Arrangements need to be made ahead of time to assure accessibility, or, if these
times are impossible, we can reschedule for a mutually convenient time.

ASSIGNMENT: Read handout: Kenneth Clarks "The Naked and the Nude"
write up synopsis due June 27 Get materials at Asels.

June 26* Last day to drop without a W this is not a class day
Last day to elect credit /no credit

June. 27 Intro to the model/ model etiquette (have materials ready) (model 3 hrs.)
Contour drawing exercises: gesture, composition, blind, advanced
Discuss "The Naked and the Nude”
ASSIGNMENT: Body landmark handouts/ memorize practice drawing
them in sketch book. bone landmarks

June 29 Gesture drawing/beginning model drawings (model 3 hrs.)


Various gesture approaches
skeleton super impositions
*Hand out on musculature landmarks (memorize these basics by July 6/ test)
ASSIGNMENT: learn and practice musculature landmarks

July 6 Test on Landmarks ( Model 3 hrs)


Lecture on proportions and measuring (first hour)
Advanced contour drawings. proportion and landmark work

July 11 Lecture: Value and Shading techniques thru lighting ( Model 3 hrs)
practice shading techniques in various mediums
Charcoal, paint, conte’ and pencil
ASSIGNMENT : finished value study (3 hrs) due July 18

July 13 Form rendering demo and workout. Model 3 hrs)


ASSIGNMENT: copy handout examples (due J

July 18 Lecture on Carving (articulating form)/ foreshortening (Model 3 hrs)


ASSIGNMENT: practice foreshortening in sketchbook

July 19* last day to withdraw with a WF/WP (this is not a class day )
July 20 Introduction to final outside and final class project due Aug 1
Introduction to head, hands and feet ( Model 2 hrs)
Hands, Feet and Head in class drawing focus
Class practice
ASSIGNMENT : 10 head drawings, 10 foot and 10 hand drawing at least, due
July 25

July 25 Final Value and form rendered drawing in class: begin final long pose following
thumbnails. Portfolios due except for your final 2 drawings. ( Model 3 hrs)

July 27 entire class will work on finished drawing which will be due
Aug 1. Portfolios Due August 1 include all work-in and out of class- done
during the semester.) ( Model 3 hrs)

August 1 Turn in final drawings/ NO CLASS! work can be picked up Thursday
