2. Rudder stock connection


Rudder stock connection is based
on locking ring assemblies for
rudder stock diameters up to and
including 280 mm, while hydraulic
shrink connection will be provided
for rudder stock diameters of 280
mm and upwards.

Integrated valve block with filter

4. Cylindrical rudder stock
Cylindrical upper part of rudder
stock for all available diameters
simplifies rudder stock manufacturing and makes height adjustment possible. Accurate length of
rudder stock is not required.

5. Spherical rotary vane


The spherical rotor bearing improves alignment procedures, as well
as eliminates transfer of rudder
stock bending forces into the rudder
actuator.

The Tenfjord range


Tenfjord SR series are designed for small to
medium sized ships. The SR series are delivered for working torque up to 625 kNm.
Complete steering control system is part of
the delivery.

Spherical rotor bearing


The SR series utilise spherical rotor and rotor bearing
which improves the force distribution from the rudder
stock to the rotor. The synthetic bearing maintains 100%
surface contact at all times even if the rudder stock flexes,
absorbing and dampening vibrations and shock pulses.
The lifetime of the bearing is almost infinite.
Frequency controlled pumps
The newest technical development, provide frequency
controlled pumps to be used for the Tenfjord SR 600 series.
This system utilises a reversible hydraulic pump motor
together with a frequency converter for changing the
speed and direction of the pump. This design gives
smooth starts and stops of the steering gear and enables
a precise analogue control system. The pump motors are
mounted directly on the rudder actuator with all necessary
fittings installed at our production facilities. This gives very
limited piping on board the vessel.
Conventional power packs
Conventional power packs with the proven design of
pumps are used as standard. The pumps are fitted with
solenoid operated control valves. By the use of standard
equipment, the layout of the power packs, storage- and
expansion tanks are adjusted to fit the ship design.
