because both my
parents die. My father
died six years ago and my mother died four years ago.
now I'm studying at the University of Diponegoro, Faculty of social science and
politics by using money
from the government of Indonesia or known as scholarship.
I am very pleased to be a participant in this program.
I hope in this program I can explore all that I like about the business and social
issues has always be my
priority. I have two reasons to explain why I like social and business. first social we
can provide or share
with someone else who needs help and also we can know about the condition of
someone who needs
help. The second is from the business, the busines we can get the money to give

I feel I deserve this scholarship because I have overcome many obstacles in my life
to come out on top.
The activities that I have been involved with have helped me grow as a person and
have allowed me to
reach out a helping hand to the community. The activities that I have been involved
with include, among
others, my community,my family & my friends.
Ever since I was a child my family instilled in me the important of religion and a
good education.
Although my parents were not particularly wealthy they scarified themselves
financially hoping for me

Why not?
I have experience of living in many different countries before. Which means that I've
been through
learning so many diversities of culture in my lifetime. Thus to adapt in other country
its not my problem
at all, I enjoy it instead.
I have skills in art, music, sports, language and martial arts. I like to draw sketches
and sometimes do
some paintings. Photography is another part of my life. I start to love this hobby
since I was in junior
high school using some old digital camera. At that time i used to save my money to
buy a super-cool
camera, which I have it now .
I love music; guitar and piano is my specialty. When I was in elementary school, I
took piano course.
Been learning for almost three years. Many people says I am a fast-learner, I doubt
that though. Well,
somehow I learn how to play guitar by myself on internet. Kinda cool isn't it? :p
I like to play soccer and tennis. I speak Indonesian, English, Spanish and little
Swedish. This year I am
going to take French in my studies. If I win this, i will have the opportunity to learn
French in practice.
i like to make friends. i like to hang out. I like to be social. I do part-time job to
survive. I have academic
and non-academic skills. I can cook. I can survive the jet-lag. I can clean my room. I
can wash dishes. I
can share my culture(I am Indonesian!) then I can spread your culture. I love

Friends, do you know the power of dreams?
Yes, a few people who aware of the power dream which could realize them dreams.
At some point, the
dream will be achieved. But I believe that my dream will come true someday.
Friends, I am a person who always dream to be able to go to the foreign. I try to
prove my dream by
trying to sign up at Taruna Nusantara's high school, 6 years ago. I thought, if i went
to the best school, i
had more opportunities. But, I must be patient because I did not pass the medical
test. Though I have
fulfilled the academic test.
3 years latter, since the rejection of Taruna Nusantara's high school without school I
always dreamed
there I should be able to go to foreign. Canada is a country of dreams.
ITB is the dream campus that I thought could help me to go to the foreign. But, I
must again be patient
as 2 times the entrance test does not pass my ITB.
My friends, my mind is very narrow with the thought that with the school in good
schools that can help
to go abroad that is foreign. But since I was attending college I started an open
mind with no school in
my favorite school could go overseas. True friends, the power of dreams can help us
to realize our
dreams. We just need to believe. Confident with our dreams.
I dreamed that I can go to foreign. And hopefully this contest International summer
school.

Halo, my name is Yosef. (If you noticed, Halo is Indonesian word for Hello).
I recently study at Universitas Indonesia majoring in Accounting.
It is such a wonderful opportunity that Concordia University offers a full-paid
scholarship to its
international summer school program. Well, I take the risk to join this contest.
Because i know the
benefit from joining this program would better myself in any aspects, especially in
my english
conversation skills and perspective to see how the world evolves outside my
country, Indonesia.
I deserve to win because (well I don't like this part...) I excel in what I do. I love to
live in any cultural
differences. Moreover, It's my dream to study in other countries, and Canada is one
of options. As a city,
Montreal is influenced by French-English Culture, which I have been familiar with
from some movies I
have watched and music I listen to in my living activites. Hence, I would absolutely
enjoy the moment
living in Montreal.
My motto is one of Einstein's quote :

I strongly believe that Canada is a country that offers great opportunities to people
who have passion,
ambition and strong desire to make their dreams come true. I assume Im one of
those people who have
these qualities.
I come basically from a multi-cultural milieu where various languages are spoken:
Arabic, Tmazight,
French, and even English nowadays in the digital media at least. The diversity of
Moroccan materializes
as melting pot of cultures whereby Muslims, Jews, and Christians have lived in
harmony from time
immemorial. Such diverse cultural background will make it easy for me to deal with
the culturally
diverse setting of the summer school.
As a Master student in Cultural Studies, discovering various cultures, norms, and
ways of life have
always fascinated me. I have thereby got to explore and understand cultural
diversity and difference.
Undoubtedly, such awareness would make us so much appreciate our sense of
identity and the
importance of others in our lives.
I do believe that I deserve to win because I have the ability to positively impact
peoples minds. Im an
open-minded and influential person in my surroundings. I believe I can make
effective change in my life
and in the life of others. Besides,as a member and responsible in the MAFE (The
Moroccan Association
of Friends of English), social work helps me get adapted to different situations, be

I dreamed of doing something big. I dreamed of making a difference. I dreamed of
inspiring my fellow
youth through pushing and doing my best to attain it by finishing my study. After
making those dreams
in reality, I realized that life will never stop there ... it will continue to create new
dreams.
I graduated with the Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. We studied
different theories and
political practices including political systems and factors affecting it continuous
change. One of its
objective is to mold us to be a more responsible and worthy citizen of our country
-Philippines. I want to
be a more productive citizen and I believe that Concordia Universitys International
Summer School can
help and make me to be one. Currently, I am a Law Student of Aquinas University.
From 2008-2009, I attended conferences abroad to widen my views and ideas. I
started to be a Student
Ambassador to Japan, Philippine Representative to Indonesia, and Youth
Representative in Malaysia. It
really help me to be nationally conscious and aware of what's going on today.
There are many reason why i want to be part of this programme. Concordia
Universitys International
Summer School will surely help me gain new ideas and experiences which i can
share with my fellow
Filipino. It can be a training ground for me to be more fit in facing the challenges of
life in the future.
This programme will strengthen the foreign relationship between Philippines and
Canada and it'll be an
honor for me to be a contributory factor in maintaining the close tie. This
Programme may also help in
merging two culture and views for a greater development. I want my dreams to be
in reality and i want
