4.1 Explain the role of government in training, development and lifelong learning in the sector.
Oriental Group is a real estate company; their main goal is to develop a land by building
houses and apartments and to sell them to their clients. In this industry the government has some
important roles which are related to the training and development as well as life-long learning of
those workers who are directly associated with the organization or the industry as a whole.
Role of Government in the organizational context of Oriental Group:
1) One of the important job role played in this sector is the engineers or the architectures
who design the plan of a project before the production takes place.
2) The government has established different polytechnic institutions all over the country that
are focused in giving institutional training and leanings to these people.
3) Therefore the demands for such job roles are increasing in the market.
4) At the same time such polytechnic institutions are also increasing the national
infrastructures for training and gaining sufficient knowledge and skills in this sector by
the people of the country.
5) The government is also funding many researches in this sector, as well as encouraging
foreign investors to invest in this sector for doing researches which are likely to develop
the skills of those who are involved working in this sector as well as to create new ways
of doing the task with ease.
6) High storage buildings are also effected by natural disasters such as an earthquake attack,
therefore the government is also encourage people from this sector especially those who
are involved in architectures or engineering departments for life-long learning. BUET is a
national institute funded by the government and they are also doing many researches in
developing the infrastructures of the country and finding news ways on how to overcome
an earthquake without suffering any major damages.

For those organizations that deal as real estate Company, like other companies Oriental group is
also engaged in the facility consumer by the government. They get the help from the government
by having their scope of distributing finance and efficient employee from national and private
institutions.

4.2 Explain how the development of the competency movement


taken by government has impacted on the sector.
The development of the competency movement introduced by the government has
influenced the real estate industry in a variety of ways.
1) It has helped in developing a more efficient and effective workforce, with the help of new
technology introduced by the government.
2) Workers can be more focused on their work, and because of various training and
development movements by the government, the workers are getting more skilled and
confident with their work.
3) It also helped the reduce wastage and the opportunity to gain economies of scale.
4) If a person knows how to do a work and what methods he should apply in order to
complete his task, it means he is likely to make less mistakes and is possible achieve the
above mentioned factors.

4.3 Assess how contemporary training initiatives introduced by the BANGLADESH government
contribute to human resources development for the organization.
The contemporary training initiatives introduced by the Bangladesh government have
contributed to human resources development for Oriental Group as discussed below:
a. The government has encouraged many local and private banks to provide student
loans, this helped the learners to raise findings for their personal training and
development, therefore once a person has sufficient skills, and it is easier for
Oriental Group to recruit suitable workers in their organization.
b. The government also offers many helps and suggestions to the Real Estate
Housing Agency of Bangladesh (REHAB) in how to improve the skills and
efficiency of workers in this sector. They often organize different training
programs and seminars to develop workers in this sector.
c. Almost every student who graduates from a University are placed under
apprenticeship in many organizations, the government has also encouraged the
graduates of national or state owned institutions to do internee in organizations
such as Oriental Group, it is because of such initiatives the workers in this sector
are developing at a rapid speed.
d. The government also provides scholarship or sponsorship opportunities to many
potential learners so that they can contribute in the development of the economy
as a whole.
e. All the state-owned institutions such as Dhaka University or BUET are funded by
the government; therefore those with sufficient potential but a lacking in finance
are enable to receive institutional education and may contribute to the
development of sectors such as Real Estate or organizations like Oriental Group
as a whole.
The government often encourages organizations like Oriental Group to organize
different training initiatives from time to time, this is because the development of the whole
country depends on the development of every individual in the economy, and therefore the
government wants to reduce unemployment through training measures and to develop the
economy through an effective workforce.
