November was another good month.

On November 11th Grand Exalted Ruler John
Amen and First Lady Marsha visited the Augusta Lodge and I had the pleasure of meeting
both of them and honoring them with a gift in
their name for ENF and some delicious Whoopie Pies made her
in Lewiston. Both gifts were very much appreciated.

Our New Years Eve events have not been well attended in the past so we decided to make it
simple this year. DJ Roger Paradis will be providing music and Karaoke from 8 till midnighteveryone bring your own snacks and the lodge will provide the champagne toast and
all the party favorsthere is no charge for this event.
Now on a more serious note. As of this writing, I nor any of my officers have heard of any
member interested in volunteering to be an Officer in this Lodge. The first meeting in February is the deadline for nominations and unfortunately if there are no officers to run the
Lodge after March 31st the Lodge will not be able to open. I am sorry to have to put this so
bluntly but I do not wish to see this Lodge close. So many people have put a lot of work
into trying to make it succeed and I know there are someone members out there that would
make great officers. Please consider a one year commitment to continue to have an Elks
Lodge to come to.
Thank You and Merry Christmas
Yours in Elkdom, Mike Aube, Exalted Ruler

From the Treasurer

Here's hoping everyone's Thanksgiving was enjoyable! Christmas is fast approaching and many of you will
be busy shopping and preparing for the big day.
There is one thought that I would like to pass on: Don't forget your Lodge. Come on over and participate in the festivities that have been planned like the Memorial Service, Members Christmas Party, Bingo every Wednesday and Friday nights with the most talented singers around. This is the season for family and
friends to get together for fun, love and companionship.
And last but not least, don't forget the real reason for the season.
Wonderful Holiday Season to All!
Marge Carter, Treasurer

From the First Lady

Happy Holidays,
This time of year brings many things to us, snow (although not to early please), Christmas with family and friends, a
New Year, and one of the most touching Elk ceremonies that I have ever seen--The Elk Memorial Service. The first
Sunday in December is designated by Grand Lodge as Elks Memorial Day in which all the brother and sister Elks who
have left us over the past year are individually remembered. Every Elk Lodge across the United States on this day
holds the same ceremony honoring there departed brother and sisters. This is not a private ceremony; it is a celebration
of life with family and friends invited. When I lost my Dad six years ago, it was very comforting to know his brother
and sister Elks cared about and missed him too.
